Speaker: Rev. Mikha Sanda Toding
Matthew 10:3810:38 "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. Matthew chapter 8-10 refers to the Altar of Burnt Offering or Jesus, Himself, who has come in the world to become sin offering to save our life.
Following Jesus without bearing the cross, one is unworthy before God as follows.
- Being unworthy of entering heavenly kingdom. One is only worthy of entering the heaven of death or perdition.
2 Thessalonians 1:5
1:5. which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer;
Acts 14:22
14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, "We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God."
We must through many tribulations or bear the cross to enter the kingdom of God.
- Being unworthy of wearing white clothing. It means being unworthy of walking together with God as His Bride. In such condition, one becomes the bride of Satan.
Revelation 3:4
3:4 "You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.
Matthew 16:21-23
16:21. From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
16:22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, "Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!"
16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
- There is no peace but chaos and problems without any solution until there is perdition together with the world.
Matthew 11:28-29
11:28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
We must bear the cross seriously as follows in order to become worthy and please God.
- Being dead to sin and living in righteousness.
1 Peter 2:24
2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness––by whose stripes you were healed.
Romans 6:3-4
6:3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The process is believing in God, repenting, being baptized of water to rise in new life, namely life in the righteousness.
2 Peter 2:8
2:8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds) ––
We must bear the dross every day in our ministry, job, study, et cetera. We are tormented in our soul because of keeping the truth when we face false matters.
- Being obedient.
Philippians 2:8
2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedientto the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Romans 8:5-8
8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8:8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
We must be sanctified from something that makes us disobedient as follows.
- Physical riches.
1 Timothy 6:17
6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
- Physical intelligence.
Romans 12:16
12:16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
- Good position or power.
Psalm 33:16-17
33:16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
33:17 A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.
Leviticus 21:12
21:12 'nor shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.
We must be in the Holy Place or shepherding system in order to be sanctified.
Obedience is godly characteristic that is as gold. It makes us precious in the sight of God.
1 Peter 3:4-6
3:4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
3:5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissiveto their own husbands,
3:6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.
The obedience will guarantee our success until the highest success that we are worthy of being the Bride of God.
John 21:6
21:6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
On the contrary, disobedience is the beginning of failure.
- Being responsible.
Exodus 12:34
12:34 So the people took their dough before it was leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.
It begins from responsibility to the true teaching Word, namely we do not mix the true teaching with the false one because the false teaching is as a leaven.
Hebrews 12:18-21
12:18. For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest,
12:19 and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore.
12:20 (For they could not endure what was commanded: "And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow."
12:21 And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, "I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.")
In addition, there is responsibility in our service and ministry to God with fear and honor to Him.
The result of bearing the cross is as follows.
- We are employed in the revival of Holy Spirit at the latter rain.
Matthew 21:5
21:5 "Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’"
Being delivered from sin and bearing the cross, we will be employed in the ministry of the building of Christ’s body.
Not being willing to be employed by God, donkey will be used by Balaam to go toward perdition.
- We are given quietness and there is no heavy burden anymore.
Matthew 11:29-30
11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
11:30 "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
All problems are born by God and He solves them until all things become easy and light.
- We are renewed to become the Bride of God.
The cross of Jesus renews our life from carnal man who is rude and evil to spiritual one who is meek until we are perfect as Jesus is.
2 Corinthians 3:18
3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
God blesses you.
