Speaker: Rev. Mikha Sanda TodingPeace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 17:14-21
17:14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying,
17:15 "Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.
17:16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him."
17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me."
17:18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
17:19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"
17:20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
17:21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."Jesus healed a child who was an epileptic. The child often fell into the fire and the water. It means the decreasing of spirituality or the falling in sin.
The true teaching Word will encourage us to increase in ministry and worship to God. If we refuse the true teaching Word or we receive but refuse to practice It, we will decrease in spirituality like a child who was an epileptic and fall in sin.
Proverb 30:15-16
30:15 The leech has two daughters--Give andGive! There are three things thatare never satisfied, four never say, "Enough!":
30:16 The grave, the barren womb, the earth thatis not satisfied with water--And the fire never says, "Enough!"Falling into the waterrefers to dissatisfaction so one falls in sin up to the peak that is the sin of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, drugs abuse) and marrying-being given in marriage (fornication, mixed marriage, marrying after divorce).
Falling into the firerefers to the lust of flesh, emotion, ambition, selfishness, so one is disobedient and cannot be advised and rebuked.
Hebrews 10:26-27
10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
10:27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
The fire refers to the fire of rebellion up to the worshiping to Satan.
Revelation 13:13-14
13:13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.
13:14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.Luke 9:37-39
9:37 Now it happened on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, that a great multitude met Him.
9:38 Suddenly a man from the multitude cried out, saying, "Teacher, I implore You, look on my son, for he is my only child.
9:39 And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out; it convulses him so that he foams at the mouth;and it departs from him with great difficulty, bruising him.If one refuses the Word or accepts but he does not practice It, he will fall and rise in sin and suffer in great shaking.
There are two kinds of great shaking as follows:
- The physical shaking that is caused by Satan, Antichrist, and the false prophet.
Isaiah 14:12-16
14:12 "How you are fallen from heaven,O Lucifer, son of the morning!Howyou are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!
14:13 For you have said in your heart:'I will ascend into heaven,I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;I will also sit on the mount of the congregationon the farthest sides of the north;
14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,I will be like the Most High.'
14:15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,to the lowest depths of the Pit.
14:16 "Those who see you will gaze at you, andconsider you, saying:'Isthis the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms,
It is the shaking in all things (economy, society, culture) and aspects.
It damages the faith so it can be lost. There is work, but without faith or there is faith, but without work.
Luke 18:8
18:8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"
James 2:17,19-20
2:17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble!
2:20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
The faith without work is dead or dead like the faith of Satan. The work without faith is useless.
Therefore, the faith must have works. The first work of faith is repentance. Thus, we can do the other works.
- The shaking in teaching or in ministry.
Hebrew 12:25-28
12:25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escapeif we turn away from Him who speaksfrom heaven,
12:26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shakenot only the earth, but also heaven."
12:27 Now this, "Yet once more,"indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.
12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
Isaiah 5:21-24
5:21 Woe to those who arewise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
5:22 Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
5:23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away justice from the righteous man!
5:24 Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, sotheir root will be as rottenness, and their blossom will ascend like dust;Because they have rejected the law of the Lordof hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
The teaching Word and the other teachings are mixed. Thus, the ministry and the earthly things are also mixed. The ministry always prioritizes the physical things and depends on the sights.
Colossians 2:18-19,23
2:18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in falsehumility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
2:19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that isfrom God.
2:23 These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, falsehumility, and neglect of the body, but areof no value against the indulgence of the flesh.
Genesis 6:1-3
6:1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
6:2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they werebeautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
6:3 And the Lordsaid, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he isindeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."
The mixed teaching and ministry will lead to the mixed marriage. The result is God's Spirit goes out and the other spirits such as fear, quarrel, divorce, grumble, et cetera will enter. Finally, it leads to the perdition forever.
The way out in facing the great shakingis as follows:
- We must receive the gospel Word that calls our life.
Matthew 17:17
17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me."
Matthew 11:28
11:28 Come to Me, all youwho labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mark 1:4
1:4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Our answer for the calling of God is that we believe in Jesus, repent, and enter the water baptism, so we are saved from death and the spirit of evil and uncleanness.
- We must receive the hard teaching Word that rebukes and advises our life, so we can live in holiness. We will not become the den of thieves but the temple of God or the dwelling place of His Spirit.
Matthew 17:18
17:18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
2 Timothy 4:1-2
4:1 I charge youtherefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season andout of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
James 4:1-3
4:1 Where do wars and fights comefrom among you? Do theynot comefrom your desires forpleasure that war in your members?
4:2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend iton your pleasures.
We can pray and worship God solemnly. We worship Jesus as the King with saying 'Alleluia'.
Revelation 19:6
19:6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
Zechariah 14:17
14:17 And it shall be thatwhichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lordof hosts, on them there will be no rain.
God as the King will pour the rain.
Isaiah 44:3
44:3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,and floods on the dry ground;I will pour My Spirit on your descendants,and My blessing on your offspring;
In physical life, we receive the blessing of God up to our descendants. In spiritual life, the blessing of Holy Spirit will be poured to make miracles in our life. The impossible things become possible.
Zechariah 4:6-7
4:6 So he answered and said to me: "This isthe word of the Lordto Zerubbabel:'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,'says the Lordof hosts.
4:7 'Who areyou, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall becomea plain! And he shall bring forth the capstonewith shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"
Romans 8:26-27
8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
8:27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is,because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will ofGod.
Holy Spirit helps our weakness, so we can be strengthened. The weaker our body, the stronger Holy Spirit works in our life.
Romans 5:5
5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there isliberty.
3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Holy Spirit helps us little by little until we become perfect as God is when He comes a second time. We enter the Future Paradise and the New Jerusalem forever.
God blesses us.
