Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are learning Revelation 3: 14-22 about the church of the
LAODICEANS. This is the last or the seventh church in the book of Revelation that shows the condition of the church in the last days.
The church of the Laodiceans or the one in the last days is lukewarm. It means that physically they are rich or do not need of anything, but spiritually, they are miserable, poor, blind, naked. It is the same as being empty because of not being filled with the spiritual things.
Consequently, they are vomited by God and destroyed forever.
Revelation 3:18-19
3:18 "I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
Therefore, God rebukes, advises, and chastens, so that the church of the Laodiceans or the one in the last days may buy the heavenly treasure.
There are three kinds of the heavenly treasure we must buy as follows:
- Gold refined in the fire or the pure, permanent, and perfect faith.
- White garments to cover the nakedness.
- Eye salve that we may see.
ad. 3. Eye salve to anoint eyes
We experience the anointing oil of Holy Spirit, until have opened eyes to see God's persona and field. The field signifies a working or serving place.
1 Corinthians 3:9
3:9. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.God's field is the same as God's building. Seeing God's field means we must be active in the ministry for building the body of Christ or the revival of white horse, the revival of Holy Spirit in the last rain, namely the great revival.
Mark 11: 1-2, 7
11:1. Now when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples;
11:2. and He said to them, "Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it.
11:7. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it.
The Gentiles who are active in the revival of Holy Spirit in the last rain can be illustrated as a colt ridden by Jesus towards the New Jerusalem. It is the same as the last journey of Jesus to Jerusalem.
2 Peter 2: 15-16
2:15. They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
2:16. but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet.If the colt is not ridden by Jesus, it will be ridden by Balaam (false prophet) toward the curse and perdition.
The steps of the use of God to the Gentiles are as follows.
- The donkey has never been ridden by any man.
Mark 11:2
11:2. and He said to them, "Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it.
Romans 6: 18-19
6:18. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
6:19. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
It meansthat the Gentiles are not enslavedby sin. We must be set free from sin so we can be used as slaves of righteousness or God's servant. One who is not right becomes the same asSatan's or Balaam's slave. The process of being set free from sin is through repentance and water baptism.
Romans 6:4
6:4. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The true water baptism is the one who has died to sin or repented must be buried in the water with Jesus and come out or rise from water with Him to receive new life or heavenly life. We live for righteousness. We died asthe slave of sin. We are buried in the water baptism to rise as the slaves of righteousness.
- The donkey must be tied.
Mark 11:2
11:2. and He said to them, "Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it.
Genesis 49:11
49:11. Binding his donkey to the vine, And his donkey's colt to the choice vine, He washed his garments in wine, And his clothes in the blood of grapes.
The Gentiles must be tied to the true vine, namely Jesus' persona or the true teaching Word. We must be shepherded to the true teaching Word and dwell in the sheepfold (Holy Place), namely perseverance in doing three kinds of main service as follows.
- Golden Candlestick or perseverance in doing General Serviceto have the fellowship with Holy Spirit God in the gifts.
- Table of Showbread or perseverance in doing Bible Study Service with Holy Communion to get the fellowship with the Son of God in the Word and the sacrifice of Christ.
- Golden Altar of Incense or perseverance in doing Worship Prayer Serviceto get the fellowship with Father God in the love.
In the sheepfold, our body, soul, and spirit abide in God the Trinity. The body, soul, and spirit are sanctified, so we can be well pleasing to God.
Ephesians 4:11-12
4:11. And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
4:12. for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
Then we can be equipped with ministry to be used by God in the ministry for building the body of Christ. It is the same as the donkey ridden by Jesus to the New Jerusalem.
- Being ridden by Jesus or bearing the burden, to experience the sprinkling of blood.
Mark 11:7
11:7. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it.
The ministry for building the body of Christ is signified by sacrifice. Everything must be sacrificed for the ministry for building the body of Christ, except one, that is the true teaching Word (Jesus' persona).
The ministry for building the body of Christ is signified by suffering in flesh for Jesus, service, and ministry.
1 Peter 4: 12-14
4:12. Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
4:13. but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
4:14. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
God allows us to experience the sprinkling of blood, so that the spirit of glory is poured over our lives. The more intense the fiery trial we received, the stronger the anointing of Holy Spirit, the more obvious the use of God, and the more abundant His blessing in our lives is.
The functions of Holy Spirit are as follows.
- The Holy Spirit pours God's love to give extra power so that we are strong and of good courage.
Romans 5:3-5
5:3. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;
5:4. and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5:5. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Being strong and of good courage means we are not disappointed and discouraged in facing anything, but joyful in the midst of sufferings. We do not feel proud, but always give thanks. We are always faithful and fervent according to the ministries that God gives to us, until the finish line (until we die or the second coming of God).
- Holy Spirit gives strength for flattening the mountains.
Zechariah 4:6-7
4:6. So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.
4:7. "What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of 'God bless it! God bless it!' "
It means Holy Spirit is able to solve the problems until the impossible ones. He is able to sanctify our lives until we are blameless.
- Holy Spirit renews our lives from flesh men to the spiritual ones like Jesus is.
Titus 3:5
3:5. not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
It starts from being obedient. It equals to stretching out the hands to God. Then God also stretches out His hands to us and we live in His hands. We are defended, protected and cared by God. The hands of God raise us to be successful and beautiful in its time until we are on the clouds when Jesus comes a second time.
God blesses you.
