Speaker: Deacon Youpri ArdiantoroPeace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mark 12:28-3412:28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, "Which is the first commandment of all?"
12:29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is:'Hear, O Israel, the Lordour God, the Lordis one.
12:30 And you shall love the Lordyour God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.'This isthe first commandment.
12:31 And the second, like it, isthis: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
12:32 So the scribe said to Him, "Well said,Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He.
12:33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
12:34 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." But after that no one dared question Him.
In Tabernacle, Mark 12:13-44 tells about the Ark of Covenant.
The Ark of Covenant is divided into two partsas follows:
- The Mercy Seat is made of gold.
There are two cherubim on the Mercy Seat. The first cherub refers to the Father God or Lord. The second cherub refers to the Holy Spirit God or Christ. The Mercy Seat with seven sprinklings of blood refers to the Son of God or Jesus. Thus, the Mercy Seat refers to the Trinity of God in persona of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The Ark of Covenant.
It is made of acacia wood overlaid with gold inside and outside. The acacia wood refers to the sinner. The gold refers to the divine nature. Thus, the Ark of Covenant refers to the perfect church or the Bride of Heaven.
The Ark of Covenant is filled with Aaron's budded rod, two tablets of stone, and a golden pot.
Exodus 25:1625:16 And you shall put into the ark the Testimony which I will give you.The two tablets of stone contain the Ten Commandments [Exodus 20:1-17]. The first tablet of the two tablets of stone contains four commandments which refer to the love for God. The second tablet of the two tablets of stone contains the love for others.
If we are willing to become the Bride of God, our life must be filled by love. We must have the love of God.
1 John 4:10-114:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to bethe propitiation for our sins.
4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. How can we have the love? We get it only from God, namely by the death of Jesus on the cross.
1 John 4:19-214:19 We love Him because He first loved us.
4:20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
4:21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God mustlove his brother also. The proof that we have the love is we can love God and others.
The facts found in loving God are as follows:
- One is willing to be reconciled[1 John 4:10].
All sins can be reconciled, so it depends on our decision whether we want or not. The process is through two things as follows:
- The work of Wordreveals our sins and reproves us. It also reveals the sin through chastisement. The purpose is that we realize, regret, and confess the sin to God and others. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore. The blood of Jesus will be active to cover and pull out the root of sin so we never sin anymore. It means that we die to sin.
- The Water Baptism.
Romans 6:4
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
One who dies to sin must be buried in water baptism together with Jesus. Then, he comes out from water together with Jesus to result in new life or the life live in righteousness and anointing of Holy Spirit.
Repenting and living in righteousness are the same as loving God.
Psalm 37:25-26
37:25 I have been young, and nowam old;Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.
37:26 He isever merciful, and lends; And his descendants areblessed.
The result is that God blesses the righteous and his descendants until he becomes blessing for others.
- One is willing to be shepherded.
John 21:15-17
21:15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs."
21:16 He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My sheep."
21:17 He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.
It starts from shepherd must be shepherded. It continues to the sheep also must be shepherded. The three times of Jesus' saying refers to the three main services in the shepherding. We must be shepherded in the persona of Jesus or the true teaching Word.
The shepherding Word is the teaching one that is repeated so we are sanctified and renewed.
Revelation 7:17
7:17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
It continues until we are led to the last shepherding, namely the New Jerusalem.
Psalm 23:1-2
23:1 The Lordismy shepherd;I shall not want.
23:2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
We receive the physical and spiritual caring of God in the shepherding.
- One obeys all commandments of God.
John 14:15
14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments.
It means obedience until the flesh does not sound anymore.
For example, Peter willingly died for God after being shepherded.
John 21:18-19
21:18 Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry youwhere you do not wish."
21:19 This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me."
Abraham also obeyed God when he was told to sacrifice his son, Isaac. The result is that he experienced the power of Jehovah Jireh, God provides everything.
Thus, the Bride of Heaven must be filled by the love to God. It starts from living in reconciliation, righteousness, shepherding, and obedience.
1 John 4:21, 204:21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God mustlove his brother also.
4:20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? The fact found of loving others is there is no hatred. It starts from marriage, shepherding, and inter-shepherding. If there is a problem among us, let us finish it quickly.
One who keeps the hatred does not have love or he cannot become the Bride of God. Without the two tablets of stone, the Ark of Covenant is empty.
If the heart is filled by the love of God, we can love God and others. The results are as follows:
- We live.
Proverbs 7:1-3
7:1 My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you.
7:2 Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye.
7:3 Bind them on your fingers;Write them on the tablet of your heart.
We grow spiritually and physically.
- We become an epistle of Christ that is known and read by all men.
2 Corinthians 3:2-3
3:2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men;
3:3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is,of the heart.
We become the witness everywhere we go.
- We find high esteem.
Proverbs 3:3-4
3:3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you;Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart,
3:4 Andso find favor and high esteemin the sight of God and man.
"The high esteem"refers to the wisdom. If we have the love of God, we will receive the wisdom. The functions are as follows:
- The wisdom employs us in the revival of the building of the perfect body of Christ. We are like the wise man who builds the house on the rock.
If we do not have love, we will not have the wisdom. It is like building the house but at the end it is ruined and destroyed. It cannot reach the perfection.
- The wisdom makes us enter the marriage supper of the Lamb. Only the five wise virgins can enter the marriage supper of the Lamb.
God blesses us.
