Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 21:1-8 can be divided into three parts as follows:
- [verse 1] The new heaven and earth --> the renewal of attention.
- [verse 2-3] The new man --> the renewal of heart up to the whole life.
- [verse 4-8] The new atmosphere.
- [verse 4] The atmosphere without death.
- [verse 5-6] The atmosphere of heavenly satisfaction.
- [verse 7] The atmosphere of victory.
- [verse 8] The atmosphere of the truth, holiness, and perfection.
ad. c.
The atmosphere of victory.
Revelation 21:7 21:7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.2024 is the year of victory.
The requirements for being victorious with God are as follows:
- Being the holy priest.
- Being called, chosen, and faithful.
- Living in the hands of God.
Proverbs 21:31 21:31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the LORD.How can we live in the hands of God?
- We must be obedient or stretch out our hands to God. As a result, God will stretch out His hands or we live in His hands.
Herod was disobedient in the marriage by taking the wife of Philip, his brother, as his wife. It means being outside the hands of God. Consequently, he beheaded John, the Baptist. It means the perdition.
Peter was disobedient in the ordination. He returned to become the fisherman after being the fisher of man. It means being outside the hands of God. Consequently, he was in failure and nakedness.
Nevertheless, Peter could return to the obedience until catching one hundred and fifty three fish. 1+5+3 = 9 that refers to the grace that is able to make something that does not exist yet for preserving our life. Impossible thing can be made possible.
- We must humble ourselves and confess that we are only the dust in the hands of God. We are formed only by the hands of God to become a living being.
Genesis 2:7
2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Nevertheless, men are often arrogant by forgetting that he is only the dust, so he feels right and great in his own eye. He forgets himself, God, and his parents. It is the same as being outside the hands of God. Men only commit sins up to the peak until perishing.
Psalm 103:8-14
103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
103:9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.
103:10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
103:11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
103:13 As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
103:14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
God always remember that man is the dust that has many weaknesses and sins, so He does not punish, but sends Jesus, His only Son or the only sinless Man, to humble Himself until His death on the cross for bearing, forgiving, and delivering from sins, so men can return to the hands of God.
The facts found in confessing as the dust are as follows:
- Confessing that we are not worthy, but only to be trampled, so we are encouraged to always reconcile with God and others.
The process of reconciliation is as follows:
- By the encouragement of the sword of the Word that points at our sin, we can realize, regret, and confess sin honestly with a broken heart to God and others. Being forgiven, do not repeat the sin!
- Forgiving and forgetting others' sin.
As a result, the blood of Jesus washes away all sins, so we are peaceful and all things become easy and light. It is the proof that we return to God and get closer to Him or we are in His hands. Getting far away from God, life will be heavier.
The examples of the people who reconcile with and return to the hands of God are as follows:
- The woman of Samaria confessed the sin of adultery and left it [John 4:16-18], as well as the sin of bitterness of heart, envy, hatred, and revenge [John 4:9].
- Job confessed the sin of self-truth covering sin by blaming at others and God as well as pretending to do good things).
Job 32:1-2
32:1 So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
32:2 Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was aroused against Job; his wrath was aroused because he justified himself rather than God.
Job 42:5-6
42:5 "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You.
42:6 Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes."
The characteristic of the self-truth is talking too much until the words are false, murmuring, debating, and quarreling.
- Confessing that we are not able or we cannot do anything, so we are encouraged to fully surrender to God.
It starts from surrendering the fear, anxiety, and so on, until we can submit our whole life to God. We can believe and entrust our whole life to God. We can kneel at Jesus' feet like John the apostle in Patmos Island.
Revelation 1:9,17
1:9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
1:17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feetas dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.
We worship God with a broken heart.
John the apostle had the Table of Showbread (the Word) and the Golden Candlestick (the testimony of Jesus), but no Golden Altar of Incense. It means lacking of worshiping God or the worship to God has not reached the measurement. One has not enjoyed worshiping God. God let him be exiled to Patmos Island. It means suffering because of Jesus or the sprinkling of blood for increasing our spirituality until we can enjoy worshiping God. We only look at His face and kneeling at His feet to worship Him with a broken heart and stretch out our hands to Him. As a result, He also stretches out His hands to us. We live in His hands.
The results are as follows:
- [verse 17] The power of renewal from the fear of something in the world until resisting against God to the fear of the Lord. We do not want to commit sin, but hate sin up to lie. We are obedient.
- The power to resurrect the dead.
Revelation 1:18
1:18 "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
It means the power of protection and preservation of God in the midst of the difficulties in the world. It also refers to the power for solving all impossible problems and for forming us to be the vessel of glory or God's servants whom He uses for glorifying Him. It is also the power to make all things good.
- The power of creation to make us perfect.
God blesses you.
