Peace and grace in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:16-20is about
the commandment to preach the gospel or to spread the light or shekinah glory. It means we are employed by God in the great revival according to the great commission of the Lord.
There are
two great revivals according to the great commission of the Lord as follows:
- [Matthew 28:18-19] The revival of Holy Spirit at the early rain.
- [Matthew 28:20] The revival of Holy Spirit at the latter rain.
We still discuss the first point which is
the revival of Holy Spirit at the early rain.
Matthew 28:18-19
28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
The revival of Holy Spirit at the early rain is the revival in the Gospel Word or the Gospel of Salvation
to bring the sinners to get the salvation through the water baptism.
The water baptism is the great commission of the Lord (the commandment of Lord) that contains law’s power in earth and heaven, thus,
it cannot be cancelled by anything.
Refusing the water baptism (or the Lord’s command),
means sinning and perdition. On the contrary, entering the water baptism (or receiving the Lord’s command),
means we are saved.
1 Peter 3:20-213:20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while theark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
3:21 There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God),through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
The water baptism produces
the good conscience, which is the heart that obeys the Word.
It determines whether we are saved or not.
Mark 1:2-41:2 As it is written in the Prophets: “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You.”
1:3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness:‘Prepare the way of the Lord;Make His paths straight.’”
1:4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
The right water baptism is preparing
the straightway (the smooth way) for Jesus. The good conscience is
the straight conscience. The straight conscience will not turn to the right or left
like the way of snake. The good conscience is as follows:
- The heart that is free from evil and uncleanness (Mark 7).
- The heart that is free from bitterness, jealousy, revenge.
- Saying the truth (yes if yes, no if no).
- Being obedient.
This evening, we will discuss the good conscience according the Luke chapter 6.
Luke 6:17-196:17 And He came down with them and stood on a level placewith a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases,
6:18as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed.6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed themall.
At the verses before, Jesus climbs to the hill to pray for all night then goes down to
the level placenear the hill.
The hill refers to Golgotha.
Thus, the straight conscience is
the level place in front of Golgotha. It means we appreciate to the sacrifice of Christ.
We appreciate the sacrifice of Christ; the result is we receive the love and mercy of God.
‘The level conscience’ - appreciating the sacrifice of Jesus and receiving the mercy of God will
make us pray to God. This is the effort to touch God.
This evening we must try to touch God. Worshiping is ripping the flesh and that is an effort. The sleepy, rebellious and unbelieving flesh must be ripped. We are struggling until
we can touch God.
Mark 5:25-29
5:25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,
5:26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.
5:27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Himin the crowd and touched His garment.
5:28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
5:29 Immediatelythe fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in herbody that she was healed of the affliction.
For example, the woman that had a flow of blood for twelve years. The woman was trying to touch God.
The flow of blood for twelve years means as follows:
- The illness or problem that is impossible, dissension in household, sexual affairs and divorce.
- There is no peacefulness, calmness, and happiness.
- Rottenness in sin, being humiliated.
The woman has been trying many things but there is no success.
The last effort is touching God.
We learn the right attitude of worship from the woman that has illness for twelve years as follows:
- Only believing and entrusting our self entirely to Jesus (no one else).
- Being able to endure without despair or stumbling and persevering in prayer even tough it has not been answered yet.
- Being humble in front of the border of His garment (it is the lowest place that is at feet), it means we feel unworthy and not capable, do not look for reward, but surrender entirely to God.
Worshiping God
is same as stretching out our hand to touch God and He will stretch out His mercy hand to touch usuntil the miracle happens, as follows:
- The impossible thing becomes possible.
- The rottenness becomes fragrant in His court.
- The dissension becomes unity.
- The tears or suffer become joy.
Mark 9:22-24
9:22 And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
9:23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things arepossible to him who believes.”
9:24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
A father brings his child that is epileptic toward God. The verse 24 in old version Bible has written
“cry out with tears”.
It points to worship.
A father sometimes has hard heart but God allows something to happen to make his heart meek. How hard our heart is, if we see Jesus’ sacrifice, our heart will become meek and able to cry and worship God.
The hard heart is unbelieving, uncertain and unable to worship God.
The child that is epileptic refers to
the destruction of marriage and children. The epileptic means as follows:
- Unclean sin and the peak of sins, namely eating-drinking as well as marrying and being given in marriage.
- The impossible thing.
This evening, let the father appreciates the sacrifice of Jesus or has the good conscience, so he can worship God. God also stretches out His mercy hand to touch, so the miracle happens, which is the destruction in marriage and children is changed into good things and happiness in marriage.
Luke 7:11-15
7:11. Now it happened, the day after, thatHe went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.
7:12 And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out,the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.
7:13 When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”
7:14Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried himstood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.”
7:15 So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.
This young man has already died in Nain, it means as follows:
- Spiritual death being withered, living in sins and perdition forever.
- Physical death, no future.
- Being unable to do anything, cannot touch Jesus.
Fortunately, this young man is not yet out from Nain.
Nain refers to the pasture.
The youth that has been spiritually withered and unable to do anything, or worship still can be touched by God if he is still in the shepherding. The miracles happens so that the dead becomes alive, it means as follows:
- Spiritually, it means we can live in righteousness and holiness as well as worship God.
- Physically, it means we have bright future.
- We experience the renewal from death to life, from flesh man to spiritual one until we are perfect like Jesus.
We are changed so that we are flawless as Jesus is when He comes a second time.
We worshipsaying“Aleluia”on glorious clouds up to the throne of God.
God blesses us.
