Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:9-20 is the vision of John at Patmos Island.
Revelation 1:9
1:9 I, John, bothyour brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

John experiences suffering in flesh at Patmos Island not because of sin but the Word of God (the Table of Showbread) and the testimony of Jesus Christ (the Golden Candlestick) that encourage to the true fellowship with God and fellows.

If our life and ministry are signified by the flesh suffering, we will enter the true fellowship with God and fellows. The true fellowship is based on true teaching Word as the branch that abides in the true vine.

There are there important things in the true fellowshipas follows:

  1. Fellowship in tribulation = the way of cross or the death experience.
  2. Fellowship in kingdom = the way of rise.
  3. Fellowship in waiting Jesus’ second coming = the way of glory.

There are three kinds of perseverance in waiting Jesus’ second coming which are perseverance in faith, shepherding, and praying.

Colossians 4:2
4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;

The functions of perseverance in praying are as follows:

  1. Revealing the secret of Word of God or the true teaching Word.
    Colossians 4:3-4
4:3 meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,
4:4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

The opening of the doors for the preaching of the true teaching anywhere, anytime, and in any circumstances will happen. Thus the opening of the way out from all problems even the impossible ones will happen.

  2. Walking in wisdom.
    Colossians 4:5
4:5 Walk in wisdom toward thosewho areoutside, redeeming the time.

It means we associate with others in the limitation of the Word righteousness, so we will not fall in sin up to the peak of sin which is sins concerning eating drinking (smoking, getting drunk, drug abuse) and marrying-being given in marriage. Also we will not fall in association of the world and its influence that make us unfaithful even leave the ministry.

    James 4:4

4:4 Adulterers andadulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Also we will not fall in false teaching and gossip that make us doubt, leave the true teaching Word, not follow Jesus but our will and become the enemy of God.

    John 6:60, 66

6:60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heardthis, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”
6:66 From thattimemany of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.

  3. The speech is always seasoned with salt.
    Colossians 4:6
4:6 Letyour speech alwaysbewith grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

The speech seasoned with salt is the speech that full of love and seasoned by the salt of Holy Spirit, so we can answer each one.

    Mark 9:49-50

9:49 “For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.
9:50 Saltis good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.”

The process to be salted by Holy Spirit is reconciling with God and fellows. We confess the sin honestly to God and fellows because of being encouraged by Word. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore. Also we forgive and forget others sin. Jesus’ blood finishes the sin and our heart becomes peaceful. The peaceful heart is the place of the fire of Holy Spirit. Our speech is seasoned with salt and our life becomes salty salt.

The facts found in the salty salt or the functions of the anointing of Holy Spirit are as follows:

  1. Putting to death the sin.
    Romans 8:13
8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

How great the flesh is, it is the place of virus and worm of sin. The anointing of Holy Spirit puts to death the virus and worm of sin up to the hidden sin. Thus, our life will not decay but might live for righteousness and holiness until He comes a second time. Also there is guarantee to live in this difficult world.

  2. Giving comfort and extra strength when we face problem, temptation, suffering, hatred, and persecution.
    John 15:25-27
15:25 Butthis happenedthat the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’
15:26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
15:27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

We do not disappoint, lose heart, or leave God, but trust and hope fully to Him until the time He helps us.
We can keep on testifying to save the sinner through the gospel of salvation. Thus, the saved people enter the building of the perfect body of Christ through the gospel of glory.
Testifying is seasoning like salt. Our life will be beautiful.
We must sacrifice willingly to testify and help others. It is like salt that dissolves willingly.

  3. Giving the gift of Holy Spirit and ministry through the laying on of the hands of the eldership.
    1 Timothy 4:14
4:14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

  4. Holy Spirit sanctifies and changes the Gentiles that are like dog and sow to become spiritual man like Jesus.
    Romans 15:16
15:16 that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

The life renewal starts from honesty and obedience as the salty salt. The physical miracle will happen. He is able to create something that does not exist yet and make the impossible possible. Until the time of Jesus’ second coming, we are changed as glorious as He is and worthy to welcome His second coming.

God blesses us.
