Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14 is about the seven sprinklings of blood in front of the Ark of Covenant to experience the last sanctification for reaching the quality of being flawless or perfect.
Revelation 14 can be divided into three parts as follows:
- Verse 1-5 = the church's following Jesus as the Lamb of God (it is explained from General Service in Malang, August 15, 2021to Prayer Service in Malang, October 14, 2021).
- Verse 6-13 = the notice about the judgment (it is explained fromGeneral Service in Malang, October 17, 2021to General Service in Malang, December 05, 2021).
- Verse 14-20 = the reaping on the earth (it is explained in Bible Study Service in Malang, November 07, 2021).
ad. 3.
There are two kinds of reaping on the earth as follows:
- The reaping of the wheat (it is explained in Bible Study Service in Malang, November 07, 2021).
Revelation 14:14-16
14:14.Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
14:15.And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe."
14:16.So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
It refers to the result of the sprinkling of blood or the last sanctification that is brought into the barn of kingdom of Heaven.
- The reaping of the vine of the earth.
Revelation 14:17-20
14:17.Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
14:18.And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, "Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe."
14:19.So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
14:20.And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses' bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.
It refers to the consequence of the life who rejects the sprinkling of blood, so he must be thrown into the great winepress of the wrath of God. Thus, blood came out of the winepress up to the horses' bridles.
ad. 1.
Revelation 14:14-1614:14.Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
To be the ripe wheat, we must experience two times of winnowing as follows:
- The winnowing by Jesus Himself.
Matthew 3:12
3:12.His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
Matthew 3:12[KJV]
3:12. whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaffwith unquenchable fire.
The goal is to divide the wheat from the chaff. It means to sanctify and purify our lives up to perfection like Jesus. We become the bride of Heaven who is ready to welcome Jesus who comes a second time.
How does Jesus winnow us?
Malachi 3:1-3
3:1. "Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," says the Lord of hosts.
3:2. "But who can endure the day of His coming? and who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fireand like launderers' soap.
3:3. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.
Jesus sanctifies and purifies us through two things as follows:
- The launderers' soap = the true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword.
The process is repeated like washing clothes.
The shepherd preaches the true teaching Word repeatedly to sanctify the clothes from stain of sins or moth = physical sanctification.
The clothes refer to the character and ministry to God.
- The refiner's fire = the fiery trial or the sprinkling of blood to purify us from the rust of sins in heart and mind = spiritual sanctification.
Therefore, we must listen and be obedient to the true teaching Word, so that we can be sanctified from moth and we are willing to bear the cross with Jesus, and also we are purified from the rust of sins.
James 5:1-6
5:1.Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!
5:2.Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
5:3.Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.
5:4.Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
5:5.You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter.
5:6.You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.
If we don't want to be sanctified, we will be miserable even though we are rich.
The stains of sins are evil deeds, unclean acts, useless words, and unclean sight.
The unclean acts are the sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage.
The useless words are lies, gossips, and slander.
The rust of sins means being stingy and greedy.
Being stingy means that one cannot give to the ministry to God and to others who are in need or he is using the blessing from God wastefully.
Being greedy means to steal others' possession especially God's which is the tithes and special offering.
In the shepherding pen, we are sanctified repeatedly from the moth and the rust of sins. The results are as follows:
- Our service and ministry to God are pure and undefiled. This is well-pleasing to God.
James 1:27
1:27.Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
- Becoming the life that is holy and pure like Jesus. We become the ripe wheat that is ready to be brought into the barn of the kingdom of Heaven.
- The winnowing by Satan.
Luke 22:31
22:31.And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
The goal is to make the children of God fall into sins and lose faith, so they become the chaff that will be burnt in hell forever.
There are two types of falls as follows:
- The fall into sins up to the peak. That is the time when the child of God loses faith and become the chaff.
- The fall into temptations.
It means to sin, to complain, to be disappointed, up to denying Jesus when facing trials or difficulties.
For example, Peter denied Jesus three times.
When one falls into temptations, he will be the chaff.
The consequence is to be burnt in hell forever.
How to deal with the winnowing from Satan?
Luke 22:32-34
22:32.But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren."
22:33.But he said to Him, "Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death."
22:34.Then He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me."
- The attitude of God.
He appears as the High Priest and the Great Shepherd to offer the prayers and preach the shepherding Word, so the sheep are shepherded well and correctly. We do not fall into sins and temptations.
Hebrews 2:17-18
2:17.Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priestin things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
2:18.For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
Jesus' praying and preaching the shepherding Word is the same as stretching the hands of the High Priest that is faithful and merciful to make propitiation for our sins.
When the sins are forgiven, all problems will be solved in His time.
- Our attitude.
We must be shepherded well and correctly, so we are only obedient to the voice of the Shepherd and we have strong faith. We do not fall in anything that we face; even we can win over Satan.
We pray a lot and worship Him; we believe and entrust ourselves to God.
Praying and being obedient to the Word are the same as stretching hands of faith to God. So, He will stretch His merciful hands and the miracles happen.
The results are as follows:
- John 21:18-19
21:18.Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish."
21:19.This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me."
Before being shepherded, Peter had denied Jesus. But, when he was shepherded, he confessed all his weaknesses physically and spiritually. Peter never denied God anymore, and he stretched his hands of faith to Him. God also stretched His merciful hands, so Peter was used by God to glorify Him. Peter was willing to die because of Jesus, and his name was written in the kingdom of Heaven.
- Isaiah 36:12
36:12.But the Rabshakeh said, "Has my master sent me to your master and to you to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, who will eat and drink their own waste with you?"
At that time, the church of God was facing crisis.
Isaiah 37:1,6-7,14-16,36
37:1.And so it was, when King Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the Lord.
37:6.And Isaiah said to them, "Thus you shall say to your master, 'Thus says the Lord: "Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.
37:7.Surely I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land."
37:14.And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.
37:15.Then Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, saying:
37:16."O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
37:36.Then the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses--all dead.
'went into the house of the Lord' = being shepherded. It is the safest place.
When Hezekiah was surrounded by the troops of king Sennacherib, he went into the house of the Lord.
It means to be shepherded well and correctly, namely being obedient to the Word of God. As a result, we are not afraid, but we are peaceful, silent and calm. And then, we pray to God or stretch the hands of faith to God. Therefore, He will stretch His faithful and merciful hand to make the great army become corpses. All impossible problems are solved.
On the contrary, God is able to make corpses rise to be the great army, namely the bride of Heaven who is ready to welcome Jesus who comes a second time. We enter the Paradise and the barn of the kingdom of Heaven forever.
The key is to listen the Word and pray a lot. God will stretch His hands to us until we become the great arm that is perfect to be worthy and rise up to the glorious clouds.
God blesses us.
