Matthew 26:36-46is about GETHSEMANE.

Gethsemane is a press.
In the Gethsemane, Jesus experienced the suffering in the flesh without any sins. In the last days, Church of God or the followers of Jesus will also experience the suffering in the flesh without any sins in these forms:
  • Suffering or persecution to serve and minister God.
  • Suffering or persecution to keep righteousness.
  • Suffering in the flesh to face injustice, slander, et cetera.
All of them cannot be defeated by anything in the world such as intelligence, riches, good position, et cetera, but only by WATCHING and PRAYING.
Matthew 26:36, 40-41
26:36. Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go and pray over there."
26:40 Then He came to the disciples and found them asleep, and said to Peter, "What? Could you not watch with Me one hour?
26:41 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

One form of watching and praying is watching and praying for one hour.

The function of watching and praying for one houris as follows:
  1. Revelation 18:16
18:16 "and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 'For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.'

Babel refers to evil and unclean spirit as well as sins up to the peak as follows:
    • The sins concerning eating-drinking.
    • The sins concerning marrying-being given in marriage or sexuality sin with all its varieties, including wrong marriage.

Watching and praying for one hour are the process of tearing the lust of flesh, so we do not fall in the sins of Babel and we do not perish together with her.
The result of watching and praying for one hour is life in righteousness, holiness, up to perfection.

  2. Luke 22:57-60
22:57 But he denied Him, saying, "Woman, I do not know Him."
22:58 And after a little while another saw him and said, "You also are of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am not!"
22:59 Then after about an hourhad passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, "Surely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galilean."
22:60 But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are saying!" Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.

Peter had flesh characteristic, namely fear of the cross of Jesus or fear of suffering together with Him physically and spiritually. It equals to being the enemy of the cross. Consequently, he denied Jesus three times.

    Denying Jesus means as follows:
    • Following Jesus at a distance, meaning unfaithfulness and leaving ministry because of something.
      Luke 22:54
22:54 Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest's house. But Peter followed at a distance.

    • Denying the true teaching Word we have experienced because of hearing other teachings or strange voices or gossips.
The signs of the true teaching Word are being written in bible and being revealed by God.

Watching and praying for one hour are the process of tearing the flesh characteristic, namely fear of the cross, so we can be joyful in experiencing the cross. We are willing to suffer because of God and righteousness.
Being joyful in the cross means we keep confessing Jesus' name, we do not deny Him whatever must happen in our life.

The facts found in confessing Jesus' name are as follows:
    • We keep faithful in our ministry up to the end.
    • We keep holding fast and obeying the true teaching Word we have experienced in our life.

  3. Matthew 26:41-42
26:41 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
26:42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done."
The Lord Jesus as human in the flesh has His own will indeed. He is not sinful but He must obey the will of God to die on the cross.

The will of flesh makes human disobedient to the true teaching Word.
Consequently, one falls in problems and temptations. In such condition, s/he will fall to the pit of death if s/he seeks solution outside the Word. On the contrary, there will be lifting up done by the Lord if we do not sin when we are facing temptation.

Watching and praying for one hour are the process of tearing the will of flesh, including the lust of eye, ears, and heart, so we can be obedient to the Lord until our flesh does not sound anymore ("Your will be done.")When we are obedient, we are lifting up our hands to God and He is stretching His hand to us.

The result of the stretching hand of God is as follows:
    • Creation powerfrom no fish to many fish, meaning as follows:
      • The preservation of God for our physical life in the midst of difficulties and impossibilities in the world.
      • The preservation of God for our spiritual life.
        John 21:7
21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.

Peter, who was naked, put on his outer garment, meaning we can live in righteousness and holiness before God.

    • Renewal powerfrom water to wine for facing bitter or destroyed marriage in which there is no joy. It is renewal power from carnal man to spiritual one.
      John 2:3-4
2:3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine."
2:4 Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come."

      Life renewal happens as follows:
      • From anxiety or doubt to full belief in the Lord. We must be patient in waiting for the time of God.
      • Our mouth does not lie but becomes honest. We say "yes" if "yes" and "no" if "no."

As a result, the marriage experiences sweet wine of heaven. The more we are renewed, the sweeter wine we will get, until someday we drink the sweetest wine in the marriage supper of the Lamb of God.

    • Power to open the door of the kingdom of heaven.
      Matthew 7:21
7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

The obedience will also open the door of heaven as well as doors in the world.
God blesses you.
