Speaker: Rev. Mikha Sanda TodingMatthew 12:15b-21
12:15b And great multitudesfollowed Him, and He healed them all.
12:16 Yet He warned them not to make Him known,
12:17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
12:18 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.
12:19 He will not quarrel nor cry out, Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
12:20 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory;
12:21 And in His name Gentiles will trust.”
Our knowledge to God is not for experiencing the physical healing only, but it also must be increased to experience the spiritual healing that is healing from illness of sin. Our knowledge to Jesus must be increased. We know deeperly Jesus as Shepherd, the Head, and the Bridegroom of Heaven. We are known also by God. Do not feel that we know God but He never knows us.
Matthew 7:21-23
7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
7:23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
The steps to know and to be known by Jesus are as follow:
- Knowing Jesus as Savior and the way of salvation.
John 14:6-7
14:6 Jesus said to him,“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
14:7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
The process is as follows:
- Believing from hearing the Word.
John 3:16
3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
- Repenting or stopping sinning to return to God.
Hebrews 11:6
11:6 But without faithit isimpossible to pleaseHim,for he who comes to God must believe that He is, andthatHe is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
- Water Baptism.
Romans 6:3-4
6:3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
We are saved, have new life, live in righteousness and honesty.
- Knowing Jesus as the good Shepherd and He knows us as His sheep.
John 10:14
10:14 I am the good shepherd; and I know Mysheep, and am known by My own.
The process is as follows:
- Entering the sheepfold or the Holy Place.
John 10:1-2
10:1 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
10:2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
Persevering in committing three main services which are General Service, Bible Study Service with Holy Communion, and Prayer Service.
- Hearing and following the voice of shepherd or obeying the Word.
John 10:3-4
10:3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
10:4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
- Not following the strange voice that is the false teaching, gossip, et cetera.
John 10:5
10:5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
Thus, Jesus as the good Shepherd will know us as His sheep.
1 Peter 2:25
2:25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseerof your souls.
God as the good Shepherd will care us miraculously in the midst of difficult world.
John 10:28
10:28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
The strong hand of God protects and gives us the eternal life.
- Knowing Jesus as the Head or Husband.
Hosea 2:18
2:18 In that day I will make a covenant for themwith the beasts of the field,
with the birds of the air, andwiththe creeping things of the ground.Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth,to make them lie down safely.
The step is having the faithfulness to God. It starts from faithfulness to the true teaching Word like the branch that abides to the true vine.
John 15:1-4
15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
15:2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;and everybranchthat bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
15:3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
It continues to the ministry.
Revelation 2:10
2:10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw someof you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
It is also faithfulness in marriage.
Malachi 2:14-16
2:14 Yet you say, “For what reason?”Because theLordhas been witnessbetween you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously;yet she is your companionand your wife by covenant.
2:15 But did He not makethemone, having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one?He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.
2:16 “For theLordGod of Israel saysthat He hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence,”says theLordof hosts.“Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”
The faithfulness is also in worshipping God.
John 4:23-24
4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
4:24 GodisSpirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
The true worship is encouraged by the Word and Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:35-39
8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?Shalltribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
8:36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
8:38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
8:39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The result is as follows:
- God knows us as His body. God knows all problems that we faced and His mercy hand is stretched out to gives victory.
- God’s mercy hands help us and give strength to ease the fearfulness so we can get the serenity.
Revelation 1:17
1:17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me,“Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.
- God’s mercy hands lift up and exalt us.
1 Peter 5:6
5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
Until God lifts up us to His throne and we become His Bride.
God blesses us.
