Matthew 25:14-15
It is only
the mercy and the justice of Godif the sinful men can serve Him.
Matthew25:19 25:19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
On Jesus second coming, we have to account for the ministry we have received.
The positive attitude was shown by the servant receiving 5 talents and 2 talents.
The negative attitude was shown by the servant receiving 1 talent.
Matthew25:16-17,20-21,2325:16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.
25:17 And likewise he who had receivedtwo gained two more also.
25:20 "So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.'
25:21 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
25:23 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithfulservant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
The positive attitude to the talents are:
- being faithful and good
- being faithful and wise
- being faithful and fervent in spirit
- being faithful and sincere.
Tonight we talk about
BEING FAITHFUL and SINCERE.
Joshua 24:1424:14 "Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Himin sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!
Being faithful = ministering solemnly and not easily hindered in the ministry.
Being sincere = honest.
The practices of being sincere/honest are below:
- Being honest in the teaching word.
Titus 2:7
2:7 in all things showing yourself to bea pattern of good works; in doctrine showingintegrity, reverence, incorruptibility,
1 Timothy4:1
4:1. Now the Spirit expresslysays that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,
One who lives in Holy Spirit's anointing will be able to be honest and firm.
- Being firm to hold fast on the true teaching Word whatever the risks (not being uncertain) to anyone.
- Being firm to reject the false teaching whatever the risks.
- Being honest in words, means:
- Saying rightly/not lying.
- Being honest in confessing the sins = nothing is hidden.
If the sins are hidden, God's presence will be hidden.
- Being honest in deed.
Wherever we are, we have to be honest in deed.
- Being honest in character = serving the Lord unconditionally (without any intention to get profit).
If we serve God conditionally (with the intention to get carnal profit), we will lose the spiritual reward, i.e. losing the eternal life.
The result of serving God unconditionally is God never lies to us.
- Being honest in marriage and financial matters.
Hebrews13:4-5a
13:4 Marriage ishonorableamong all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
13:5a Let yourconduct bewithout covetousness; becontent with such things as you have.
Honorable = honest.
The honesty in a marriage means that the marriage must be right and pure:
- Right marriage corresponds to the true teaching Word.
- A marriage must be pure since the beginning, the journey, until the end of the marriage, such that may enter the marriage supper of the Lamb.
The honesty in financial matters includes God's own and the others', i.e.:
- Returning God's own, i.e. the tithe and the special offering.
- With respect to the others, we should not steal, we should not do corruption, we have to pay the debt, etc.
Hebrews13:5b13:5b For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
The result of serving with faithfulness and sincerity is
God will never leave us = God struggles with us, He understands our condition and God cares us.
The results are below:
- God's merciful hands are stretched out to helpus from all problems even the impossible ones.
Hebrews13:6
13:6 So we may boldly say: " The LORDismy helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
Hebrews2:18
2:18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
- God's merciful hands are stretched out to carry us as powerless baby, meaning God's merciful hands are able to care and protectour life in the middle of difficulties and shocks of the world.
Isaiah49:14-15
49:14 But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me."
49:15 " Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.
- God's merciful hands are stretched out to finish the building of the perfect body of Christ, meaning God's merciful hands purify and renewus little by little from carnal life to spiritual life until become the same as Him.
1 Chronicles28:20
28:20 And David said to his son Solomon, "Be strong and of good courage, and do it;do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God--my God--will bewith you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.
The beginning of the renewal of life is being strong and of good courage, means that not easily being disappointed and desperate, but keeping on putting the hopes in God.
Until Jesus' second coming, we will be renewed as glorious as Him, being God's bride who is ready to welcome His second coming on the glorious clouds.
God blesses you.
