Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 23:223:2 And put a knife to your throat If you are a man given to appetite.'
a man given to appetite' means one who is ruled over by or cannot control the fleshly desires. Such desires aim at the peak of sins, namely the sins concerning eating-drinking such as smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse as well as the ones concerning marrying-being given in marriage such as fornication and wrong marriage. Such sins happen on the last days for edifying Babylon or the bride of Satan who is perfect in the evil and uncleanness. Nevertheless, she will be destroyed forever.
The only way to face the fleshly desires is through the sanctification which is done by the knife or sword of God's Word. It means the Word which is sharper than any two-edged sword.
We must hear and obey it more, so we can undergo the increasing sanctification continually as follows.
- The sanctification to the heart and mind which are the source or storehouse of sins.
Hebrews 4:12
4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Matthew 5:27-28
5:27 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.'
5:28 "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
The heart and mind are sanctified from the following things:
- unclean lusts or the sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage;
- evil lusts or the will of money, stinginess, and greediness;
- bitterness or jealousy, hatred, revenge, and so on.
The consequences of having the uncleanness, evil, and bitterness are as follows:
- The joints are dry.
The joint refers to the connection between two bones. It means the relationship with other people. If the joint is dry, the relationship will be disturbed or bad.
- The marrow is dry.
One will become a dry bone. It means a spiritual dryness. He is not fervent in spirit anymore in doing spiritual things. Such condition will make him commit sins, die spiritually, and perish.
- The sanctification to the right eye or sight.
Matthew 5:29
5:29 "If your right eyecauses you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
As a result, there is spiritual sight towards Jesus, the High Priest, who sits at the right side of the throne of Father God. Do not see nor hope in any men! Just believe and hope in God!
- The sanctification to the hands or deeds.
Matthew 5:30
5:30 "And if your right handcauses you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
As a result, there are righteous, holy, and good deeds that become blessings for others.
- The sanctification to the marriage or characteristic.
Matthew 5:31-32
5:31 "Furthermore it has been said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.'
5:32 "But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.
The cause of divorce is a self-truth characteristic. It means covering sin by blaming others and God or by pretending to do good things. Such things will be revealed someday like Judas, who burst open in the middle, and there will be no more forgiveness.
- The sanctification to the mouth.
Matthew 5:33,37
5:33 "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.'
5:37 "But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
There must be no lie, gossip, and slander, but honesty. Say 'yes' if 'yes' and 'no' if 'no'; 'true' if 'true' and 'false' if 'false'. It begins from godly matters or the true teaching Word. We must obey and support the true teaching Word and avoid the false one. Do not resist against or make the people who are false as our enemy, but we must avoid them.
Exodus 29:1a
29:1 "And this is what you shall do to them to hallow them for ministering to Me as priests:...
After being sanctified in our heart or the root and the mouth or the sweet fruits, God will appoint us as the priests and kings or His servants whom He uses in the ministry for edifying the perfect body of Christ according to the priest's office He has entrusted to us.
One who does not want to be sanctified will neither want nor deserve to serve to God in the ministry for edifying the body of Christ. Consequently, he will enter the edification of Babylon or the bride of Satan, who will be destroyed.
- The sanctification to the neck.
Proverbs 23:2
23:2 And put a knife to your throat If you are a man given to appetite.
This sanctification encourages us to worship God.
The neck refers to the worship prayer or the closest relationship between Jesus or the Head and us or the body.
- The neck becomes the way from the body to the Head.
It means that in the worship prayer, we get the renewal of life from the carnal man to the spiritual one until we are as perfect as Jesus or the Head is. It begins from using the neck for bowing the head. It means being submissive. Do not use the neck for shaking the head like Queen Vashti, who had been disobedient until she was exiled.
Do not use the neck for looking back like the wife of Lot, who became the pillar of salt and perished.
Jesus gives the example of obedience to Father God through His death on the cross.
The matter of the neck must be used for bowing the head also refers to the submission of the bride or the wife to the husband. It means the obedience until the flesh does not speak anymore. In such condition, we are stretching our hands to God for surrendering and crying out to Him.
- The neck becomes the way from the Head to the body.
In the worship prayer, God is stretching His merciful hands to give all things to us.
The results are as follows.
- We get the power of the miraculous preservation of God.
Deuteronomy 28:1-3,8
28:1 "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
28:2 "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:
28:3 "Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
28:8 "The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.
He commands the abundant blessings to come to us. It means that we can give thanks to Him. Nothing may hinder or imitate such blessings.
After being blessed, do not misuse the blessings. We must return the possession of God or the tithes and offerings as well as give to the work of God and other people who are in need.
- We receive the power of victory over the trinity of Satan, who is the source of problems and failures.
Philippians 2:8-10
2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
All impossible problems will be solved by God. He makes all things successful, beautiful, and joyful.
- We get the power of the renewal of life.
Philippians 2:11
2:11 2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The tongue or mouth is only used for glorifying God through testifying and worshiping Him. For example, Moses chose Zipporah from among seven girls in the shepherding to be his wife. Zipporah means a little bird. What we need from it is its voice. It means that our mouth determines whether we can be chosen as the bride of God or not. Therefore, we must keep our tongue. Do not gossip! We must testify and worship God more until we are changed to be perfect when Jesus comes a second time. We do not stumble in words, but only say Alleluia to welcome Jesus' second coming on the glorious clouds. We are with Him forever.
God blesses you.
