Speaker: Pdt. Mikha Sanda TodingMatthew 7:15
7:15. "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
We must beware of false prophets who bring false teaching.
They come in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves= intruders.
Jude 1:4
1:4. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
The characteristics of intruderare:
- Misusing God's grace, meaning:
- Misusing God's sacrifice = lifewho serveswithout repentance.
Romans 3:23-24
3:23. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
3:24. being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
- Misusing Word of grace= dissobedient serving life.
Acts 20:32
20:32. "So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
- Serving without love/without right ordination/serving without God's will.
Matthew 7:21-23
7:21. "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
7:22. "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
7:23. "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'
Consequently, he will be expelled by God until come into perdition.
- Going after strange flesh.
Jude 1:7
1:7. as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
It means going after flesh things by sacrificing spiritual things. For example: Esau.
Hebrews 12:16-17
12:16. lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.
12:17. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.
Consequently, there are lots of tears in his/her life, unfinished problems until entering into unfinished perdition.
- Exaggeratingthe dream for no apparent reason.
Jude 1:8
1:8. Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries.
It means intruding into those things which he has not seen= life who ministers but only sees world things like man, money, church building, etc.
Colossians 2:18-19
2:18. Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
2:19. and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.
They do not hold fast to Christ as Head. Consequently, their lives are full of pretense/hypocrisy, so he/she can't be changed like Herod.
The right church of God holds fast to Christ as Head= holding fast true teaching Word.
Ephesians 4:15
4:15. but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ--
Example of right church of God is Mary who sat at Jesus' feet.
Luke 10:38-39
10:38. Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.
10:39. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.
It is different with Martha who didn't hold fast to true teaching Word that her life was full of affliction.
Mary has chosen the good part by sitting at Jesus' feet. It means listening and being obedient to the true teaching Word. Practices of sitting at Jesus' feet are:
- Repentance, especially when we face many difficulties.
Isaiah 30:15
30:15. For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: "In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." But you would not,
In difficulties, we correct ourselves through the Word and we can repent earnestly.
- Quietness and confidence, meaning hope in God.
I Peter 4:7
4:7. But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
One of our weakness is when we face problem, we panic and ask help from others. Other person does not help us, but hastens our drowning.
Psalms 131:3
131:3. O Israel, hope in the LORD From this time forth and forever.
We hope in God from this time forth and forever.
Never hope to human, self strength and world, because we will be disappointed.
Hope in God, then God will not forsake us.
- Worshipping God.
Revelation 1:17
1:17. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.
We trust and commit ourselves in God until our flesh does not sound anymore.
We do not nag, do not feel deserving, etc.
Results of worship are:
- God will strecth out His merciful Hand to lift us up from shock, doubt and fear. We do not worry and doubt anymore, especially do not doubt about the true teaching Word.
I Corinthians 15:58
15:58. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Examples of life who hold fast true teaching Word are Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.
If we do not doubt about true teaching Word, we SURELYwill not doubt when we face temptation.
- God will stretch His merciful Hand to make alive things that already have died even the impossible problem.
Revelation 1:18
1:18. "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
- God will strech out His merciful Hand to lead us to living fountains of waters until New Jerusalem. All tears, suffering and failure will be wiped away by God, so we live in peace and happiness.
Revelation 7:17
7:17. "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
God blesses us.
