Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 11:511:5. And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouthand devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.
This is about the fire that proceeds from the mouth of the two witnesses, namely Moses and Elijah.
Fire that proceeds from the mouth of the servant of God has been prophesied in the book of Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 5:14
5:14. Therefore thus says the LORD God of hosts: "Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them.
'
My words'= the Word which is spoken by God Himself. It is the same as the one whose secret is opened through a verse that explains another verse in the Bible or the true teaching one that is sharper than any two-edged sword.
Jeremiah 23:2923:29. "Is not My word like a fire?" says the LORD, "And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
The fire that proceeds from the mouth of the two witnesses or servant of God is the one of the true teaching word that is sharper than any two-edged sword.
The matter of how the fire of the word works in us depends on our own life.
There are two attitudes that determine the work of the fire of the true teaching word that is sharper than any two-edged sword as follows:
- The negative attitude, namely rejecting the true teaching word.
Consequently, the fire of the true teaching word becomes the one of punishment.
- The positive attitude, namely receiving the true teaching word earnestly and cheerfully.
As a result, the fire of the teaching word becomes the one of purification until it perfects us.
Tonight, we will learn about the negative attitude.
There are three fires of punishment as follows:
- The fire of punishment for the stubble or chaff.
Isaiah 5:24
5:24. Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, And the flame consumes the chaff, So their root will be as rottenness, And their blossom will ascend like dust; Because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
The stubble refers to the servant of God who rejects the true teaching word or purification.
The consequences are as follows:
- One has dry roots. It means being spiritually withered like a dry branch that is made as firewood. His spiritual life is never satisfied.
The fact found in it is grumbling. He is never satisfied but judges others. He slanders others (the right becomes wrong and vice versa) until he blasphemes God (rejecting the true teaching word but defending and justifying the false one).
If the dry roots exist, the word will become dry too.
This life is not satisfied until he chooses the wrong God.
In the past time the Israelites were wrong, choosing between Jesus and Barabbas. Judas Iscariot also chose the elders more than Jesus and he was sorry for all of his life. The consequence is perdition forever.
That is why we must receive the true teaching word, so we experience the purification. As a result, we experience the heavenly bliss. We always give thanks, praise, testify, and glorify God.
- One has the root of rottenness. It means doing the things of rottenness.
The facts found in it are as follows:
- Envy, hatred without a cause, and revenge.
Proverbs 14:30
14:30. A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones.
- The idolatry or all things that hinder us to love and prioritize God, so we become disobedient and unfaithful.
Deuteronomy 9:12
9:12. "Then the LORD said to me, 'Arise, go down quickly from here, for your people whom you brought out of Egypt have acted corruptly; they have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them; they have made themselves a molded image.'
We must work and study hard, but it must not hinder us to minister to God.
- The evil company.
1 Corinthians 15:33
15:33. Do not be deceived: "Evil companycorrupts good habits."
We must keep ourselves from the company and habit in the world that are considered normal whereas actually they are sinful.
For example, one cheats, gossips in the church, makes affairs with the wife of other man or the husband of other woman, has the unfaithfulness in the relationship, does not minister to God, and hears the false teachings.
All of these things corrupt good habit, so he becomes evil and erred.
The consequence is being destroyed with the fire.
Let us have company with God in the true teaching and worship.
- The fire of punishment to Achan who stole the possession of God.
Joshua 7:20-21,24-25
7:20. And Achan answered Joshua and said, "Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and this is what I have done:
7:21. "When I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. And there they are, hidden in the earth in the midst of my tent, with the silver under it."
7:24. Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, the silver, the garment, the wedge of gold, his sons, his daughters, his oxen, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and all that he had, and they brought them to the Valley of Achor.
7:25. And Joshua said, "Why have you troubled us? The LORD will trouble you this day." So all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fireafter they had stoned them with stones.
Joshua 6:24
6:24. But they burned the city and all that was in it with fire. Only the silver and gold, and the vessels of bronze and iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
This is the root of wickedness, namely the love of money. It means that one steals the possession of God, namely the tithe and special offering, and the one of others through not paying the debt, making corruption, et cetera.
The journey of Joshua to Canaan refers to our last journey or the revival of Holy Spirit in the last rain. In this journey, there is the root of wickedness.
If a shepherd steals the possession of God, he will end up to the Valley of Achor or the one of trouble. It means that he leads the congregation to the valley of trouble until being burnt with fire and destroyed forever.
That is why we must experience the purification by the fire of the true teaching word, so we feel more blessed to give than to receive.
It means as follows:
- We can return the tithe and special offering that belong to God.
- We can return the firstfruits or the first result of our work that we receive from God.
- We can give for doing the work of God and to others who are in need.
- We can give our whole life to God, so we are used in the revival of Holy Spirit in the last rain or the building of the perfect body of Christ. We are lifted up to become the priests and kings, so we can minister in holiness, faithfulness, and fervency. We become the apple of God's eye. All of us must become the priest and king.
- The fire of punishment over Babylon in one hour.
Revelation 18:2,9-10
18:2. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every uncleanand hated bird!
18:9. "The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning,
18:10. "standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one houryour judgment has come.'
Babylon refers to the following things:
- The uncleanness sin, namely the sins of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse) and marrying-giving in marriage (false marriage, mixed-marriage, divorce-remarrying, and marrying-giving in marriage).
- The sin of unfaithfulness in the ministry to God, worship, and marriage.
For example, one may be faithful in the ministry but not in worship.
Keep the faithfulness to God and others!
The consequence is being punished with the fire in one hour.
That is why we are purified by the fire of the true teaching word, so we worship God faithfully up to one hour prayer or the one of Gethsemane, the fasting prayer, and all night-long prayer.
Mark 14:37-38
14:37. Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour?
14:38. "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
If we do not worship God, our flesh will become weak although we have the word.
Use these moments to worship God earnestly!
The roots of decay, wickedness, and uncleanness have happened in the last days, so the church of God is punished.
Let us worship a lot, so the fire of Holy Spirit is poured out as it has happened at Jerusalem.
We need the fire of Holy Spirit.
The functions of Holy Spirit are as follows:
- The fire contains heat, so we do not experience the spiritual cold.
The last days are signified by the winter or the condition which is without love. Human is truly sadistic.
That is why the fire of Holy Spirit warms us up in the love of God, so we always love Him more than anything. We never deny Him, but keep becoming obedient and faithful until the finish line.
We can love others as we love ourselves. We do not hurt others, but return good for evil.
Love is eternal. If we live in love, we will live forever.
- The fire contains strength. It means that Holy Spirit gives the power to make the great mountain become a plain.
Zechariah 4:6-7
4:6. So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the LORD of hosts.
4:7. 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"
It means as follows:
- Holy Spirit is able to destroy sins up to the peak, so we keep living in righteousness and holiness.
- Destroying the mountain of impossible temptation, so all things are finished in due time.
- Making the mountain of challenge and stumbling block become a plain, so we become faithful and fervent until God comes a second time.
We are used in the building of the perfect body of Christ until God comes a second time and we are changed until being as perfect as Jesus is.
- The fire contains light. It means that Holy Spirit is able to change us from fleshly men to spiritual ones like Jesus.
This is the biggest miracle. It starts from being honest or sincere. We are honest to confess our weakness.
The physical miracle will happen too. The impossible thing becomes possible, from nothing to something.
It continues until Jesus comes a second time that we are changed to become as perfect as He is. We do not stumble in words. We are worthy to greet His coming with a shout "Alleluia!"
God blesses us.
