Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 9:1-12 is about the fifth blowing of trumpet or the fifth judgment of the Son of God to the people in the world.
Revelation9:7-129:7 The shape of the locustswas like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.
9:8 They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth.
9:9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle.
9:10 They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months. 9:11 And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.
9:12 One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after these things. The locusts refer to the wicked and evil spirits which come out of the bottomless pit.
We can learn two things about the locusts as follows.
- The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle.
- They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails.
1 Corinthians 15:55-56
15:55"O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?"
15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
The sting is the same as the one of the death, namely the sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage.
Thus, the scorpions refer to the wicked and evil spirits as the trigger of sins which causes men to commit sins up to the peak and get the torment of the scorpion for five months until they perish forever.
The conditions of the locusts or sins are as follows.
- On their heads were crowns of something like gold.
It means the sins up to the peak that rule over the thought of men or God's servants.
- Their faces were like the faces of men.
It means sins up to the peak that rule over the heart of men or God's servants.
If the heart and thought are ruled over by the sins, the deeds and sayings will also be ruled over by them for sure.
Thus, sins up to the peak rule over the whole life of men.
- They had hair like women's hair.
It means that there are many kinds of sins. The story is long or it never ends.
The hair also refers to the pride, arrogance, or prioritizing something in the world more than God.
- Their teeth were like lions' teeth.
It means tearing the body of Christ. It starts from the marriage, shepherding, and inter-shepherding.
The sins which tear the body of Christ are envy, strife, hatred without a cause, revenge, and so on. Such sins make one unable to be the perfect body of Christ, but perish forever.
All great things in the world such as intelligence, riches, high position, and so on cannot finish the sins; even they encourage men to commit sins.
The solution is in Good Friday. Jesus must go down to the world as the only sinless man to become the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:9-10
4:9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.Jesus reconciles us from all sins up to the peak. He saves the sinful men, so they are not condemned, but have eternal life.
John 19:30
19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Jesus became the propitiation for our sins by His death on the cross until He said "It is finished".
There are three times of the saying "It is finished" as follows:
- On the cross.
John 19:28-30
19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst!"
19:29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.
19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
It is related to the sour wine mingled with gall or sins up to the peak with the curses and judgments of sins as well as the everlasting perdition.
The sour wine makes men thirsty and dissatisfied like the Samaritan woman who committed divorce-remarrying five times, so her life was full of weariness, tears, and bitterness.
Therefore, Jesus drank the sour wine and said "It is finished." It means that Jesus has born and finished all sins and the curses until He is dead and cursed on the cross.
Galatians 3:13-14
3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),
3:14 that the blessingof Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
All curses of sins are replaced with blessings.
John 19:32-34
19:32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him.
19:33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His sidewith a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
The time of Jesus' crucifixion was nearing Sabbath. He actually has died on the cross with the four main wounds for saving the house of Israel from sins and the curses. The fifth wound is the biggest and the deepest one, namely in Jesus' side, out of which blood and water came out, for saving the Gentiles. Thus, the Gentiles must see and mourn for Jesus' side which has been pierced. It is the same as looking at the sign of blood and water to finish all sins and the curses.
The sign of bloodmeans that we believe Jesus and repent.
The process of repenting is realizing sins by the encouragement of the sword of the repeated Word and confessing the sins to God and other people. It is the same as giving Jesus sour wine mingled with gall to drink. It is a ministry that pleases Jesus' heart. As a result, He will forgive and forget all sins, so we can stop sinning and die to sin.
We cannot please God's heart before we confess our sins and repent. If we cannot satisfy God, our life will never be satisfied.
The sign of waterrefers to the water baptism.
1 Peter 3:20-21
3:20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
3:21 There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
There is only true water baptism. We must be baptized like Jesus was baptized.
The true water baptism means that one who has repented must be buried in water with Jesus to be raised with Him in the new life. We can serve to God in faithfulness and righteousness. As a result, we have a strong foundation to receive the blessings of God from the time we are in the womb, for our descendants, until the eternal life.
- In the New Jerusalem.
Revelation 21:5-6
21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."
21:6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
The voice of Jesus "It is done" keeps on being sounded up to the New Jerusalem.
It means that ones who have experienced the redemption from the cross must be changedcontinually until they are in the New Jerusalem.
The renewal which is towards the New Jerusalem is signified by the matter of there is no old thing anymore.
Revelation 21:1
21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
- There is no more sea. It means that there is no more doubt.
James 1:6-8
1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
1:7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
1:8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
The doubtful heart must be changed, so we can be strong and of good courage.
- There is no more death.
1 John 3:14-15
3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.
3:15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
It means that there must be no hatred anymore, especially the hatred without a cause.
We must be able to love other people; even our enemy.
- There is no more curse.
Revelation 22:3
22:3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
Jeremiah 48:10
48:10 Cursed is he who does the work of the LORD deceitfully, And cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.
The curse refers to the evil and unclean heart.
It must be sanctified to become holy and faithful.
- There is no more lie, but honesty.
We are renewed continually until we are as perfect and glorious as Jesus is.
Being strong and of good courage, able to love others, holy, faithful, and honest, we have the strong foundation to receive the physical blessings. Impossible things become possible.
Zechariah 12:10-12
12:10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
12:11 "In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
12:12 "And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves;
Commemorating the death of the Lord, our duty is mourning for the side of Jesus which has been pierced whatever condition we have now.
Psalm 136:4
136:4 To Him who alone does great wonders, For His mercy endures forever;
Jesus alone on the cross is able to do the great wonders.
- In Babylon.
Revelation 16:17-19
16:17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!"
16:18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.
16:19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
Ones who reject the side of Jesus, have the hard hearts, and keep the sins will get the increasing sour wine up to the wine of the fierceness of God's wrath.
God blesses you.
