Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 3:14-22 is about the church of the Laodiceans.
They are the seventh church or the last one that represent us as the church in the last days.
Revelation 3:15-163:15 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 3:16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. The spiritual condition of the church of the Laodiceans or the congregation in the last days is lukewarm.
There are three meanings of being lukewarm spiritually as follows.
- Neither being cold nor hot.
Being not cold equals to being not cool, meaning there is no peace. There are only envy, revenge, hatred without any reasons, gossips. It happens within oneself or within the congregation.
Being not hot means being unfaithful and apathetic in the ministry, even leaving it.
The consequence is being vomited by God. Vomit is something that is useless, disgusting, unclean, and will be thrown away. It means being separated from God, started with being dry spiritually.
- Neither being defeated nor victorious.
Exodus 32:17-19
32:17 And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, "There isa noise of war in the camp."
32:18 But he said:"It isnot the noise of the shout of victory,
Nor the noise of the cry of defeat,
Butthe sound of singing I hear."
32:19 So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf andthe dancing. So Moses' anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.
It is the ambience without the love of God. The consequence is idolatry to the golden calf.
Exodus 32:9
32:9 And the Lord said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and indeed it isa stiff-necked people!
Idolatry means as follows.
- Being a stiff-necked people or hardening the heart. It means being disobedient to God or the true teaching Word. Worshipping idol means loving something more than God, or choosing something by sacrificing God.
- Ministering God by aiming for physical matters. Ministering with fleshly or carnal way, that is by showing earthly satisfaction without sanctification. It means having no love.
- Falling in the sin of Babylon, that is sin concerning eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, consuming drugs) and marrying-being given in marriage (sexuality sin with all its variety, wrong marriage, mix marriage).
Exodus 32:6
32:6 Then they rose early on the next day, offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
The consequence is facing wrath and perdition from God.
- Neither being dead nor resurrected.
Revelation 13:1-3
13:1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name.
13:2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet ofa bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
13:3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.
Jesus really dies and He is risen.
Not being dead means not dying to old life or sins.
Not being resurrected means not being resurrected in new life.
Thus, neither being dead nor resurrected means not experiencing life renewal from the flesh man to the spiritual one.
Why does one not experience life renewal?
- Because he only looks for physical miracles. If one only aims for those things, he will be deceived by antichrist.
- Because of rejecting the power of ministry, that is the sword of the true teaching Word and the cross.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
3:2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3:3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
3:4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
If one ministers by only looking for the things that please the flesh, he will not experience life renewal. The consequence is preserving the flesh with its 18 attitudes, being marked with 666 and being equal with antichrist. The first 6 means the body is flesh, the second 6 means the soul is flesh, and the third 6 means the spirit is flesh. It means being equal to the wild beast who has wild mouth, meaning saying wild words. He will be destroyed together with antichrist forever.
2 Thessalonians 2:4,8
2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
Matthew 8:14-15
8:14 Now when Jesus had come into Peter's house, He saw his wife's mother lying sick with a fever.
8:15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.
One who is lukewarm spiritually is as the condition of the mother in law of Peter who is sick with a fever. A mother in law refers to old life. The task of a mother in law is preparing the bride. Thus, in spiritual meaning, the mother in law of Peter refers to the church of God in the last days who is old and ready to become the bride of God. But the condition is sick with a fever, that is neither being cold nor hot, or being lukewarm.
Jesus comes to touch the church of God in the last days that is in chaos condition. God wants to tidy up our lives.
John 19:28-30
19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst!"
19:29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put iton hyssop, and put itto His mouth.
19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Why is Jesus able to touch the lukewarm people?
- Jesus has died on the cross to defeat the death.
- On the cross, Jesus drinks the sour wine that is all bitterness and chaos in our life.
Jesus touches the church in the last days through the preaching of the Bride Tidings. If the sword of the Word pierces our heart, points the untidy thing, and we can realize it, it means God touches our life.
What are the untidy things that happen frequently?
- Net refers to daily activities regarding job, study, future, and mate.
Matthew 4:21
4:21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the sonof Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them,
- Bed refers to marriage that is frequently in chaos.
Acts 9:32-34
9:32 Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda.
9:33 There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed.
9:34 And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed." Then he arose immediately.
Aeneas means being admirable and reputable. Being paralyzed refers to impossibility, obstruction, and uncleanness. But God is able to touch us.
- Lamp.
Matthew 25:7
25:7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
Lamp refers to the ministry. It must be tidied up.
Lamp also refers to the conscience. It must be tidied up.
God is able to touch and tidy up so the lamp keeps burning.
Matthew 8:158:15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them. After God tidies up everything, we must minister Him until where Jesus is, there we will be also. It is until we become the Heavenly bride.
God blesses us.
