Matthew26:6-10, 1226:6. And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,
26:7 a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured iton His head as He sat at the table.
26:8 But when His disciples saw it,they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste?
26:9 For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to thepoor."
26:10 But when Jesus was aware of it,He said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.
26:12 For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did itfor My burial.
A human life in the world is just as a clay pot which is fragile and easily broken. It means as follows:
- easily being desperate and disappointed, even suicide,
- easily being proud,
- easily doing sins,
- until being destroyed and perished forever.
If a clay pot is filled with knowledge/ high degree, richness, position, etc. from this world, its value in the world is increased as an alabaster flask.
But, it must be remembered that an alabaster flask is still fragile and will be destroyed/ perished forever.
Therefore,
a clay pot must be filled with Heavenly matters (the Word, the anointing of Holy Spirit)such that it is not fragile and broken, but becomes
life who is endurable and hardy in facing temptations, sins, such that he may
become perfect and as glorious as Jesus (the golden pot that had the manna).
In
Matthew26:6-13, there are four sins which prevent the anointing of Holy Spirit (destroy the clay pot) as follows:
- Sin of leprosy.
Matthew26:6
26:6. And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,
- Sin of leprosy = self-truth sin (it is white, but it is leprosy), that is:
- covering sins by blaming the others,
- covering sins by blaming God or the true teaching Word, through many schemes.
The consequence is cannot repenting, being really destroyed and perished.
- Leviticus13:45
13:45 "Now the leper on whom the sore is,his clothes shall be torn and his head bare; and he shall cover his mustache, and cry, 'Unclean! Unclean!'
Sin of leprosy = uncleanness.
- Way of dressing which is unclean and showing the flesh.
We may follow the fashion, but it should not show the flesh. Be careful!
- Sin deeds up to the peak of sins, that is eating-drinking sins (smoking, drinking, gambling, consuming drugs) and marrying-giving sins (sexuality sins, wrong marriage).
- Luke17:16-17
17:16 and fell down on hisface at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
17:17 So Jesus answered and said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where arethe nine?
There were ten people who were cleansed from leprosy, but there was only one who came back to give thanks and worship God.
Sin of leprosy = cannot give thanks, cannot worship God, always grumbling.
Sin of leprosy is triggered by the false prophet(it is white but it is leprosy = deceitful).
The consequence is there is no more God's image in human, but the image of false prophet.
- Indignant sin/ angry sin.
Matthew26:8
26:8 But when His disciples saw it,they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste?
- Getting angry without a cause:getting angry to the people who do good (because there is jealousy, envy), getting angry to the people used by God.
- Getting angry without love:getting angry to the people who do mistake, but with explosive emotion (without limit), until hating.
It is allowed to get angry to the people who do mistake, in order to help them, but it should not be without love.
The consequence is arising fight and dispute.
This life cannot worship God (his prayer cannot reach God's presence), he is being spiritually withered.
I Timothy2:8
2:8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
Hatred/ murder is triggered by Satan (the father of murderer).
The consequence is there is no more God's image in human, but the image of Satan.
- Lying sin.
Matthew26:9-11
26:9 For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to thepoor."
26:10 But when Jesus was aware of it,He said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.
26:11 For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.
John12:4-6
12:4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son,who would betray Him, said,
12:5 "Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?"
12:6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.
Be watchful! Many social foundations are seemingly giving the others, but actually many lies and steals inside.
Giving is a ceremony, not social activity.
If it is a ceremony, there will be fear of Lord. If it is only social activity, there will be lies and steals inside.
Lie = saying not right things.
Lie is triggered by Satan (the father of liar).
The consequence is there is no more God's image in human, but the image of Satan.
- Steal sin.
The stolen things are especially God's owns, that are tithes and special offerings.
The bond of money/ mammon is the strength of antichrist.
The consequence is there is no more God's image in human, but the image of antichrist.
Judas Iscariot is the example of clay pot life who was filled with four sins above, such that he lost the image of God the Trinity and was replaced with the image of Satan the trinity.
Judas,who is
a disciple and treasurer (a trusted people), but he still
could be filled with four sins and had the image of Satan the trinity, WHO ARE WE?
Be careful!
Let us not have a lot of service, but there is only the image of Satan.
Do not be proud of something!
Let us always be corrected by the Word.
Do not be fooled! The other disciples, until the last communion, still thought that Judas was used by God.
These days, we must be watchful and pray a lot!Acts1:16-181:16 "Men andbrethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;
1:17 for he wasnumbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry."
1:18 (Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out.
Judas kept the four sins (had the image of Satan the trinity), therefore:- Judas was not shepherded.
Judas was in the shepherding pen, but his heart cannot accept or cannot obey the shepherding Word.
Judas was only smuggling in the shepherding. In fact, Judas even took sides on the chief priests and the elders of the Jews.
- Judas was not faithful in the ministry, only to get the carnal things.
Whatever the reasons that make us cannot be faithful in the ministry, although those are great reasons in human point of view, but those are priced as the grave (useless things).
The wage of Judas' evil was only become a field for grave.
If there are obstacles, we must really ask for an opening way from God.
God sees our yearning heart, and God has the power to destroy all the obstacles.
Remember! God punished Egypt to struggle for the ministry of Israelites.
Not being shepherded + not being faithful = only going to the grave, everything is useless.
The consequenceis Judas hung himself, he burst open in the middle, and all his entrails gushed out, it means as follows:
- Being desperate and disappointed.
- Having uncertain life.
Whatever we proud of, which prevents us to be shepherded and faithful in the ministry, will hang our life.
Remember Absalom with all his greatness (great hair), but he was not obedient, and the end of his life was being hung by his hair.
- Total failure.
- Bad odor.
- Being perished forever.
Judas' life is as a clay pot which is broken into pieces, having no use anymore, and being perished forever.
Remember!
The example of broken life is Judas. He is not ordinary person, but he is a disciple and a treasurer.
But in the other hand, no matter how broken our life is, this morning there is still a way out from God.
Isaiah30:13-1530:13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.
30:14 And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter's vessel, Which is broken in pieces; He shall not spare. So there shall not be found among its fragments A shard to take fire from the hearth, Or to take water from the cistern."
30:15 For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: " In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." But you would not,Be watchful! Physical and spiritual ruin can happen in a blink of eye.
Also, perfection will be fulfilled in a blink of eye, and we will be changed as perfect as Jesus.
The way out isJesus has been willing to be hung on the cross. He died to redeem and set us free from sins and curse of sins. Jesus has been willing to be hung such that we do not hang ourselves.
Our attitude is honoring the sacrifice of Christ.
- Being in SILENCE.
It means correcting ourselves through the strength of the teaching Wordwhich is sharper than any double-edged sword, and piercing until the depth of our heart and mind.
It also means correcting ourselves through fasting prayer.
We must correct ourselves many times, do not correct the others instead.
Judging the others = throwing down the broken clay pot. The result is it will be just more broken.
If we find sin, we must confess it solemnly to God and to the others.
If we are forgiven, we should no longer do that sin. It is equal to repentance.
If we do not find any sins, we must be in silence and should not defend ourselves.
Sprinkling of the blood = sorrow with Jesus without any sins.
- Being in PEACE.
It means controlling ourselves through the fasting prayer.
Flesh always flares up with all its desire, emotion, and ambition. Human flesh also likes hoping to the others. All the flesh must be blocked.
Controlling ourselves means as follows:
- Not being desperate or disappointed.
- Not being proud of something.
- Not hoping to the others, but only hoping to God.
- Not blaming the others.
- Not being doubtful or worried, but only believing and fully surrendering to God.
In peacefulness, we can pray and worship God(I Peter4:7).
Repentance and silence = stretching out our hands to God.
Thus, God will also stretch out His hands to us.
Although the clay pot has been broken in pieces, we are still within the hands of the Potter.
The results are as follows:
- Romans9:22-23
9:22Whatif God, wanting to show Hiswrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,
9:23 and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,
God recreates us again as the vessels of mercy;
- Life who is used in the revival of Holy Spirit in the last rain.
We glorify God, not grieving God's heart.
- Life who is cared by God miraculously, although in the middle of difficulties.
The condition of the world at the end of ages is as the condition of five loaves and two fish facing 5000 people.
If we are used to glorify God, God will care us and we will not lack of something.
- Mark 4:38-39
4:38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"
4:39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
The Potter's hands are able to cease the wind and wave. It means as follows:
- God solves all our problems.
- God gives beautiful future.
- God gives peace and joy.
- Genesis1:26
1:26. Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
The Potter's hands recreate us again with the image of God the trinity.
- Satan the trinity is beaten.
- We are perfected as glorious as Jesus and ready to welcome Jesus' second coming.
Whatever our condition now, whether it is failed or successful, let us always be within the hands of the Potter!
God blesses us.
