Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There are four appearances of Jesus in the glory in Revelation 1:13-16 as follows.
- [verse 13] the appearance of Jesus in the glory as the High Priest.
- [verse 14] the appearance of Jesus in the glory as the King of all kings.
- [verse 15] the appearance of Jesus in the glory as the Just Judge.
- [verse 16] the appearance of Jesus in the glory as the Heavenly Bridegroom.
Jesus, as the Heavenly Bridegroom, is the Head. We, as the bride, are the body. Jesus appears in glory as the Heavenly Bridegroom to unite with us and we will not be separated with Him forever.
ad. 4. The appearance of Jesus in the glory as the Heavenly Bridegroom.
It is so that we appear as His perfect bride and we are together with Him forever.
Revelation 1:161:16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance waslike the sun shining in its strength.Jesus appears in the glory as the Heavenly Bridegroom with the signs as follows.
- He had in His right hand seven stars.
- Out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword.
- His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
We discuss the second sign, that is out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword.
Matthew 4:44:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”Out of the mouth of God goes the Word. Thus, the sword refers to the Word.
There are two types of the preaching of the Word of God as follows.
- The gospel of salvation = the gospel Word = milk = Good News.
Ephesians 1:13
1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
It is the gospel that preaches Jesus first coming to die on the cross and save sinful men. The gospel of salvation calls sinful men to believe Jesus and be saved. The process is as follows.
- Believing and having faith to Jesus as the only Savior.
- Repenting, stopping sinning to return to God.
We confess our sins to God and the others. If we are forgiven, we must not repeat the sins anymore.
- Being newly born from water and the spirit, or entering water and Holy Spirit baptism, so we receive new life, that is Heavenly life.
Living a Heavenly life means being as a newborn baby.
1 John 3:9
3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
New life means not sinning anymore. We are set free from sins whatever the risks are, so we can live in righteousness. Until we cannot sin, or being righteous as Jesus is.
Many are called but few are chosen. We need to continue to the second type of preaching.
- The gospel of the glory of Christ = the teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword = solid food = Bride Tidings.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
It is the gospel that preaches Jesus second coming in glory as King of kings and Heavenly bridegroom to choose saved lives to be sanctified until perfection. It is to make the saved lives experience spiritual growth up to full maturity as Jesus. We can become the Heavenly bride and welcome His second coming to enter the marriage supper of the Lamb of God.
Revelation 19:9
19:9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed arethose who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
Afterwards, we will enter the kingdom of peace a thousand years or the future paradise [Revelation 20]. Further, we will enter the New Jerusalem, the eternal Kingdom of Heaven [Revelation 21-22].
Be watchful, one who rejects the sword will not be perfected. He will fall and be left on Jesus’ second coming. It means perdition forever.
The formation process of the Heavenly bride through the work of the sword of the Word or the Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword is as follows.
- The Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword pierces and sanctifies our heart that is the store of sins.
Hebrews 4:12-13
4:12 For the word of God isliving and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things arenaked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must giveaccount.
Matthew 15:19
15:19 For out of the heart proceed (1)evil thoughts, (2)murders, (3)adulteries, (4)fornications, (5)thefts, (6)false witness, (7)blasphemies.
The sword that is sharper than any two-edged sword sanctifies us from seven hidden sins within our heart, so that it is filled with Holy Spirit and its seven manifestations.
Isaiah 11:1-3
11:1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse,
And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
11:2 (1)The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
(2)The Spirit of wisdom and (3)understanding,
(4)The Spirit of counsel and (5)might, (6)The Spirit of knowledge and (7)of the fear of the Lord.
11:3 His delight isin the fear of the Lord,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
The fear of the Lord means being afraid to do sins, hating sins up to hating lies.
The fear of the Lord is being faithful and fervent in spirit in ministering God.
Proverbs 9:10
9:10 “The fear of the Lord isthe beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One isunderstanding.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Heavenly wisdom that is more than any earthly one. Thus, antichrist will not be able to mark us with 666.
Revelation 13:18
13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is666.
For students, if the wisdom from God is able to face antichrist that reigns over the world, it will also be able to help us in our study.
The Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword also sanctifies the joints and marrow.
The joint is the connection between two bones. It refers to our relation with the other members of the body of Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:3
3:3 for you are still carnal. For where there areenvy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like meremen?
The joint must be sanctified from envy and strife. Envy happens because one does not appreciate the blessing, usage, and mercy from God. Envy equals to jealousy within marriage. It must be solved. If it is not solved, the marriage feels as death.
Genesis 30:1
30:1 Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!”
If there is conflict because of sin, it must be reconciled.
If there is conflict because of the Word, we must return to the Bible.
2 Corinthians 12:20
12:20 For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and thatI shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there becontentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults;
If one does not want to be sanctified from jealousies and contentions, there will be outburst of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, and tumults. His life will be heavy.
If the joint is sanctified from jealousies and contentions, we will experience peace. Everything will be easy and light.
Proverbs 17:22
17:22 A merry heart does good, likemedicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones.
We must also be sanctified from dried marrow, that is broken spirit, being desperate and disappointed, not being passionate anymore in spiritual matter.
Proverbs 15:13
15:13 A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance,
But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
If the marrow is sanctified, we will always give thank to God, whatever God lets be happened in our life.
- Sanctification of the deeds.
Isaiah 27:1
27:1 In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong,
Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,
Leviathan that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that isin the sea.
That is sanctification from Leviathan who reigns over the sea. It equals to sanctification from Babylon.
Revelation 17:1-2,5,15
17:1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,
17:2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
17:5 And on her forehead a name waswritten: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT,
THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
17:15 Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.
It means as follows.
- Sanctification from sins up to the peak of sins, that is sins concerning eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, consuming drugs) and marrying-being given in marriage (sexuality sin with all its variety).
- Sanctification from false teaching that teaches about prosperity and fleshly entertainment without sanctification, so there is the spirit of fornication.
- Sanctification from unfaithfulness in ministering God
- Sanctification from egoism or self-interest, unwillingness to give and visit the others who are in need physically and moreover spiritually.
Isaiah 14:23
14:23 “I will also make it a possession for the porcupine,
And marshes of muddy water; I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” says the Lord of hosts.
- Sanctification of the mouth.
Psalm 149:6
149:6 Letthe high praises of God bein their mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand,
The mouth can glorify and exalt God through good and right words. The mouth can testify.
Matthew 21:16
21:16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read,‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have perfected praise’?”
At last, our mouth is as the mouth of babes. We only cry and worship God. We become the house of prayer.
The results are as follows.
- The merciful hands of God embrace us, that is taking care of us in the middle of difficulties in this world and protecting us from all disasters and distress.
Isaiah 49:14-16
49:14 But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me,
And my Lord has forgotten me.”
49:15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
49:16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls arecontinually before Me.
- The merciful hands of God are able to help us and make healing miracle. All problems even the impossible ones are solved.
Isaiah 38:1-5
38:1 In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’”
38:2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord,
38:3 and said, “Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what isgood in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
38:4 And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying,
38:5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years.
- The merciful hands of God are able to lift up our life and give us beautiful and successful future.
Exodus 2:6
2:6 And when she opened it,she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”
God blesses us.
