Matthew 25:1,1325:1 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
25:13 "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."
The Church of God (the virgins) must be watchful always to be ready in welcoming Jesus' second coming in glory as King of kings, as heavenly Bridegroom.
All things we get in the world such as intelligence, riches, et cetera will be vain and useless if we cannot welcome Jesus' second coming.
What must be prepared is
our burning lamp.
Two requirements to keep our lamp to burn continually are below:- [Matthew 25:5-7] Receiving Bride Tidings = the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.
- Having oil for supply in vessel.
Matthew 25:2-4
25:2 "Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
25:3 "Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
25:4 "but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
ad. 2. Having oil for supply.Having the oil for supply = being anointed and filled with Holy Spirit to the fullness until overflowing in Holy Spirit.
The Church of God is as ten virgins who can be divided into two groups as follows:
- Five wise virgins having the oil for supply.
- Five foolish virgins having no oil for supply.
Five foolish virginsThe foolish virgins are the Church of God who does not have the oil for supply so the lamp is almost quenched even already quenched and cannot welcome Jesus' second coming; being left when Jesus comes a second time and perished forever.
Galatians 3:33:3 Are you so foolish?Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?Foolish virgins are those who begin in the spirit but end in the carnality; losing the anointing of Holy Spirit, there is no oil. They begin with spiritual men but end with carnal men who cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven and perish forever.
The examples are in the following:- King Saul
1 Samuel 10:1,6
10:1 Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head, and kissed him and said: "Is it not because the LORD has anointed you commander over His inheritance?
10:6 "Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.
King Saul refers to spiritual man in the anointing of Holy Spirit.
1 Samuel 16:14
16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him.
Nevertheless, he became carnal man at the end.
Why did it happen?
- It was because of disobedience to the Lord's commandment.
1 Samuel 13:13
13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which He commanded you. For now the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
Eve had been disobedient also because of eating the forbidden fruit.
Lot's wife also had been disobedient only because of looking behind.
Do not play about obedience! Being disobedient in little thing will create a carnal man.
- It was caused by angry without any cause, jealousy, hatred, and murder.
1 Samuel 18:7-9,11
18:7 So the women sang as they danced, and said: "Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands."
18:8 Then Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, "They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?"
18:9 So Saul eyed Davidfrom that day forward.
18:11 And Saul cast the spear, for he said, "I will pin David to the wall!" But David escaped his presence twice.
Murder can happen physically or spiritually through slandering other people. In such condition, one is losing the anointing of Holy Spirit.
As the consequence, Saul lost the anointing as well as his kingdom.
Meaning we cannot enter into the eternal kingdom of heaven; being perished forever.
- Galatians
Galatians 3:3
3:3 Are you so foolish?Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
Why can spiritual men turn to carnal men?
- Departing from faith to Jesus and returning to the Law.
Galatians 3:1-2
3:1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?
3:2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 2:16
2:16 "knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the lawbut by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
None may fulfill all contents of the Law (the complete Ten Commandments), so none may be justified by the works of the Law.
Only Jesus, a man who is able to fulfill all contents of the Law.
Therefore, human being is justified and lives righteously by the faith to Jesus who has been dead on the cross.
Spiritual man becomes carnal one = leaving Jesus and returning to the Law = not being justified and not living in righteousness = living in sins and the curse.
- Leaving the true teaching and receiving the false one.
Galatians 1:6-8
1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
1:7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
In short, Galatians did not live in righteousness and got lost = losing the salvation = perdition.
- Judas
Judas is called and chosen by the Lord to be His apostle and treasurer. He was indeed spiritual man but being replaced by Matthias because he became carnal man.
Do not lack in diligence, do not be unfaithful nor leave the ministry!
Being replaced, one cannot get back his position as Judas has experienced.
Why did Judas from spiritual man turn to carnal man?
- It was because he was a thief having the root of all wickedness,i.e. stealing God's possession (tithes and special offerings) and the possession of other people.
John 12:3-6
12:3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
12:4 Then one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said,
12:5 "Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?"
12:6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.
Acts 1:16-18,26
1:16 "Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;
1:17 "for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry."
1:18 (Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out.
1:26 And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
The wise Church of God begins with the carnal man but ends with spiritual man being able to welcome Jesus' second coming. The example of wise virgin is a woman anointing Jesus.Luke 7:36-387:36 Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee's house, and sat down to eat.
7:37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil,
7:38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. This woman was unclean as a rotten carnal man but she could have the anointing oil of Holy Spirit and became spiritual man.
Process to be spiritual man from the carnal man is below:- Being at Jesus' feet behind Him = humbling ourselves when hearing the true Word of God= being serious in hearing the Word = giving great chance to the Word of God to show our hidden sins until we feel so unworthy before Him.
- Washing Jesus' feet with her tears = confessing sins uprightly to the Lord and other people.
Being forgiven, do not repeat the sins.
- Wiping Jesus' feet with the hair of her head = throwing away all prides until we feel powerless at all. Feeling so unworthy and powerless, the anointing oil will be poured to us.
The function of the anointing oil of Holy Spirit is below:- Holy Spirit is able to raise something/someone from the dead.
Romans 8:11
8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the deaddwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Meaning as follows:
- Holy Spirit raises our dead spirituality.
Maybe we are already hopeless, disappointed, and weak but Holy Spirit is able to raise us.
- Holy Spirit preserves our physical life as well as our future life miraculously.
- Holy Spirit is able to solve all our problems even the impossible one; there is a miracle.
- Holy Spirit renews and changes our life to become spiritual man as Jesus is.
Titus 3:5
3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
The sign of new man isthere is no more uncleanness but obedience in all matters, not stealing, not lying and there is no more anger.
Ephesians 4:23-26,28
4:23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
4:24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
4:25 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.
4:26 "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
4:28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
We are renewed to be as glorious as Jesus is when He comes again.
God blesses you.
