Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 2-3 is about the seven sprinklings of blood before the Ark of the Covenant, that is the last sanctification to the seven churches of the Gentiles or all of us, until we are perfect and blameless as Jesus. Although we have many excellences, but if there is a blemish, everything will be useless.
Revelation 3:7-13 is about the church in Philadelphia.
Revelation 3:73:7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”:There are three appearances of Jesus to the church in Philadelphia as follows.
- Jesus appears as He who is true to call and justify the congregation.
- Jesus appears as He who is holy to choose and sanctify the congregation.
- Jesus appears as He who has the key of David.
The physical key of David is the key of the kingdom of Israel held by King David. It is given only to one who is worthy to receive it, that is Solomon. Adonijah cannot snatch it.
The spiritual key of David is the key of the kingdom of Heaven held by Jesus. It is given only to one who is worthy to receive it. Who is worthy to receive the key of David?
- One who continues in the faith and is willing to suffer with Jesus [Acts 14:22].
- One who is obedient [Matthew 7:21].
- Children in spiritual meaning [Mark 10:15].
Where can we get the key of David?
1 Samuel 16:11-1216:11 And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.” 16:12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he wasruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this isthe one!”God asks Samuel to look for the successor of King Saul who is disobedient. God displeases when Samuel sees the brothers of David who are great. God does not see the outer appearance, but He sees the heart. Samuel asks Jesse to bring David who is shepherding the sheep.
Thus, we get the key of David in the good and right shepherding system. The signs are as follows.
- We are as branches that abide on the true vine, meaning we are shepherded to the true teaching Word. It is the Word that is revealed by God through a verse explains the other verses in the Holy Bible.
1 Chronicles 28:11,19
28:11 Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the vestibule, its houses, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner chambers, and the place of the mercy seat;
28:19 “All this,” said David,“the Lord made me understand in writing, by Hishand upon me, all the works of these plans.”
The direction is building the perfect body of Christ, who is ready to welcome His second coming on the glorious clouds.
The main task of a pastor or a shepherd is feeding the sheep. The main task of the sheep is eating the Word.
Be careful since there are branches that are detached from the true vine. They become dry branches, meaning unwilling to be shepherded, being without the true teaching Word as the center. It can be detected from dry words (mouth) and words that criticize the true teaching Word. Dry branches are only to be burnt and destroyed forever.
- Persevering in the shepherding pen.
Now it refers to perseverance in three main services. In the Tabernacle, the shepherding pen is represented by the Holy Place. There are three types of equipment inside it as follows.
- Table of Showbread refers to perseverance in Bible Study Service with Holy Communion. We experience fellowship with the Son of God in the true teaching Word and the sacrifice of Christ.
It makes David has ruddy cheeks [1 Samuel 16:12], meaning life who has the sign of blood, that is willing to experience flesh suffering to be sanctified and purified by the Word and Holy Communion.
1 Corinthians 5:7-8
5:7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened breadof sincerity and truth.
Purity means being sanctified into the heart. Let us limit our life with purity and righteousness wherever we are. If we are right and pure, we will live in the ambience of Heaven in the middle of this cursed world.
- Golden Candlestick refers to perseverance in General Service. We have fellowship with Holy Spirit God in His gifts.
It makes David has bright eyes [1 Samuel 16:12], meaning our sight directs to the fields of God that are already white for harvest. We are faithful and fervent in spirit in ministering God, according to the ministry and gifts of Holy Spirit entrusted by Him to us, up to the end line, that is until we die or He comes a second time.
1 Samuel 17:38-39
17:38 So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail.
17:39 David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off.
David keeps the robe of ministry as a shepherd. Likewise, we must keep the ministry trusted by God up to the end line. There must be no envy or revenge to the others, because the consequence is being unable to walk. We must be able to work together with the others.
The robe of ministry is the beautiful tunic. We must keep it up to the end line so our life is beautiful to the end line.
- Golden Altar of Incense refers to perseverance in Prayer Service. We have fellowship with Father God in His love.
It makes David good-looking [1 Samuel 16:12], meaning experiencing life renewal from the flesh man to the spiritual one as Jesus. It equals to receiving adornment from God.
1 Peter 3:4-5
3:4 rather let it bethe hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beautyof a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
3:5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands,
Adornment from God is being gentle, quiet, and submissive.
Being gentle means being able to receive the Word of God that is sharper than any two-edged sword. Being gentle is also the ability to forgive the sin of the others and forget it.
Being quiet means not saying negative comments, but correcting ourselves more through the sharpness of the sword of the Word. If there is sin, it must be solved.
Being submissive means being obedient, as Sarah obeys Abraham.
Acts 13:22
13:22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the sonof Jesse, a man after My ownheart, who will do all My will.’
Men are born physically with every intent of the thoughts of the heart is only evil continually [Genesis 6:5]. They grieve their parents, pastor, and God.
1 Peter 3:20-21
3:20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while theark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
3:21 There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
Where can we get an obedient heart? We can get it through the true water baptism, that is one who has repented must be buried in water together with Jesus, to be raised with Him in new life that has an obedient heart.
Romans 6:4
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Jesus is obedient until He dies on the cross. We must also be obedient until the flesh does not sound anymore. The example is Abraham who is obedient to offer his son.
1 Samuel 16:12-13
16:12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he wasruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this isthe one!”
16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.
Since David was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking, he was anointed. Now it means that through the shepherding pen, we receive the key of David. Living in righteousness and purity, being faithful and fervent in spirit up to the end line, and being obedient equal to stretching out our hands to God. Thus, He will stretch out His hands to give the key of David to us. It is the goodness and mercy of God. We are always within His good and merciful hands. Every step and heartbeat of our life is marked with His goodness and mercy.
The results of receiving the key of David are as follows.
- Opening the victory door over Goliath, meaning as follows.
- Overcoming the flesh that becomes a giant in its desire and lust to the sin concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage.
If there is the key of David, we will be directed to the unity and purity of marriage.
- Overcoming impossible problems.
The key of David is able to erase impossibilities.
- Opening the lifting door, meaning the good and merciful hands of God are able to make our life beautiful and successful in His time. The good and merciful hands of God also lift us up from downfalls.
- Opening the door of Heaven.
Deuteronomy 11:11-14
11:11 but the land which you cross over to possess isa land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven,
11:12 a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God arealways on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.
11:13 ‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,
11:14 then I will give youthe rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
It means that the goodness and mercy of God are able to pour the rain of blessing so we lack of nothing.
God blesses us.
