Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 2-3 is about the last sanctification to the seven churches of the Gentiles or all of us, until we are perfect and blameless as Jesus, to be worthy to welcome His second coming.
Although we have many excellences, but if there is a blemish, we will be left on His second coming and destroyed forever.
Revelation 3:7-13 is about the church in Philadelphia.
Revelation 3:73:7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”:There are three appearances of Jesus to the church in Philadelphia as follows.
- Jesus appears as He who is true to call and justify the congregation.
- Jesus appears as He who is holy to choose and sanctify the congregation.
- Jesus appears as He who has the key of David.
ad. 3. Jesus appears as He who has the key of David.
The physical key of David is the key of the kingdom of Judah held by King David. It is given only to one who is worthy to receive it, that is Solomon. Adonijah cannot snatch it.
The spiritual key of David is the key of the kingdom of Heaven held by Jesus. It is given only to one who is worthy to receive it.
Acts 14:2214:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting themto continue in the faith, and saying,“We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”Who is worthy to receive the key of David?
- The servant of God who continues in the faith.
The practices are as follows.
- Being unshaken.
1 Thessalonians 3:2-3
3:2 and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith,
3:3 that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.
It means that the faith is not doubtful in facing the things as follows.
- Temptation and problem up to the impossible one. We keep believing and putting our hope to the power of God. We do not put our hope to the others.
- Affliction and suffering because of Jesus. We do not grumble or get disappointed and desperate. We keep giving thanks to God.
- Tease of sin up to its peak, that is sin concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage. We keep living in righteousness.
- Not being moved away from the hope of the gospel preached by Paul the apostle.
Colossians 1:23
1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
There are two types of the gospel preached by Paul the apostle as follows.
- Gospel of salvation/ the gospel Word/ Good News/ milk.
Ephesians 1:13
1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
It is the gospel that preaches about Jesus’ first coming as the only sinless man who has to die on the cross to redeem sinful men. Thus, the gospel of salvation preaches about Jesus who is crucified. It contains the wisdom and power of God to save sinful men.
1 Corinthians 1:23-24
1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,
1:24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Matthew 3:5-9
3:5 Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him
3:6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
3:8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,
3:9 and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as ourfather.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
Fleeing from the wrath to come means fleeing from the doomsday and the hell. It means salvation. All sinful men can be saved and there is no exception. The process is as follows.
- Having faith and believing Jesus as the only Savior through hearing the Word of Christ, that is the Word anointed by Holy Spirit.
- Repenting, meaning stopping sinning to return to God, dying to sin.
- Entering water baptism.
Romans 6:4
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The true water baptism is one who has died to sin must be buried in water with Jesus, to be raised with Him and receive new life, that is the Heavenly life. The brood of vipers becomes the descendant of Abraham who lives by faith. It equals to living in righteousness.
Galatians 3:7
3:7 Therefore know that onlythose who are of faith are sons of Abraham.
- Holy Spirit baptism.
Matthew 3:11
3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Holy Spirit baptism is to firm the salvation, so we live in righteousness and become the instrument of righteousness. We become the servants of God who minister Him with faithfulness and righteousness. If one is not faithful, surely he will not be right.
Thus, persevering in faith means not being moved away from the gospel of salvation. It equals to not being moved away from living in righteousness and becoming the instrument of righteousness.
Persevering in faith also means testifying about the gospel of salvation to one who has not believed Jesus and repented, started from the family.
- The light of the gospel of the glory of Christ/ the true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword/ Bride Tidings/ solid food.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
It is the gospel that preaches about Jesus’ second coming in glory as the King of kings and the Heavenly Bridegroom on the glorious clouds. It is to sanctify and renew us until we are perfect and blameless as Him. We become the Heavenly bride.
Colossians 1:27-28
1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
1:28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
Bride Tidings contains the wisdom and power of God to sanctify and perfect the saved lives, until we become the Heavenly bride.
Thus, persevering in faith means not being moved away from the true teaching Word. We keep holding fast and being obedient to the true teaching Word, so we live in continuous holiness up to perfection. We are as branches that abide on the true vine. We are well and right shepherded.
John 15:1-3
15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
15:2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branchthat bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
15:3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
In the shepherding, we experience intensive sanctification by the Word said by Jesus Himself. It is the Word whose secret is revealed through one verse explains the other verses in the Holy Bible. It is until we produce permanent fruits, that is the fruits of Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23
5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
5:23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
If we are not moved away from the gospel of salvation and the teaching Word, the results are as follows.
- How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News and Bride Tidings.
Romans 10:15
10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
It means as follows.
- God cares and protects our life, so we are not fall or destroyed by anything.
- Successful and beautiful future in God.
- We are used until we become the Heavenly bride who is ready to welcome His second coming.
Psalm 68:11
68:11 The Lord gave the word;
Great wasthe company of those who proclaimed it:
Song of Solomon 6:10
6:10 Who is she who looks forth as the morning,
Fair as the moon, Clear as the sun,
Awesome as an armywith banners?
- The servant of God who frequently experiences the cross or sprinkling of blood.
Acts 14:22
14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting themto continue in the faith, and saying,“We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
2 Timothy 3:12
3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
1 Peter 4:12-14
4:12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
4:13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
4:14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you,for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
We have to experience the cross so we receive the Spirit of glory and Shekinah Glory.
The usefulness of the Holy Spirit is as follows.
- Holy Spirit makes us strong and of good courage. We are not disappointed or desperate. We do not leave God in facing anything. We are joyful in the midst of suffering and keep holding on in waiting for His second coming. We keep being faithful and fervent in spirit in ministering Him.
Psalm 27:14
27:14 Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
- Holy Spirit renews our life from the flesh man to the spiritual one as Jesus.
Titus 3:5
3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
1 Peter 4:15-16
4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters.
4:16 Yet if anyone suffersas a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.
A murderer is renewed to one who loves the others as loving himself, even loves the enemy.
A thief or an evildoer is renewed to one who can give.
A busybody in other people’s matters is renewed to a peacemaker.
If spiritual miracle happens, the physical one will also happen. The impossible problem will be made possible. When Jesus comes a second time, the last miracle is we are renewed to become as glorious as Him. We become the Heavenly bride who is ready to welcome His coming on the glorious clouds. We enter the New Jerusalem forever.
God blesses us.
