Peace and grace in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28 is about Shekinah Glory or the light of glory.
There is light of glory behind death or cross experience with Jesus.
Matthew 28:1-2
28:1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first dayof the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
28:2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.The light of glory shines the dark heart to become gentle heart, so there is renewal of life from carnal man to become spiritual man as Jesus.
Matthew 28:3-5
28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
28:4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
28:5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. What must be renewed are the countenance, the clothing, and the feelings. We are still discussing the renewal of the feelings.
The fear feeling must be renewed since fear causes physical and spiritual death.
The term 'do not be afraid' means the fear feeling is renewed so there is no more fear.
1 John 4:17-18
4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. There is no more fear means we have the perfect love. The perfect love casts out the fear, even gives us boldness to come before God.
There are three types of boldness as follows.
- Boldness in the day of judgment.
1 John 4:17
4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
There are five things that will be judged as follows.
- Sinful deeds, those are evil and unclean sins.
2 Corinthians 5:10
5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things donein the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Evil sins will peak on the love of money (being stingy and greedy). Stinginess means unwillingness to give. Greediness means robbing the others’ right.
Unclean sins will peak on sins concerning eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, consuming drugs) and marrying-being given in marriage (sexuality sin with all its varieties).
- Idle word.
Matthew 12:36
12:36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
- Everything that is hidden in our heart and mind.
Romans 2:16
2:16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
- The judgment we do to the others.
Matthew 7:1-2
7:1 “Judge not, that you be not judged.
7:2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
- Egoism (the character of sin), meaning not doing something that has been asked by the Word for the building of the body of Christ or for the others.
Matthew 25:41-42
25:41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
25:42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
1 Peter 4:8
4:8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
The perfect love covers a multitude of sins up to the peak of sins, also the characters of sin.
The process is the Word of God that is sharper than any two-edged sword points our sins so we can realize, regret, and confess our sins to God and the others. Thus, the blood of Jesus will cover and forgive our sins.
Proverbs 24:16
24:16 For a righteous manmay fall seven times
And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.
We as human are still doing sins, but we must not live in sins. We must reconcile our sins.
The terms ‘a righteous manmay fall seven times
And rise again’ mean as follows.
- Life who repeats sins still gets chance to be lifted up again through the preaching of the Word of God that is repeated. It refers to the shepherding Word.
- Life who falls in perfect sin (number seven denotes perfection) still can be helped through the perfect love.
As long as we still want to use the perfect love to cover sins, we should not be worried and desperate in facing sins.
Revelation 6:15-17
6:15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,
6:16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
6:17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
If one preserves sins, no matter how great he is, he will be afraid and desperate in facing the wrath of God, even he will be perished forever.
- Boldness toward God (boldness to pray).
1 John 3:21-22
3:21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
The requirement is our heart does not condemn us, or a peaceful heart.
We can get the peaceful heart in the sheepfold. There, the Great Shepherd is shaping us so we have the peaceful heart.
The peaceful heart has no worry, doubt, and bitterness. The peaceful heart is filled with the perfect love.
Hebrews 4:16
4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
With the peaceful heart, we have the boldness to pray and come to the throne of the High Priest. We can stretch out our hands to God, believe and fully surrender our life to Him. Thus, the hands of the High Priest will be stretched out to help us and solve our problems in His time.
Be careful with strange voice, because it will lead us to downfall and perdition.
We must be patient to wait for God’s time. When He has not helped us yet, it means He is still busy with our life (our deeds, words, and characters).
As long as we have the peaceful heart, or we are well shepherded, we must not be afraid and worried in facing anything. We only surrender to God, believe and fully surrender to God.
- Boldness to welcome Jesus’ second coming on the glorious clouds.
1 John 2:28
2:28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
We must be watchful so we will not be afraid and ashamed before Him in His second coming. If we are afraid and ashamed, we will be left and destroyed together with the world.
Numbers 12:1,10,12-14
12:1 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married; for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
12:10 And when the cloud departed from above the tabernacle, suddenly Miriam becameleprous, as white assnow. Then Aaron turned toward Miriam, and there she was, a leper.
12:12 Please do not let her be as one dead, whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb!”
12:13 So Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, “Please heal her, O God, I pray!”
12:14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not be shamed seven days? Let her be shut out of the camp seven days, and afterward she may be received again.”
The thing that makes one afraid and ashamed is leprosy, that is self-truth sin. Usually, the self-truth sin will be followed by self-interest (egoism) and self-desire (disobedience).
If one always blames the others, being egoistic and disobedient, he will be afraid and ashamed during his life in the world. He will also be afraid and ashamed when Jesus comes a second time, and will be left and destroyed together with the world.
If we are willing to confess our sins, the perfect love will erase all our fear and shame. God is still beautifying our life.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
Jesus is spat on the cross to erase all our fear and shame. He will make everything beautiful in His time. The most beautiful one is when He will renew us to become as glorious as Him in His second coming.
God blesses us.
