Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 3:7-13 is about the church in Philadelphia.
Revelation 3:73:7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”:Jesus appears as He who has the key of David to do three great things as follows.
- [Revelation 3:8] To open the door that no one can shut.
- [Revelation 3:9] To give us victory over the synagogue of Satan.
- [Revelation 3:10] To keep us from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world.
ad. 2. To give us victory over the synagogue of Satan.
Revelation 3:93:9 Indeed I will make thoseof the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.The synagogue of Satan consists of people who say they are Jews or Christians, but actually are not. Their deeds and words do not represent Christians.
Deuteronomy 23:323:3 “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendantsshall enter the assembly of the Lord forever,The Ammonite and the Moabite are not included as the assembly of God. They are the synagogues of Satan.
Genesis 19:36-3819:36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father. 19:37 The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; he isthe father of the Moabites to this day.19:38 And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi; he isthe father of the people of Ammon to this day.The Ammonite and the Moabite are the descendants of Abraham, but they are not in the assembly of God. Thus, the synagogues of Satan are people who say they are the descendants of Abraham but not in the assembly of God.
There are four main reasons why the Ammonite and the Moabite are not in the assembly of God but the synagogue of Satan.
- Having fleshly sight and thus rejecting the sight of the cross.
Genesis 13:10,14-15
13:10 And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it waswell watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar.
13:14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward;
13:15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.
The sight of Abraham is the sight of the cross.
The Ammonite and the Moabite have fleshly sight and reject the sight of the cross. They do not want to experience flesh suffering with Jesus. It equals to looking for the things that please the flesh. They follow the sight and desire of the flesh although it contradicts with the will of God.
The consequences are as follows.
- Entering the company of Sodom and Gomorrah, that is the company of the world that causes one to look behind, meaning being unfaithful and leaving the ministry.
- Being far from Canaan, meaning being far from the Heaven. One is dragged and destroyed together with the world.
- There are sins concerning eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, consuming drugs) and marrying-being given in marriage (sexuality sins with all its variety, sexual deviation, wrong marriage, mix marriage, marrying-divorcing).
Genesis 19:35-38
19:35 Then they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
19:36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.
19:37 The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; he isthe father of the Moabites to this day.
19:38 And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi; he isthe father of the people of Ammon to this day.
Lot drinks wine and sleeps with his daughters. It means falling in sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage. The consequence is breaking the marriage so it is far from the marriage supper of the Lamb of God or the perfect marriage.
- Not giving bread and water to the Israelites who are on their way to Canaan. It equals to egoism.
Deuteronomy 23:3-4
23:3 “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendantsshall enter the assembly of the Lord forever,
23:4 because they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.
Egoism means as follows.
- Not loving the others. It equals to not loving God and being without love.
1 John 4:20-21
4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
4:21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God mustlove his brother also.
The practice of having no love is being disobedient.
- Being unwilling to be active in the ministry of building the body of Christ or the revival of Holy Spirit in the last days, although there are chances.
Egoism equals to being the goat on the left. This kind of life is cursed, weary, and heavy laden. They are in sadness and far from the blessing of God.
- There is false teaching.
Deuteronomy 23:4b
23:4 ... and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.
There are many kinds of false teaching. This verse only mentions the teaching of Balaam.
The teaching of Balaam is false teaching that prioritizes physical salary in the ministry, but not the Word of God. It equals to looking for physical benefit in the ministry although it contradicts with the Word.
If the Word is not the priority, the congregation will be bound by sins and money, so they become stingy and greedy. It equals to ministering and worshiping antichrist, being equal with him and marked 666, up to being destroyed forever.
2 Chronicles 20:1-2
20:1 It happened after this thatthe people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and otherswith them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Jehoshaphat.
20:2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar” (which isEn Gedi). The synagogue of Satan always fights against the congregation of God. The synagogue of Satan is greater and stronger than the congregation of God, and ready to destroy the congregation of God.
The congregation of God in the last days is just as the church in Philadelphia who has a little strength.
How is the attitude of the congregation of God?
2 Chronicles 20:320:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. We must seek God through fasting prayer.
Matthew 6:176:17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,The true fasting prayer is with anointing the head and washing the face.
Anointing the head means the thought is anointed by Holy Spirit.
Washing the face (heart) means the heart must be sanctified by the Word of God.
Thus, the true fasting prayer is giving an ample chance for the Word in the anointing of Holy Spirit to sanctify our life, starting from our heart and thought that are the store of sins.
Mark 7:21-227:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 7:22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. If our heart is sanctified, our eyes will see God.
Matthew 5:85:8 Blessed arethe pure in heart, For they shall see God.2 Chronicles 20:1220:12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes areupon You.”Our eyes are upon God. The practices are as follows.
- Reconciling with God and the others. We confess and forgive one another.
Hebrews 12:14
12:14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
Thus the blood of Jesus washes our sins, so we can live in righteousness. Living in righteousness equals to having peace, so everything becomes easy and light.
- Confessing that we are powerless. It equals to confessing that we are as an earthen vessel that longs to be filled with the power from the Heaven, that is the true teaching Word.
2 Chronicles 20:12
20:12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitudethat is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes areupon You.”
2 Corinthians 4:7-9
4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
4:8 We arehard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we areperplexed, but not in despair;
4:9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—
The excellence of the power from the Heaven is so that we are neither desperate nor disappointed in facing anything, as well as not proud of something. We keep being obedient and faithful to God.
- Confessing that we do not know what we must do. We confess that we are as an earthen vessel that can do nothing. We fully surrender our life to God, worship Him, and stretch out our hands to Him.
2 Chronicles 20:12
20:12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do,but our eyes areupon You.”
Thus, the good and merciful hands of God (the key of David) will be stretched out and miracle will happen. The great multitude becomes dead bodies. We win together with God.
2 Chronicles 20:17,24,28
20:17 You will not needto fight in this battle.Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord iswith you.”
20:24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there weretheir dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.
20:28 So they came to Jerusalem, with stringed instruments and harps and trumpets, to the house of the Lord.
Further, we are encouraged to enter the house of God or the shepherding pen, that is perseverance in three main services as follows.
- Golden Candlestick refers to perseverance in General Service. We have fellowship with Holy Spirit God in His gifts.
- Table of Showbread refers to perseverance in Bible Study Service with Holy Communion. We have fellowship with the Son of God in the Word and the sacrifice of Christ.
- Golden Altar of Incense refers to perseverance in Prayer Service. We have fellowship with Father God in His love.
In the shepherding pen, our body, spirit, and soul cling to God the Trinity and we cannot be touched by the synagogue of Satan.
If we have become as a dead body as Lazarus, God is able to raise us in the shepherding pen. Failure will be changed into success, the destroyed thing will be made good, and the unclean thing will be sanctified. When Jesus comes a second time, we will be renewed as perfect as Him, to be worthy to welcome Him on the glorious clouds and see Him face to face forever.
God blesses us.
