Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mark 9: 2-49:2. Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfiguredbefore them.
9:3 His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
9:4 And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
Jesus appeared with shining face in the glory with white shining clothes on the mountain. There were Moses and Elijah also there. This refers to a prophecy.
Revelation 21: 9-1121:9. Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife."
21:10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
21:11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.
They were on a mountain, referring to a city upon a mountain, namely New Jerusalem.
Jesus who appeared with shining face in the glory with white shining clothes refers to Jesus as the
Heavenly Bridegroom.
Moses and Elijah refer to the Church that has experienced the sanctification and renewal up to perfection until the face shines and the clothes are white and shining. It refers to the appearance of
the perfect bride of God.
Thus, there are three people who appear in glory, namely Jesus, Moses, and Elijah. Why? Because
they have the figure forty.
Jesus fasts forty days and forty nights and Moses does too. Elijah walks forty days and forty nights and reaches the mountain of God or Mount Horeb.
The meaning of figure forty is the finishing to the flesh until it does not speak anymore.
Genesis 7: 12, 22-237:12. And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.
7:22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died.
7:23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.
It is like the rain for forty days and forty nights for punishing the flesh until it does not speak anymore or the flesh is finished or put to death. One does not do the will or desire of the flesh, regardless of any risk he has to take, but says '
Abba, Father'
One will easily say '
Abba, Father' to be obedient if the flesh has been put to death. He will not sin anymore.
Romans 8: 13-158:13. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
'
put to death the deeds of the body'= not following the flesh desires and ambition.
We will learn about the people whose flesh does not speak anymore one by one.
JESUSMark 14: 3614:36. And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will."
When Jesus faced the cup or the suffering in the flesh without any sin, His flesh still spoke '
Take this cup away from Me' because Jesus had to die although He was sinless. But, He did not stop. He said '
nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will'= His flesh did not speak anymore.
Jesus was obedient, regardless of any risk He had to take ('
Abba, Father') although He had to suffer.
1 Peter 2: 21-242:21. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
2:22 "Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth";
2:23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.
The examples that Jesus' flesh has been put to death are as follows.
- 'when He was reviled, did not revile in return'.
- 'when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously'. He becomes a pattern. He willingly puts His flesh to death to be obedient.
Philippians 2: 9-112:9. Therefore God also has highly exalted Himand given Him the name which is above every name,
2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2: 5-8= the obedience of Jesus until His flesh does not speak.
As a result, He appears in glory.
MOSESExodus 34: 28-2934:28. So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
34:29 Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses' hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shonewhile he talked with Him.
Moses fasted forty days and forty nights. He was obedient and put his flesh with the desires to death.
He wrote Ten Commandments on the two tablets of stone while fasting forty days and forty nights.
The sons or servants of God that are obedient will be written with the Word in the heart until perfect.
Verse 29= '
the skin of his face shone' after Moses fasted forty days and forty nights. It means that our face will shine like Jesus' after our flesh is put to death. We are obedient regardless of any risk we have to take, and our heart is written with the Word.
Jeremiah 17: 117:1. "The sinof Judah is written with a pen of iron; With the point of a diamond it is engraved On the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of your altars,
On the contrary, if the heart keeps hard, sinful, and disobedient, it will be written with sin, even engraved or the sin cannot be removed easily. Moreover, it is impossible to remove it and it is written on the horns of altars. The sin is eternal and there is no forgiveness from God anymore.
Moses represents the Church that experiences the death and resurrection.
Deuteronomy 34: 5-634:5. So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.
34:6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day.
After he died, no one knows his grave to this day.
Jude 1: 91:9.Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
He has been lifted up or resurrected by God and
becomes the bride of God in glory.
ELIJAH1 Kings 18: 1818:18. And he answered, "I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father's house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the LORDand have followed the Baals.
Elijah was accused by Ahab because of troubling Israel.
Elijah was obedient to keep on holding fast the true teaching Word regardless of the risk he had to take. He could defeat four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal.
It meansthat we will defeat the false teachings and hold fast one true teaching Word if we are obedient.
As a result, Elijah could go to the mountain of God. Although he had been hopeless and wanted to die because of facing Jezebel, he could be strong because of being fed by God twice. He could be strong walking forty days and forty nights to the mountain of God.
Elijah represents the Church that is alive and renewed. Elijah does not experience the death until the horse of fire takes him to heaven.
Elijah appears as the perfect bride of God.
Thus, Moses and Elijah appear in glory with Jesus.
It meansthat our death and life do not determine whether we appear as the bride of God or not. It relies on whether we put our flesh to death and obey or hold fast the true teaching Word while we are still alive or not.
The figure forty also refers to the forty years of Jubilee.
The journey of Israelites to the border of Canaan took time for forty years.
One year of Jubilee refers to fifty years, thus forty years of Jubilee refer to two thousand years or the age of the church. That is the time for us to put the flesh and its lusts to death and hold fast or obey the true teaching Word.
It seems so long and now we are in 2015. How is our condition? God is not negligent, but gives His mercy that all of us do not perish, but become His bride.
There are
two possibilitieswhen Jesus comes a second time in His glory as follows.
- Ones who have put to death the flesh will enter the marriage supper of the Lamb and be with God forever.
Revelation 19: 7-8
19:7. "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."
19:8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
They will appear with the fine linen, clean, and bright and shining face (Matthew 13). They will be lifted up to be the perfect bride of God and enter the marriage supper of the Lamb of God.
If they have died, they will be resurrected. If they are still alive, they will be changed to be with God forever.
- Ones who do not put to death the flesh or the flesh is still powerful and speaks with its lusts will enter the feast of slaughter.
Revelation 19: 21
19:21. And the rest were killed with the swordwhich proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
Just choose whether you want to put to death your flesh now or later when Jesus comes. Nevertheless, there will be the difference as follows.
- Putting to death the flesh now, we are lifted up to enter the marriage supper of the Lamb when Jesus comes a second time.
- If the flesh has not been dead when Jesus comes a second time, it will be destroyed.
Jesus appears as the Heavenly Bridegroom and the Church becomes His bride in New Jerusalem. It is a prophecy. It ahs not happened yet, so it is still a news. It is called as
Bride Tidings.
Whom does God trust to preach and obey the Bride Tidings (for the servants of God) and to hear and obey it (for the congregation)?
Mark 9: 2a9:2a. Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves;
- Peter, James, and John.
- God's servants or sons who like going up to the mountain or worshiping Him.
We learn the first one.
Only Peter, James, and John saw Jesus in His glory with Moses and Elijah on the mountain (other disciples did not see).
Galatians 2: 92:9. and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
'
Cephas'= Peter.
James, Peter, and John are the pillars.
God trusts the Bride Tidings to His sons or servants who become
the pillars.
The facts found in being spiritual pillars are as follows.
- 'perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship'= making reconciliation with God (vertical line) and others (horizontal line) through the cross.
1 John 1: 7, 9
1:7. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The ways to make reconciliation are as follows.
- Confessing sin. After being forgiven, do not repeat the sin. As a result, the blood of Jesus will actively do these things.
- Forgiving us our sins.
- Pulling out the roots of sin so that we do not sin anymore.
- Forgiving the sins of others.
All kinds of sin can be reconciled.
Isaiah 1: 18, 20
1:18. "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.
1:20 But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword"; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
It meansthat all kinds of sin can be forgiven. The important thing is we realize and confess our sin (pull out the sin) and do not sin anymore. God is able to restore us.
There is a warningfor us in verse 20. Not confessing the sin, but keeping the self truth and blaming others, one is not trusted with the sword, but destroyed by the sword of judgment of God. There is everlasting perdition.
Revelation 5: 9
5:9. And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
Jesus has died as a slaughtered lamb. Therefore, He can open the sealed scroll.
It meansthat Jesus is able to reveal the prophetic Word. If we use the blood of the Lamb by making reconciliation, we will also receive the prophetic Word, the revelation of God's Word, or Bride Tidings. We must make reconciliation first to understand the Word.
- Being faithful and persevering in waiting for Jesus' second coming and being holy.
Revelation 3: 10-12, 7 (about the church in Philadelphia)
3:10. "Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
3:11 "Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
3:12 "He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
3:7. "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, 'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, "He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens":
1 John 3: 2-3
3:2. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
3:3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
How can we be holy?
The branch must dwell in the true Vine or be shepherded to the true teaching Word regardless of any risk we have to take. Only the true teaching Word can sanctify us.
The true teaching Word is the Word coming out of Jesus' mouth or His speaking written in the Bible, a verse explains other verses in the Bible.
John 15: 3
15:3. "You are already clean because of the word which I have spokento you.
'the word which Ihave spoken'= 'I' refers to Jesus.
Where can we get the sanctification? In the Holy Place by perseverance in doing the three main services to God as follows.
- Golden Candlestick or perseverance in doing General Service.
- Table of Showbread or perseverance in doing Bible Study Service with Holy Communion.
- Golden Altar of Incense or perseverance in doing Prayer Service.
Acts 2: 37-38, 41-42
2:37. Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"
2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptizedin the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
2:41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
2:42 And they continued steadfastlyin the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Verse 37-41 = the journey of our spirituality from believing in Jesus, repenting, and being baptized.
Verse 42= where will we go after being baptized? We must enter Holy Place. It is not the Law because the New Teastament also teaches about the perseverance in doing three main services to God. It means sanctification.
We become as a branch that dwells in the true Vine and God becomes the vinedresser. There will be no loss and failure.
John 15: 1
15:1. "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
- Obeying the Word regardless of any risk we have to take.
Revelation 3: 10
3:10. "Because you have kept My commandto persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
As the conclusion, the pillars (Peter, James, John) God entrusts the Bride Tiding are the people who like making reconciliation, have faithfulness and perseverance in waiting for Jesus' second coming in the right shepherding and have obedience to the Word.
The functions of the revealed Word are as follows.
- Related to John.
John wept because there is no one can open the sealed scroll. After it is opened by the lion of Judah, 'But one of the elders said to me,"Do not weep.(Revelation 5: 5).
It meansthat there will be no tears, sufferings, problems, sorrows, and so on up to in the New Jerusalem if a servant of God is trusted to have the revelation of God's Word and the congregation understands it.
- Related to the church in Philadelphia, the key of David means as follows.
- The key that is able to open the doors of impossibilities.
David had no potential or superiority, comparing to his brothers. He was so young, but appointed as a king.
It meansthat all problems will be solved, even the impossible one, if there is the revelation of God's Word.
- The key that opens the victory over Goliath.
Goliath means as follows.
- Gigantic problem that cannot be solved.
- Sins up to the peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage. The sons of God disobeyed God in the days of Noah. They took wives from the world, whoever they wanted, and giants were born.
- The key of David to open the lifting up door. David fell in adultery with Bathsheba and killed her husband.
David should have been dead, but he got the forgiveness and salvation because of the key of David, as long as not sinning anymore.
- The key of David to open the door of heaven.
- The blessings of heaven are poured out.
- There is a hope that we can enter heavenly kingdom.
- Protecting us from the days of the antichrist.
Revelation 3: 10
3:10. "Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trialwhich shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
It means to evacuate usto the wilderness, far away from the presence of the serpent. We are preserved for three years and a half with the Holy Communion.
God blesses you.
