Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 21:5
21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."In the book of Genesis, God has created heaven and earth with the contents well. He has already created human in the same glorious image as Him to dwell in Garden Eden. The men were directly preserved by God and joyful.
Unfortunately, they were deceived by the serpent and fell in sin. They were naked and ashamed. Moreover, they covered their nakedness with the leaves of fig tree that got dry soon. It means that they were naked again or the problem was not solved. The fig leaves refer to the self-truth, namely covering the sins by blaming others.
The naked and ashamed human were driven out of Garden Eden to enter the world. They got the curse, heavy burden, weariness, thorns, and tears. In the world, they (including the sons of God) did not repent, but kept on sinning up to sin peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage. They were not satisfied, even repetitively did the sins and appeared as dog licking the vomit and swine returning to the wallowing in the mire. They were naked and not ashamed to perish forever.
God is not willing that the human or His servants and sons He has created must be the same as the antichrist and destroyed forever. Therefore,
He creates the new men who are as glorious as He is. He also creates the new heaven and earth, namely New Jerusalem, as the dwelling place of the new men forever.
The process is called as the renewal.
There are four kinds renewal in Revelation 21:1-27 as follows.
- New heaven and earth [verse 1].
- New men [verse 2-3].
- New atmosphere [verse 4-8].
- New Jerusalem [verse 9-27].
ad. 3.
New Atmosphere.
Revelation 21:5-6
21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."
21:6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of lifefreely to him who thirsts.
It means the atmosphere in heavenly satisfaction coming from the living water or Holy Spirit.
John 4:7-10,15-18
4:7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink."
4:8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
4:9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
4:10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."
4:15 The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw."
4:16 Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."
4:17 The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’
4:18 "for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly."
The woman of Samaria is one of the Gentiles.
The Gentiles without Holy Spirit or living water will be thirsty or dry; there is no heavenly satisfaction. Consequently, these two things will happen.
- The Gentiles will look for worldly satisfaction until they fall in sins up to the peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage.
This woman got married and divorced for five times, and then there was no legal marriage anymore. It means marrying-being given in marriage.
- The heart is full of bitterness and the mouth says vain words, lie, slander, gossip, and complaint like a dog licking its vomit.
How great a Gentile is, he will never be satisfied if there is no living water. His life is like the dog and swine, even he perishes forever.
Therefore, the Gentiles (dog and swine) must experience the life renewal to become the sheep that experience the heavenly satisfaction from the living water.
There are two kinds of renewal as follows.
- Double renewal done by the water and Word.
Ephesians 5:25-27
5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
5:27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
It makes the Gentiles, who are like the swine, not return to the wallowing in the mire.
The double renewal or washing is as follows.
- The renewal through water baptism.
1 Peter 2:1-2
2:1 Therefore, laying aside all (1)malice, all (2)deceit, (3)hypocrisy, (4)envy, and all (5)evil speaking,
2:2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
The requirement of the true water baptism is laying aside five main sins, namely malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and evil speaking. It means the repentance.
Romans 6:4
6:4 Therefore we were buriedwith Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raisedfrom the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The implementation of the right water baptism is the Gentiles who have repented or died to sin must be buried or dived in water and raised from it together with Jesus to get the new life. The new life is heavenly one like a newborn baby.
The spiritual baby will always long for the pure spiritual milk or the milk of spiritual mother’s breast. The mother refers to the pastor. Thus, the pure spiritual milk refers to the true Shepherding Word in the anointing of Holy Spirit. The sons of God will always enjoy and obey the true Shepherding Word in the anointing of Holy Spirit. As a result, they can be full, calm, and satisfied.
A pastor does not feed the spiritual babies or the congregation with the Shepherding Word is entrusting the babies to others. It means that he is egoistic. The baby who rejects drinking the milk of mother’s breast is also egoistic.
If we are full and calm, we will grow to the salvation for sure. We live in the righteousness and become the sheep of God. We become the instruments of righteousness or the servants of God. We are used by God up to the perfection as the Bride of God.
- The renewal through the rain water of the true teaching Word.
Deuteronomy 32:1-2
32:1 "Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
32:2 Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass.
The true teaching Word increases from the dew, raindrops, up to the showers. If we patiently read and hear the true teaching Word, it will increase in our life until it becomes the showers to wash us.
After we are washed and dived in the water baptism, we must be washed and dived in the rain water of the true teaching Word. It is especially through the Bible Study Service with Holy Communion.
Colossians 3:5-9
3:5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
3:6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,
3:7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.
3:8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.
3:9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,
The true teaching Word and Holy Communion sanctifies us doubly from the six sins in our outer life and the six ones in our inner life until there is no more lie. It means that we begin to get the renewal.
Colossians 3:10-14
3:10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
3:11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on (1)tender mercies, (2)kindness, (3)humility, (4)meekness, (5)longsuffering;
3:13 bearing with one another, and (6)forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
3:14 But above all these things put on (7)love, which is the bond of perfection.
We are renewed from carnal men to the new ones with these seven signs.
- Tender mercies or not judging the sinners nor supporting them, but bringing them to come to God.
- Kindness.
- Humility or the ability to confess the sin.
- Meekness or ability to receive the Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword.
- Longsuffering or patience in the suffering, not murmuring nor grumbling, and not being hopeless.
It also means the patience in waiting for the time of God. Do not use your own solution that is not in line with the Word because it means the dead end and perdition.
- Forgiving one another and forgetting the sin.
- The love as the bond of perfection. We can be the perfect body of Christ and the Bride of heaven who is worthy to welcome Jesus’ second coming.
- The renewal through worship prayer.
Judges 7:5-6
7:5 So he brought the people down to the water. And the LORD said to Gideon, "Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink."
7:6 And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water.
The dog must lap the water of the love of God through worship prayer so that it does not lick its vomit again. As a result, we experience the renewal from carnal men to spiritual ones like Jesus. It begins from the renewal to our tongue.
John 4:10,13-18
4:10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."
4:13 Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,
4:14 "but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
The tongue is used to confess the sins honestly to God and others, regardless of any risk we have to face.
It means that we give Jesus sour wine mingled with gall to drink on the cross.
John 19:28-30
19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst!"
19:29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.
19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Jesus drank it and said "It is finished". The Lord finishes all our sins and gives us the living water from heaven to drink. If one does not confess the sin, but blames others, he will be thirsty for sure.
The functions of the living water are as follows.
- The living water or Holy Spirit is able to revive the dead or give the life in the midst of impossibilities.
Ezekiel 47:8-9
47:8 Then he said to me: "This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed.
47:9 "And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes.
Physically, Holy Spirit is also able to give us life although we are facing many problems and heal us from our diseases.
Spiritually, Holy Spirit kills the viruses of sin so that we can live in righteousness.
Holy Spirit is able to give us the beautiful and successful future life in His time and solve all impossible problems.
- Holy Spirit gives us the real joy or heavenly one abundantly.
John 7:37
7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
The abundant heavenly joy can be flown to others who are in drought. It also springs up to the everlasting life.
John 4:14
4:14 "but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
We keep on changing until someday we do not stumble in word, but only say "Alleluia". Our face is bright to welcome Jesus’ second coming.
God blesses you.
