Revelation 21:5
21:5. Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."
In the book of Genesis, God created human from clay and they were as perfect and glorious as God. They were put in Paradise, being happy with God.
Unfortunately, they were disturbed by the serpent, so they sinned, got naked, and were cast out of Eden to enter into the world. Human lived in sins up to the peak.
In the book of Revelation, God wants to create men who have been naked, corrupted, and destroyed to become the new men who are as perfect and glorious as Him. God also creates a new heaven and a new earth where there is the New Jerusalem.
The new man who is as perfect and glorious as God is put in the New Jerusalem.
The human who has been corrupted can be created to become as glorious as God. The process is through the renewing.
The fleshly men must experience the renewal of life continuously up to perfection like Jesus.
There are four kinds of renewal in the book of Revelation chapter twenty one as follows:
- [ Revelation 21:1] A new heaven and a new earth.
- [ Revelation 21:2-3] The new man
- [ Revelation 21:4-8] The new atmosphere.
- [ Revelation 21:9-27] The New Jerusalem.
ad. 3.
The new atmosphere.
Revelation 21:4-8
21:4. "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
21:5. Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."
21:6. And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
21:7. "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
21:8. "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
There are four renewals of the new atmosphere as follows:
- [Revelation 21:4] The atmosphere without death, tears, and sorrow.
- [Revelation 21:5-6] The atmosphere of heavenly satisfaction or bliss.
- [Revelation 21:7] The atmosphere of victory.
- [Revelation 21:8] The atmosphere of righteousness, holiness, and perfection of God.
ad. 4.
The atmosphere of righteousness, holiness, and perfection of God.
Revelation 21:821:8. "But the cowardly(1), unbelieving(2), abominable(3), murderers(4), sexually immoral(5), sorcerers(6), idolaters(7), and all liars(8)shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."If we keep the eight sins, we will not have righteousness, holiness, and perfection, so we cannot enter the heaven.
The eight sins are grouped as follows:
- The first and second sins, namely cowardly and unbelieving. They are against the righteousness of God.
- The third up to seventh sins, namely abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, and idolaters. They are against the holiness of God.
- The eighth sin, namely liar. It is against the perfection of God.
The perfection is determined by tongue. If one lies, he will not become true moreover perfect man.
James 3:2
3:2. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
God commands Moses to make Tabernacle (Exodus 25-40), so on earth as it is in heaven.
Tabernacle or heaven has three rooms as follows:
- The Court. It refers to righteousness.
- The Holy Place. It refers to holiness.
- he Most Holy Place. It refers to perfection.
We learn about the first and second sins, namely cowardly and unbelieving. They are against the righteousness, so one cannot enter the Court.
Being cowardly, one is afraid of something until he sins and resists against God.
Consequently, he will face the day of the judgment of God.
1 John 4:17-18
4:17. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
4:18. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Being cowardly, one is without love because he does not love God.
Being unbelieving means being without faith, so one has no hope and love.
So, being cowardly and unbelieving means being without love, so one always fights against God.
That is why we need the love of God to renew us tonight.
How can we get the love of God? The flesh and blood men do not have love but only lust, ambition, and emotion.
We receive the love of God from the things as follows:
- The word of God.
John 14:15
14:15. "If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Hearing and practicing the word are the same as loving God, so we surely love others.
- The cross of God.
Jesus dies on the cross to give His love to us, the sinners.
The proof of receiving the love of God from the cross is that we confess our sins and leave them.
- The worship.
When we worship God, we will receive the sunshine of love from the face of God. It is the same as the increasing love, so we will never get spiritual cold.
Matthew 17:1-2
17:1. Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
17:2. and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
The love of God is able to renew us from fleshly men who are coward and unbelieving to spiritual ones who have boldness in three things as follows:
- Having confidence to face the judgment day or the judgment seat of God.
What will be judged?
- Sinful deeds up to the peak, namely the sins of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse) and marrying-giving in marriage (false marriage, mixed-marriage, and divorce-remarrying).
2 Corinthians 5:10
5:10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
- Idle words, namely lie, gossip, and evil speaking.
Matthew 12:36
12:36. "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
- Sinful thought that is hidden in heart and mind.
Romans 2:16
2:16. in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
That is why we need the sword of the word to purify us up to the depth of our heart and mind.
- Sin of judging and blaming others.
Matthew 7:1-2
7:1. "Judge not, that you be not judged.
7:2. "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
- Not doing the thing that God has moved us to do for the ministry of the building of the body of Christ or for others who are in need.
Matthew 25:41-42,45
25:41. "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
25:42. 'for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
25:45. "Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'
It is the same as judging the sin of egoism.
1 Peter 4:8
4:8. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins."
Love covers a multitude of sins.
If we receive the love of God, it will cover all sins above, so we do not need to be judged anymore.
The process is that by the encouragement of the Word that shows our sins we can realize, regret, and confess them to God and others.
As a result, God's love covers and forgives all of our sins, so we are justified as well as able to live in righteousness. We can stretch out our hands to God and He stretches out His merciful hands to us.
The result is that the hands of God's mercy take away all of the punishment. We are saved and blessed by God.
Psalm 37:25-26
37:25. I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.
37:26. He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.
- Having confidence toward God to pray.
1 John 3:21-22
3:21. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
3:22. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
The term is good conscience or the heart that is not accused, but calm.
Psalm 23:1-2
23:1. <<A Psalm of David.>>The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
23:2. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
We receive good conscience only in the shepherding system.
Outside the shepherding, we will always be threatened, so we never have serenity.
Good and calm heart means that there are no more worry, anxiety, disappointment, despair, bitterness, envy, and hatred.
Hebrews 4:16
4:16. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
The calm heart has confidence to face the throne of the grace of God. It means as follows:
- Ministering and serving to God.
- Praying, surrendering, and crying out to God. We are patient to wait for the time of God. God is still busy with our spirituality when He has not helped us yet.
As a result, God will stretch out His merciful hands to calm all wind and waves. He is able to finish all problems and wipe away every teardrop of our eyes.
- Having confidence to greet Jesus when He comes a second time on the glorious clouds.
1 John 2:28
2:28. And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
Numbers 12:1,10-12,14
12:1. Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married; for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
12:10. And when the cloud departed from above the tabernacle, suddenly Miriam became leprous, as white as snow. Then Aaron turned toward Miriam, and there she was, a leper.
12:11. So Aaron said to Moses, "Oh, my lord! Please do not lay this sin on us, in which we have done foolishly and in which we have sinned.
12:12. "Please do not let her be as one dead, whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb!"
12:14. Then the LORD said to Moses, "If her father had but spit in her face, would she not be shamed seven days? Let her be shut out of the camp seven days, and afterward she may be received again."
Shame and fear are caused by self-truth.
Being white but leprous means self-truth, namely the truth outside the word or covering sin by blaming at others, the Word, and God.
If we want to confess our sin and mistake, the blood of Jesus will take away the sin, shame, and spot in our life.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
3:11. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
God will make all things beautiful in its time.
Matthew 27:30
27:30. Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.
Isaiah 52:13-14
52:13. Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled and be very high.
52:14. Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marredmore than any man, And His form more than the sons of men;
Jesus is willingly marred on the cross to make all things good in our life and when He comes a second time, we do not need to be ashamed and afraid anymore. All of our spots are taken away. We are worthy to greet His coming on the glorious clouds.
God blesses us.
