From Delayed Broadcast of Fellowship Service in MedanPeace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 19:9
19:9. Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!'"And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."
The marriage supper of the Lamb refers to the meeting between Jesus, who comes a second time in the glory as the King of all kings or the Heavenly Bridegroom, and the perfect church or the heavenly bride on the glorious clouds. This is the spiritual perfect marriage. It is the same as the relationship of perfect love that cannot be separated by anything.
Thus, we must have the love of God to enter the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Matthew 24:12
24:12. "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Approaching the second coming of Jesus, the love will grow cold and lawlessness will abound.
Matthew 22:34-40
22:34. But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.
22:35. Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,
22:36. "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"
22:37. Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
22:38. "This is the first and great commandment.
22:39. "And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
22:40. "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."The proofs of having the perfect love of God are as follows:
- Loving God more than anything.
- Loving others as we love ourselves; even we can love our enemy.
ad. 1. Loving God more than anything.
The fact of loving God more than anything is enduring against anything.
James 1:12
1:12. Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.The differences between temptation and test are as follows:
- The temptation comes from Satan because we follow our will that is contrary to God.
James 1:13-15
1:13. Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
1:14. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
1:15. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
The lust of the flesh has the power to entice, trawl, and draw us away from the will, the word, or the hands of God. Consequently, Satan comes with the temptation or impossible problem, so we look for the way which is not according to the word of God. It is the same as falling into temptation, so we face the dead end and perdition.
The temptation is like tempest and waves that are blown by Satan with the power of death to drown us so that we cannot reach the desired haven.
- The test is the mercy of God, namely the tempest and waves that are allowed by God, so we experience His wonderful things to increase our spiritual life up to perfection.
1 Peter 2:19
2:19. For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.
1 Corinthians 10:13
10:13. No temptation has overtaken youexcept such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
The test does not overtake us. We feel God's presence to give us extra power so that we keep on being in the will of God and to increase our spiritual life.
As a result, God will give the way out of all our problems.
We must confess to God and others if we fall into temptation because of sin. Do not sin anymore after being forgiven! The temptation will become the test, so we experience the mercy of God.
There are three kinds of test that we have to face as the proof of loving God more than anything as follows:
- The test of faithas being experienced by Job.
Job 23:10-12
23:10. But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
23:11. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside.
23:12. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food.
The test of faith happens in economy, marriage, and impossible problems.
Our attitude in the test of faith must be as follows:
- [Job 23:12] Keeping the word of God in the heart.
We must hear the Word when we are in the test until we understand and believe it, so it becomes faith in our heart. As a result, we will not be doubtful and disappointed as well as leave God in facing all things.
In facing the total test like Job, do not lose your faith because the faith can do all things.
- [Job 23:11] Keeping the foot or life journey and deeds in righteousness (faith) or in accordance with the Word.
We do not look for the way which is not according to the word of God, because it is the same as the deadlock and destruction.
The result is that we receive the faith which is the same as gold [Job 23:10], so we are worthy to greet Jesus when He comes a second time.
1 Peter 1:6-7
1:6. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
1:7. that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
- The test of hope(purification).
Psalm 139:23-24
139:23. Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
139:24. And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
The time we face test is the right one to correct ourselves through the sharpness of the sword of the word that purifies us. Do not blame others!
What must be purified?
- [Psalm 139:23] The heart and mind.
Mark 7:21-23
7:21. "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries(1), fornications(2), murders(3),
7:22. thefts (4), covetousness(5), wickedness(6), deceit(7), lewdness(8), an evil eye(9), blasphemy(10), pride(11), foolishness(12).
7:23. "All these evil things come from within and defile a man."
The heart and mind have twelve evil, unclean, and bitter lusts.
They must be purified by the teaching word to become twelve loaves that are set in two rows, six in a row (6 6). It refers to sixty six books in the bible.
It continues until the Word is ingrained in our life. We practice it, so there is always the revelation of the Word or food for the congregation.
The congregation is filled with the teaching word, so they hear the Word delightfully, obey it, and experience purification.
The heart is also purified from false teachings.
Judas Iscariot does not want to be purified from sins and false teaching, so he is destroyed.
- [Psalm 139:24] The purification of foot or dirty life journey.
John 13:10-11,5
13:10. Jesus said to him, "He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you."
13:11. For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, "You are not all clean."
13:5. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.
The dirty life journey is the one of Judas Iscariot. Becoming the servant of God is the most beautiful life journey. But, if one does not want to be purified, it will become the dirtiest one. Judas Iscariot is a thief, betrayer, liar, accuser, and hypocrite.
- The purification of sight, namely the one of sin, worldly one, and the one to others (judging or hoping others).
We are purified, so we just believe in and hope God.
Psalm 26:2-3
26:2. Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.
26:3. For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth.
1 John 3:2-3
3:2. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
3:3. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
Our whole life is purified continuously until we are as holy as Jesus is. We are spotless and worthy to greet Jesus' second coming.
- The test of love.
James 1:12
1:12. Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Revelation 2:10
2:10. "Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
The number ten refers to love.
Having tribulation ten days means experiencing the test of love or the sprinkling of blood.
Our attitude is that we must be faithful until death. As a result, we will experience the heavenly bliss.
If we pass the test of faith, hope, and love, our spiritual life journey will increase even culminate up to the mount of prayer and perfection.
Matthew 17:1-2
17:1. Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
17:2. and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.James writes the epistle of James that is about faith.
Peter writes the epistle of Peter that is about hope/holiness.
John writes the epistle of John that is about love.
In the prayer, we can see, cry out, surrender, and lift up our hands to God, so He stretches out His hands of love. We experience the sunshine from Jesus' face to change us from fleshly men to spiritual ones like Him. It starts from being strong and of good courage.
Matthew 17:3
17:3. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
Moses and Elijah have been desperate.
Exodus 6:8-11
6:8. So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.
6:9. And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
6:10. "Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the children of Israel go out of his land."
6:11. And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, "The children of Israel have not heeded me. How then shall Pharaoh heed me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?"Moses was desperate, so he did not want to minister to God anymore. But, he was changed to become strong and of good courage. It means keeping believing and hoping Jesus, holding fast the true teaching word, ministering to God faithfully and fervently, and worshipping God.
Mark 5:37,41-42
5:37. And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
5:41. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, "Talitha, cumi," which is translated, "Little girl, I say to you, arise."
5:42. Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. There is resurrection power of God to raise the dead things. It means that the impossible thing becomes possible.
1 Corinthians 13:12-13
13:12. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
13:13. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. The last miracle is that we are changed up to perfection when Jesus comes a second time.
God blesses us.
