Matthew 27 refers to
seven sprinklings of blood upon the Ark of Covenant.
Now it means suffering Jesus has experienced until He dies on the cross in order to save, to sanctify, and to perfect us.
Moreover, there are
seven sprinklings of blood in front of the Ark of Covenant.
It refers to suffering of the Church together with Jesus in order to be saved, sanctified, and perfected.
The first sprinkling of water is
Jesus handed over to Pilate and the death of Judas Iscariot [Matthew 27:1-10].
Matthew 27:6-1027:6 But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, "It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood."
27:7 And they consulted together and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.
27:8 Therefore that field has been called the Field of Bloodto this day.
27:9 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced,
27:10 "and gave them for the potter’s field, as the LORD directed me."
Jesus suffered because of the betrayal of Judas Iscariot, His own disciple who was always with Him.
Judas Iscariot sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver for buying the Field of Blood, the field to bury strangers, and the potter’s field.
Tonight we will discuss about the Field of Blood.
Judas Iscariot sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver for buying the Field of Blood, meaning
Judas rejected the sprinkling of blood. It equals to
trampling the blood of Jesus underfoot or despising the sacrifice of Christ.
There are many servants or sons of God who trample the blood of Jesus underfoot or despise the sacrifice of Christ in the last days. It equals to crucifying Jesus for the second time.
The facts found in crucifying Jesus for the second time are as follows.
- Rebellion.
Hebrews 10:25-27,29
10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
10:27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
10:29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
It means as follows.
- Being far away from service to God or unfaithfulness even leaving them because of “something.”
The “something” can be in the form of money, position in office, et cetera.
Not serving God is a sin which is increasing from habitual sin to intentional one.
Habitual sin means one does not regret but laugh when he does not serve and minister God.
Intentional sin means one does not want to serve and minister God although there is opened opportunity.
Let us now advise one another to use the opportunity to serve and to minister God although it is only as small hole of a needle.
- Rebellion of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
Jude 1:11
1:11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
Numbers 16:8-11
16:8 Then Moses said to Korah, "Hear now, you sons of Levi:
16:9 "Is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to do the work of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to serve them;
16:10 "and that He has brought you near to Himself, you and all your brethren, the sons of Levi, with you? And are you seeking the priesthood also?
16:11 "Therefore you and all your company are gathered together against the LORD. And what is Aaron that you complain against him?"
The rebellion of Korah is he served and ministered God with murmuring because of insisting “something” which was not righteous.
Numbers 16:12-14
16:12 And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, but they said, "We will not come up!
16:13 "Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should keep acting like a prince over us?
16:14 "Moreover you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up!"
The rebellion of Dathan and Abiram is resisting the true shepherding Word and the pastor or Moses because of keeping worldly matters (Egypt).
- Falling away.
Hebrews 6:4-6
6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
6:5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
6:6 if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
Meaning as follows.
- Leaving the true teaching and turning to the false one.
2 Timothy 4:3
4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
The true teaching is the Word of God showing our sins or the Word of God sanctifying us. It equals to solid food that makes our spirituality full or satisfied. We will have satisfaction if we are holy.
False teaching is fable or performance. Such teaching does not point to our sins but only satisfies ears. In such condition, the heart will never be satisfied.
The Word of God gives us satisfaction in heart. We get satisfaction when our sin is pointed and we can confess it.
- Living in sins.
It means one has known the sin but he keeps doing it and feeling not guilty. It is up to the peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking such as smoking, being drunk, and drugs abuse, as well as sins concerning marrying-being given in marriage or sexuality sins with all its kinds, as well as envy and division.
Romans 13:13
13:13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.
- Hanging himself.
Matthew 27:5
27:5 Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.
It means rejecting Jesus who has been hanged on the cross or rejecting the sacrifice of Christ.
Meaning as follows.
- Being disappointed and hopeless because of “something” until leaving the service and ministry.
- Not being fervent in spirit doing the service and ministry.
- Not praying, not worshiping God or being dry even dead spiritually.
Hebrews 10:29-3110:29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
10:30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people."
10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
The consequence of trampling the sacrifice of Christ underfoot is
falling into the hand of living God which will judge and perish, so his life is fearful.
Judas formerly was a great apostle and trusted by God but his life became fearful and there was no remnant of his life. He preferred to choose the voice of the chief priests than the righteous voice of Jesus. Judas was rebellious. He fell away and hanged himself.
Acts 1:18
1:18 (Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out.
The right attitude is
we have to receive the sprinkling of blood, to appreciate the sacrifice of Christ and to experience cross together with Jesus.
The facts found in experiencing death or cross together with Jesus are as follows.
- Being willing to suffer in the flesh in order to stop sinning and to live in righteousness.
1 Peter 4:1-2
4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
4:2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
Revelation 21:8
21:8 "But the (1) cowardly, (2) unbelieving, (3) abominable, (4) murderers, (5) sexually immoral, (6) sorcerers, (7) idolaters, and all (8) liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
We must stop doing eight sins that can drown the son of God to the sea of fire and brimstone.
Romans 6:4
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
We can stop sinning through being baptized of water in which we bury our old life and sins together with Jesus so we can rise in new life, namely life in righteousness.
Being baptized of water righteously equals to eight people’s entering the ark of Noah to get salvation. It is only because of the abundant grace of God.
- Being willing to suffer in the flesh and to experience persecution in order to serve and minister God.
2 Timothy 3:12
3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
1 Timothy 4:8
4:8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
Romans 14:17-18
14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
14:18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.
The service and ministry that are acceptable to God contain these things.
- Righteousness or accordance to the true teaching Word that is written in bible.
- Peace, meaning there is no evil or uncleanness in heart. There is no division, anxiety nor fear.
- Joy in the Holy Spirit.
If we can serve and minister God in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, God will guarantee our present life, future one, up to the eternality.
- Suffering in the flesh without any sin or the sprinkling of blood or test.
1 Peter 4:12-14
4:12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
4:13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
4:14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
Why do we have to get the test?
Because it will make Holy Spirit come to renew our life from carnal man to spiritual one as Jesus is.
The sign of having the Spirit of Glory is we can be strong and of good courageas follows.
- Holding fast to the true teaching Word and obeying it.
- Not being disappointed or hopeless facing all things; keeping faithful and fervent in spirit as well as believing and entrusting our life fully to God.
The facts and examples of ones who are strong and of good courage are as follows.
- Man, the representative of husband.
Matthew 14:15-17,19,21
14:15 When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, "This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food."
14:16 But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."
14:17 And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish."
14:19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
14:21 Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
Five loaves of bread and two fish for five thousand men refer to economic crisis.
Facing economic crisis, we have to be strong and of good courage.
The attitude of a man who is strong and of good courage is sitting on grass, meaning being firm in the true shepherdingas follows.
- Persevering doing three main services.
- Obeying the shepherding Word, not hearing strange voice.
As a result, the wife and children will sit also, meaning there is oneness in the household and God’s preservation (the breaking of brad) until we can give thanks.
- Mother.
Mother often faces problems about marriage and children.
Mark 7:28-30
7:28 And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs."
7:29 Then He said to her, "For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter."
7:30 And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed.
The coming in or going out of Satan depends on our saying. We have to be alert.
Being strong and of good courage means we keep the righteousness of our tongue or saying as follows.
- We use our tongue only to confess our sin and failure like the woman who confessed herself as a dog licking vomit.
- We use our tongue only for consuming the Word and obeying it, neither for criticizing nor looking the false in it.
- We use our tongue only to cry the name of Jesus.
Afterwards, Satan goes out and all problems about marriage and children can be solved.
- Youth (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego)
They are young people facing future life up to the antichrist, referring to the furnace that is heated seven times more than it is usually heated.
Young people must be strong and of good courage through keeping holding fast to the true teaching Word, worshiping Him much more, believing and entrusting our life fully to Him. As a result, God guarantees our future life, protects us from temptation and antichrist, and employs us to become his witnesses.
Psalm 27:14
27:14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
If we are strong and of good courage, we will be able to wait for Jesus’ second coming. We will be changed to be as glorious as He is and exalted to be with Him forever.
God blesses you.
