Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 1:13-16 is about four appearances of Jesus in His glory as follows.
- [verse 13] The appearance of Jesus in His glory as The High Priest.
- [verse 14] The appearance of Jesus in His glory as The King of all kings.
- [verse 15] The appearance of Jesus in His glory as The Just Judge.
- [verse 16] The appearance of Jesus in His glory as The Heavenly Bridegroom.
Revelation 1:161:16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two–edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. Jesus appears in His glory as the Heavenly Bridegroom with these signs.
- He had in His right hand seven stars.
- Out of His mouth went a sharp two–edged sword.
- His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
We will discuss about the second sign.
Matthew 4:44:4 But He answered and said, "It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’"
What comes out of the mouth of the Lord is God’s Word.
There are two kinds of the preaching of the Word of God as follows.
- The gospel of salvation/ gospel Word / Good News.
Ephesians 1:13
1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
It is the gospel that preaches Jesus’ first coming to die on the cross and save the sinners.
- The light of the gospel of the glory of Christ/ the true teaching Word sharper than any two-edged sword/ solid food/ Bride Tidings.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
It is the gospel that preaches about Jesus’ second coming as The King of all kings or perfect Heavenly Bridegroom to choose the saved people and sanctify them until they are as perfect as Jesus is to become the bride of heaven.
It is called the prophetic Word that preaches something that has not happened yet, but will happen for sure, especially about Jesus’ second coming on glorious clouds and the perfection of the Church.
The attitudes towards the prophetic Word or the true teaching Word are as follows.
- The negative one, namely the hardness of heart, keeping the sin, murmuring, and rejecting the true teaching Word.
John 6:61-62, 66
6:61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, "Does this offend you?
6:62 "What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?
6:66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.
The consequences are as follows.
- Going back and walking with Jesus no more. It means not following Jesus anymore, but oneself, and looking for the Word that is in line to the will of the ears, even following the antichrist and false prophets with the false teachings.
- Not enduring in facing Jesus’ second coming.
- The positive one, namely reading, hearing, understanding, believing, and obeying the true teaching Word.
Revelation 1:3
1:3 Blessed is he who readsand those who hearthe words of this prophecy, and keepthose things which are written in it; for the time is near.
1 Corinthians 14:3
14:3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfortto men.
The results are as follows.
- Comfort.
The true teaching Word gives us extra power to make us patient in the suffering, not murmur or be disappointed, but give thanks always and be patient in waiting for the time of God without taking our own solution that is not in line to the Word. The solution that is not in line to the Word means a dead-end and perdition. The true teaching Word gives us heavenly satisfaction, so we do not fall in the worldly one bringing sins up to the peak.
- Exhortation.
Psalm 73:24
73:24 You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.
It means the guidance of God’s hands, so that we keep on living in righteousness and holiness and do not lose our way or fall. The advice of the Word is to open the doors, solution of all problems, beautiful future, even the door of heaven is opened for us.
- Edification.
The true teaching Word edifies our spirituality, sanctify, and renew our life, so that we enter the building of the perfect body of Christ. The building of fellowship of the body of Christ must be based on the true teaching Word, so that it aims at Jesus, The Head.
The proofs of Jesus’ appearance as The Head are as follows.
- There is the true ministry.
Ephesians 4:15-16
4:15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head––Christ––
4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
We minister to God according to the ministry we receive from God. We minister with love or obedience and faithfulness.
- There is the double sanctification.
Ephesians 5:23-27
5:23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
5:24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
5:27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
It means the sanctification done by the water or water baptism and the Word or the rain of the true teaching Word.
Leviticus 14:8-9
14:8 "He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, and shall stay outside his tent seven days.
14:9 "But on the seventh day he shall shave all the hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows -- all his hair he shall shave off. He shall wash his clothes and wash his body in water, and he shall be clean.
It sanctifies the leprosy.
Leviticus 13:45
13:45 "Now the leper on whom the sore is, his clothes shall be torn and his head bare; and he shall cover his mustache, and cry, 'Unclean! Unclean!'
The leprosy refers to the sins concerning uncleanness, eating-drinking, and marrying-being given in marriage.
2 Kings 5:25-27
5:25Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, "Where did you go, Gehazi?" And he said, "Your servant did not go anywhere."
5:26 Then he said to him, "Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants?
5:27 "Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever." And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as snow.
The leprosy refers to wickednesssin or the love of money causing the stinginess (one cannot give), greediness (one seizes the possession of others), and extravagance (one spends the money for fulfilling the fleshy wills, not the need).
The leprosy also means the sin of self truth, namely the truth that is not in line to the Word, even covering the sin by blaming others.
Ephesians 5:26-27
5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
5:27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Let us be sanctified until we are as perfect as Jesus is or without any blemish.
- There is relationship between The Head and the body.
Ephesians 1:22-23
1:22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,
1:23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
It refers to the neck or worship prayer. We can worship Jesus, The King of all kings or Heavenly Bridegroom. As a result, the Lord always remembers us. He never leaves us.
The results are as follows.
- The Lord divides the Red Sea for helpingthe house of Israel who was in distress facing the dead-end.
Isaiah 43:15-16
43:15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King."
43:16 Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters,
He is able to help and solve all problems right in His time, even the impossible one. He gives us beautiful future life.
- The Lord is able to sanctify and use our life.
Isaiah 6:5-7
6:5 So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts."
6:6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
6:7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged."
- The Lord helps the one who has been destroyed spiritually and physically.
Luke 23:40-43
23:40But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, "Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?
23:41 "And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong."
23:42 Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom."
23:43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."
The criminal crucified beside Jesus refers to one who is in failure, without any hope, evil, and unclean. God is able to help us regardless of our condition.
Revelation 19:6-7
19:6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
19:7 "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."
We are renewed when Jesus comes a second time to be as glorious as He is and we deserve to welcome Him on the glorious clouds.
God blesses you.
