Matthew 27 as a whole refers to theseven sprinklings of blood on the Ark of Covenant.
Meaning the suffering of Jesus until He dies on the cross to save, sanctify, and perfect the congregation.

There are seven passages written in Matthew 27 that refer to the seven kinds of Jesus’ suffering until He dies on the cross as follows.
  1. Matthew 27:1-10, Jesus Handed Over to Pontius Pilate and Judas Hangs Himself.
  2. Matthew 27:11-26, Jesus Faces Pilate.
  3. Matthew 27:27-31, The Soldiers Mock Jesus.
  4. Matthew 27:32-50, Jesus’ Crucifixion.
  5. Matthew 27:51-56, Miracles Happen at the Time of Jesus’ Death.
  6. Matthew 27:57-61, Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb.
  7. Matthew 27:62-66, Pilate Sets a Guard.
ad. 2. Jesus Faces Pilate.
It consists of two parts as follows.
  1. Verse 11-14, Jesus faces false accusation and questions.
  2. Verse 15-26, Jesus faces injustice because He is crucified while Barabbas is being released.
Matthew 27:11
27:11 Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" So Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."

Jesus answers the question of the Jews expressly and righteously although He must die. In facts, He is resurrected and glorified as the King of all kings.

Matthew 27:12-14
27:12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.
27:13 Then Pilate said to Him, "Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?"
27:14 But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

Jesus as the Head faces false accusations and so does the Church of God. Daniel has experienced it. We will become God’s witness if we are silent in experiencing the accusation.

Daniel 6:4-5
6:4 So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.
6:5 Then these men said, "We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God."

There are two kinds of false accusation we have to face as Daniel has faced as follows.
  1. False accusation about physical matters.
We have to be faithful and true in facing it, so none may accuse us.

  2. False accusation about spiritual matters.
It is accusation about righteous service, ministry, and marriage. Service and ministry to God as well as marriage are two great secrets written in bible.
The source of the righteous service and ministry to God is the true teaching Word. Thus, the false accusation spiritually means the accusation to the true teaching Word.

We can see that righteous people are often accused. Satan pleads the false spiritual matters and marriage. He also leads the Church of God to do false spiritual matters to make them perish.
Jesus and Daniel are in silencefacing the false accusation.

Daniel 6:10

6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

Silence means worshiping God.
The Church of God has to be in silence also in facing the false accusations.

There are three kinds of being in silence as follows
.
  1. Being in silence related to wisdom.
    Proverbs 11:12
11:12 He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, But a man of understanding holds his peace.

    Matthew 7:24-25
7:24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
7:25 "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

The fact found in it is hearing the true teaching Word or Jesus’ Words much more and obeying it whatever risk may come.

The true teaching Word will bring true service, ministry, and worship to God. It is a strong foundation for building the body of Christ. The foundation will be fragile or porous if we talk much more or gossip.

The result of being in silence related to wisdom is as follows.

    • We can endure in facing these things.

      1. Heavy rain, referring to wickedness and uncleanness sins.
It means we can keep living in righteousness or we do not want to sin.
For example, Daniel does not worship the image of the king and Joseph endures in facing the wife of Potiphar.

      2. Winds, meaning false teaching, service, ministry, and worship.
It means we keep holding the true teaching Word, service, ministry, and worship.
Daniel keeps doing the true service, ministry, and worship to God although he must enter the den of lions.

        Moreover, enduring means not lying.

      3. Floods, referring to temptations especially the physical ones.
It means we keep believing and hoping in God, not in others.

    • God preserves and protects us.
      Proverbs 2:11
2:11 Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you,

Daniel is preserved and protected by God although he is in the midst of impossibilities. God is able to shut the lion’s mouth. It means God is able to give us beautiful future life.

    • Being employed as shining stars.
      Daniel 12:3
12:3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.

Our duty is to bring other people who have not believed in Jesus yet to believe in Him. Moreover, we have to bring them who have been saved to enter the building of the perfect body of Christ.

  2. Being in silence related to holiness.
    Zephaniah 1:7-8
1:7 Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD; For the day of the LORD is at hand, For the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; He has invited His guests.
1:8 "And it shall be, In the day of the LORD’S sacrifice, That I will punish the princes and the king’s children, And all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.

The fact found in being in silence related to holiness is judging our own life. It means we receive the work of the true teaching Word that sanctifies us from filthy garmentsand foreign apparel.

    • Filthy garments.
      Zechariah 3:1-4
3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.
3:2 And the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?"
3:3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel.
3:4 Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, "Take away the filthy garments from him." And to him He said, "See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes."

There are many servants of God who have the filthy garments.

It means there are many spots, namely wickedness and laziness spots.
Do not judge other people many more because there will be no much time to check our own life.

      Matthew 25:26
25:26 "But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.

The spot of laziness means unfaithfulness until one leaves the service and ministry to God.

      Jude 1:11-12a
1:11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
1:12 These are spots in your love feasts,

      Wickedness spots are as follows.

      1. The spot of Cain, namely envy and hatred without any cause.
It happens because there is false matter in our life.

        1 John 3:12
3:12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.

      2. The spot of Korah, namely murmuring and persuading other people because of dissatisfaction.
The dissatisfaction in service and ministry to God happens because one never satisfies Him.

      3. The spot of Balaam, namely doing service and ministry to God in order to seek physical matters such as money, marriage partner, et cetera.
It happens because of there is flesh lust. It must be sanctified.

      4. The spot of Gibeah, namely uncleanness as well as sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage such as adultery, sexual deviation, and destroyed marriage.

        Judges 19:22,25
19:22 As they were enjoying themselves, suddenly certain men of the city, perverted men, surrounded the house and beat on the door. They spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came to your house, that we may know him carnally!"
19:25 But the men would not heed him. So the man took his concubine and brought her out to them. And they knew her and abused her all night until morning; and when the day began to break, they let her go.

    • Foreign apparel.
      Zephaniah 1:8
1:8 "And it shall be, In the day of the LORD’S sacrifice, That I will punish the princes and the king’s children, And all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.

It means feeling as stranger or being secluded in the sheepfold. It means not being shepherded.

      Ephesians 2:19
2:19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

There will be plagues of God outside the Goshen, referring to sheepfold, but there is not inside it.

Do not feel as stranger but let us become a flock of sheep in one heart, true teaching, service, ministry, and worship to God.

Why is one secluded in the sheepfold?

      1. Cause inside us, namely not being able to eat the true teaching Word because of keeping sins.

        Hosea 8:12
8:12 I have written for him the great things of My law, But they were considered a strange thing.

      2. Cause outside us, namely strange teaching which is not in line with the teaching or shepherding Word we have received and experienced in our life.

        Hebrews 13:8-9a
13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
13:9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines.

Hearing strange voice, one becomes as Eutychus sitting in window. Consequently, he falls out of the building.
Eve hears the voice of serpent and she falls also. Solomon also hears the voice of his wives and he falls also.

The true attitude is we must be shepherded to the true teaching Word as a branch that attains to the True Vine. In such condition, we experience intensive sanctification from the filthy garments and foreign apparel, so we can produce sweet fruits until we are perfect as Jesus is someday. On the contrary, the sins, faults, and doubt or strange voice make our life bitter.

If we are sanctified continuously, we will get the fine linen, clean and bright. It means we have no spot anymore.

  3. Being in silence related to full surrendering to God.
    Psalm 37:5-7
37:5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
37:6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.
37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

The fact found in it is worshipas follows.

    • The process of tearing flesh as if we climb up a high mountain. The flesh must be torn, especially the doubt, anxiety, and hope in other people.

    • Believing and entrusting our life fully to God; only hoping in the mercy and kindness of God.

The result will be real as follows.

    • God pours the rain of the blessings of his mercy and kindness to preserve and make us joyful in the midst of difficulties, impossibilities, and dryness of the world.

      Ezekiel 34:26
34:26 "I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.

    • If we are in silence, God will work with the hand of mercy and kindness to solve all our problems, even the impossible ones.

      Psalm 37:5
37:5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

The Lord works for the Israelites when they cannot move forward to Red Sea.

      Exodus 14:14
14:14 "The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."

God also works and gives David victory when he faces Goliath.
God fights against the sin, the greatest problem, of David when he sins, so he can confess it, be forgiven and saved.
All men have sinned but let us confess our sin soon after we realize it. Being forgiven, we should not repeat it. Let God fight against the sin.

      Isaiah 36:21
36:21 But they held their peace and answered him not a word; for the king’s commandment was, "Do not answer him."

      Isaiah 37:36
37:36 Then the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty–five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses––all dead.

    • The hand of God’s mercy and kindness is able to bring forth our righteousness as the light. We are changed little by little until we become as the light of the world and deserve to welcome Jesus’ second coming on glorious clouds.

      Psalm 37:6
37:6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.

Someday we will rejoice shouting "Alleluia". Let us now learn to be in silence much more now.
God blesses you.
