We are still discussing Revelation 1:17-20.
Revelation 1:17
1:17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.
John, the apostle, was exiled in Patmos Island, not because of sinning, but the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, so he could fall at Jesus’ feet, worship God with a contrite heart until the flesh does not speak anymore. At that time, John could experience the touching of God’s right hand and these three things.
ad. 1. Do not be afraid!
It means the renewal to the feelings until there is no more fear.
Luke 21:25-26
21:25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;
21:26 "men’s hearts failing them from fearand the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken.
There will be shaking on the earth, in the sea, and the air, so human is in fear and great distress that cause the death. The fear is the main killer in the last days, not only to the body, but also to the soul until the spirituality is dry and dead or one perishes forever.
Revelation 21:8
21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
The symptom of dry spirituality up to the spiritual death is not being fervent in spirit in doing spiritual things, not worshiping God, doing the sin but not feeling guilty, and keeping the sins. It will cause the second death in hell.
We have learnt the three kinds of fear in General Service in Malang, July 27, 2014 as follows.
Revelation 6:15-17
6:15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,
6:16 and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
6:17 "For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"
Isaiah 2:19-21
2:19 They shall go into the holes of the rocks, And into the caves of the earth, From the terror of the LORD And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily.
2:20 In that day a man will cast away his idols of silver And his idols of gold, Which they made, each for himself to worship, To the moles and bats,
2:21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, And into the crags of the rugged rocks, From the terror of the LORD And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily.
It is the peak of fear as the fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah the prophet, namely the fear of seeing the glory of Jesus who will come a second time as The King of all kings or Heavenly Bridegroom. It is more than the fear of anything in the world.
All things in the world such as intelligence, good position, riches, and so forth have no meaning when Jesus comes a second time in His glory as The King of all kings or Heavenly Bridegroom. It means that we must not pursue them until we are afraid when Jesus comes a second time and we cannot welcome Him. Being afraid of seeing the glory of Jesus means being left behind when He comes a second time or perishing forever.
Therefore, we must use the forbearance of God, namely Jesus has not come a second time yet. We are given the long age, especially to learn to see the glory of the Lord as John has experienced in Patmos Island.
The steps of looking at Jesus in the glory are as follows.

Revelation 1:16
1:16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two–edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
There is a sharp two-edged sword coming out of Jesus’ mouth.
Thus, looking at Jesus’ mouth means as follows.- We must receive the true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword.
The sharp true teaching Word is written in the Bible. The secret is opened and revealed by God through a verse that explains other verses in the Bible by the anointing of Holy Spirit. - We must obey the true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword, so we experience the sanctification. It begins from our heart and mind or the storehouse of sins [Hebrews 4:12-13].
Mark 7:21-23
7:21 "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, (1)adulteries, (2)fornications, (3)murders,
7:22 "(4)thefts, (5)covetousness, (6)wickedness, (7)deceit, (8)lewdness, (9)an evil eye, (10)blasphemy, (11)pride, (12)foolishness.
7:23 "All these evil things come from within and defile a man."
If our heart and mind are sanctified from twelve evil and unclean desires, they will be filled with twelve loaves that are set in two rows, six in a row. They refer to the sixty six books in the Bible. It means that our heart and mind are filled with the true teaching Word or the bread of life. The figure twelve refers to fellowship, namely we can make fellowship with one another in the true fellowship according to the one True Vine. It is also the fellowship that is in the light, not being hidden.
4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
The results are as follows.- The living water of heaven springs out of the holy heart. It is the Word, Holy Spirit, and God’s love. We can get the true joy that cannot be influenced by anything. We do not look for pseudo satisfaction in the world. We do not fall in sins up to the peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage as the Samaritan woman.
- If our heart is sanctified, our eyes will be sanctified too. We have spiritual sight that willingly sacrifices the physical things in order to get the spiritual ones.
Proverbs 4:24-27
4:24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.
4:25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.
4:26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.
4:27 Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.
For example, Abraham willingly sacrificed Isaac, his only son. He willingly sacrificed the physical thing in order to get the spiritual one. Finally, Abraham experienced Jehovah Jireh. Abraham got the blessings of God up to his descendants and the eternal blessings.
Esau sacrificed the spiritual thing in order to get the physical one. Finally, he lost the firstborn right and everything. His life was signified by tears that never ended. - The foot or life journey is sanctified to be right and holy.
- The mouth is sanctified until there is no lie. We can say "yes" if "yes", and "no" if "no", until we do not stumble in word.
James 3:2
3:2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
There is power from heaven in the honesty.
- We must receive the true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword.
- Seeing Jesus’ eyes.
Revelation 1:14
1:14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;
Jesus’ eyes are like the flame of fire, referring to the power of Holy Spirit.
Thus, seeing the eyes of Jesus means that we experience the work of Holy Spirit until we can be faithful and fervent in spirit in doing our service and ministry to God.
Romans 12:11
12:11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
Not our physical condition such as our age or other things will determine whether we can be faithful and fervent in spirit or weak, but whether we have the anointing of Holy Spirit or not.
The anointing of Holy Spirit makes our eyes only look at Jesus, so we can be faithful and fervent in spirit. As the Bride, we have a strong desire to minister to Jesus, the Heavenly Bridegroom. It is a spiritual desire.
On the contrary, if we are dry and there is no anointing of Holy Spirit, our eyes will look at other things such as human, age, and so on. Consequently, we will be weak in the service and ministry to God and have desire towards evil and uncleanness or sins concerning eating-drinking such as smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse and marrying-being given in marriage sins, namely sexual sins with all the kinds through mind, sight, feelings, and so on.
Romans 1:27
1:27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
Hebrews 1:7
1:7 And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire."
The servant of God that sees the mouth and eyes of Jesus is His servant who is holy, faithful, and fervent in spirit. He will be the apple of God’s eye that is preserved and protected by Him from now on, until the days when the antichrist reigns over the world, and forever. - Seeing the face of Jesus that shines as the sun.
Revelation 1:16
1:16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two–edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
It means we like to worship God more with willingness of heart and joy. It is a training to see the face of Jesus.
If we feel forced in worshiping God, someday we will be forced by the antichrist to worship him.
Seeing the mouth of Jesus -->the Word (the Table of Showbread).
Seeing the eyes of Jesus -->the anointing of Holy Spirit (the Golden Candlestick).
If we have the Word and Holy Spirit, we will be able to worship God (the Golden Altar of Incense) for sure.
Seeing the face of Jesus that is as the sun shining in its strength through the worship means seeing the face of Jesus who comes a second time.
Thus, learning to see the face of Jesus who will come a second time in the glory happens in the shepherding through the perseverance in doing three main services in the Holy Place as follows.- The Table of Showbread refers to the perseverance in doing Bible Study Service with Holy Communion to get the fellowship with the Son of God in the Word and Christ’s sacrifice.
- The Golden Candlestick or the perseverance in doing General Service to have fellowship with Holy Spirit God in the gifts.
- The Golden Altar of Incense or perseverance in doing Prayer Service to get fellowship with Father God in His love.
- The sun of Jesus’ face is the shield of faith for us.
Psalm 84:11
84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.
Ephesians 6:16
6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
The shield of faith is to protect us from the fiery dart of the wicked, namely temptations in all life aspects, so that we are not disappointed, hopeless, or moved, but we can keep on believing and having faith in the Lord. We keep on hoping in the Lord, not others.
The fiery dart of the wicked also points to the false teaching. The shield of faith protects us, so that we can keep on holding fast to the true teaching Word we have experienced, regardless of any risks we have to face.
The fiery dart of the wicked also points to the sins up to the peak. The shield of faith protects us, so we can keep on living in righteousness and holiness.
It also refers to the disaster. The shield of faith protects us from the disaster. - The sun makes us firmin the ministry until the second coming of Jesus.
Jeremiah 33:20-21
33:20 "Thus says the LORD: ‘If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season,
33:21 ‘then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers. - The sun of Jesus’ face is the mercy and goodness of Godto preserve our life miraculously in the midst of all impossibilities.
Joshua 10:11-14
10:11 And it happened, as they fled before Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the LORD cast down large hailstones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword.
10:12 Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon."
10:13 So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.
10:14 And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.
The mercy and goodness of God also help us and solve all impossible problems. God makes war instead of us. - The sun of Jesus’ face is the glory of God to change our life from fleshy man to spiritual one as Jesus is. It begins from honesty, sincerity, being without any partiality, and not having any purpose to get advantage.
If we are honest, our face will be bright and joyful. If we are not honest, our face will be sad and bad. Whoever we are and whatever our condition is, our bad face will be changed to be bright. A woman who was caught in adultery had the bad, sad, and pale face, but the Lord illuminates her with the sun. The woman could be helped and changed to have the bright face.
Matthew 13:43
13:43 "Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
The Lord is able to do all things in our life as long as there is the sun. Jesus dies on the cross with the bad face in order to illuminate us with the sun.
