Revelation chapter 2 and 3 refers to the seven sprinklings of blood before the Ark of the Covenant in Tabernacle Teachings. It means the last sanctification done by the Lord to the churches in the last day so that they are without blemish like Jesus. They can be worthy to welcome Jesus’ second coming, enter the marriage supper of the Lamb of God, one thousand years kingdom of peace, and New Jerusalem.
We are learning the third church, namely in Pergamos.
Revelation 2:12-132:12. "And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, ‘These things says He who has the sharp two–edged sword:
2:13 "I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
Jesus shows Himself to them with a sharp two-edged sword because they are in the atmosphere of Satan’s throne.
Hebrews 4:12-144:12. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two–edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
4:14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Where there is the preaching of the Word sharper than any two-edged sword, there is the appearance of Jesus as the High Priest who sits on the right hand of Father God’s throne. He leads our service and ministry so that they will not be dry, but have the atmosphere of heavenly throne.
The service and ministry will have the atmosphere of Satan’s throne if there is no sword of the true teaching Word. In such condition, there will be uncleanness and spiritual dryness.
The proofs of Jesus’ appearance as the High Priest where there is the sword of the Word are as follows.
- Out of the mouth of Jesus goes a sharp two-edged sword.
Revelation 1:16
1:16. He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two–edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
The Word sharper than any two-edged sword is Jesus’ word, namely the Word that is revealed through a verse that explains other verses in the Bible.
John 15:3
15:3. "You are already clean because of the word which I have spokento you.
The Word spoken by Jesus has the power of sanctification to sanctify our life until we are perfect or without blemish like Jesus.
Ephesians 5:3-4
5:3. But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;
5:4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
If the preaching of the Word contains joke, there will be adultery spirit in it that cannot sanctify us.
Judges 16:23, 25, 27, 30
16:23. Now the lords of the Philistines gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice. And they said: "Our god has delivered into our hands Samson our enemy!"
16:25 So it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, "Call for Samson, that he may perform for us." So they called for Samson from the prison, and he performed for them. And they stationed him between the pillars.
16:27 Now the temple was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there -- about three thousand men and women on the roof watching while Samson performed.
16:30 Then Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.
The joke makes the spirituality dead, unholy, and imperfect. In such condition, one only aims at the second death.
There are three thousand people who died that refer to the figure two thousand and one thousand. The figure two thousand refers to the measure of the Holy Place (20 x 10 x 10 cubits).
The figure one thousand refers to the measure of the Most Holy Place (10 x 10 x 10 cubits).
- There are the Urim and the Thummim in the breastplate of judgment of the High Priest.
Exodus 28:30
28:30. "And you shall put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be over Aaron's heart when he goes in before the LORD. So Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel over his heart before the LORD continually.
The Thummimrefers to the sword or perfection or the Word sharper than any two-edged sword [Hebrews 4:12].
The Urimrefers to the light or Holy Spirit [Hebrews 4:13].
Thus, the Urim and the Thummim in the breastplate of the High Priest refer to the teaching Word sharper than any two-edged sword in the anointing of Holy Spirit. They are on the heart of the High Priest. It means that there is the presence of God. The teaching Word is the love of God.
Revelation 2:132:13. "I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
Jesus appears with the Word sharper than any two-edged sword not to punish the church in Pergamos, but His love to help and move them from the atmosphere of Satan’s throne to the one of heaven.
Revelation 4:6, 84:6. Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.
4:8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!"
The atmosphere of heavenly throne is in the holiness. We keep on having the atmosphere of heavenly throne if we live in holiness although we must suffer.
From now on, we must live in the atmosphere of heaven or holiness until someday we are perfect to enter the throne of heaven and sit with Jesus forever. There is no tear at all. The more we are holy, the clearer atmosphere of heavenly throne we have.
The works of the Urim and the Thummim or the teaching Word in the anointing of Holy Spirit are as follows.
- Sanctifying us up to the smallest sin we often do not realize, both in marriage or private life.
1 Samuel 14:40-45
14:40. Then he said to all Israel, "You be on one side, and my son Jonathan and I will be on the other side." And the people said to Saul, "Do what seems good to you."
14:41 Therefore Saul said to the LORD God of Israel, "Give a perfect lot." So Saul and Jonathan were taken, but the people escaped.
14:42 And Saul said, "Cast lots between my son Jonathan and me." So Jonathan was taken.
14:43 Then Saul said to Jonathan, "Tell me what you have done." And Jonathan told him, and said, "I only tasted a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand. So now I must die!"
14:44 And Saul answered, "God do so and more also; for you shall surely die, Jonathan."
14:45 But the people said to Saul, "Shall Jonathan die, who has accomplished this great deliverance in Israel? Certainly not! As the LORD lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day." So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.
If the Urim and the Thummim work, we will be able to realize our sins and encouraged to confess them to God and others honestly and responsibly.
1 John 1:7, 9
1:7. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we confess our sin seriously by the encouragement of the sword of God’s Word, the blood of Jesus will actively do these things.
- Forgiving us our sins and covering them until there is no remnant anymore as if we never do such sins.
- Sanctifying or pulling out the roots of sin so that we do not sin anymore.
As a result, a hair will not fall to the ground as follows.
- We experience the power of preservation and protection of God miraculously in the midst of impossibilities in the world.
- We experience the power of deliverance from God’s judgment. We are saved. We can enter the building of the perfect body of Christ and have the eternal life.
- Sanctifying the consecration or service and ministry of a priest to be well-pleasing to God.
Nehemiah 7:64-65
7:64. These sought their listing among those who were registered by genealogy, but it was not found; therefore they were excluded from the priesthood as defiled.
7:65 And the governor said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things till a priest could consult with the Urim and Thummim.
2 Timothy 2:20-21
2:20. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
2:21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
There are two kinds of God’s ministers as follows.
- Like wood, clay, and grass.
It means the ministers of God who only look for physical things. They cannot endure, even the fire of temptation, sin, flesh lusts, and the antichrist burns them.
- Like gold, silver, and precious stone.
It means the servants of God who prioritize the sanctification done by the Word sharper than any two-edged sword or spiritual things. They dare to sacrifice the physical ones.
2 Timothy 2:22-25
2:22. Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2:23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.
2:24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
2:25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
The Urim and the Thummim sanctify us to be the ministers of God like gold and silver as follows.
- Being sanctified from youthful lusts as follows.
- The will or lusts of the flesh that aim at the sins up to the peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage.
- The flesh that likes quarelling or causing strife because of the self-truth as follows.
- The truth that is not in line with the Word.
- Covering the sin by blaming others and God.
- Covering the sin by pretending to do good things.
On the contrary, the truth from God is confessing and forgiving sin one another.
- Pursuing righteousness.
It means being on the Lord’s side or the one of the true teaching Word.
- Serving God with faithfulness, love, and peace.
The servants of God like gold and silver can endure even be His possession forever.
Haggai 2:8
2:8. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts.
- Sanctifying our heart.
Acts 5:1-3, 7-9
5:1. But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession.
5:2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
5:3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?
5:7 Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.
5:8 And Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?" She said, "Yes, for so much."
5:9 Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out."
We are sanctified, especially from evil lust, namely the lust of money that causes one not to love God.
1 Timothy 6:9-10
6:9.But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
The facts found in the lust of money are as follows.
- Leaving the service and ministry only to look for money.
- Serving and ministering to God only to look for money.
- Looking for money by using all ways, even the ones that stray from the faith or righteousness.
- Stinginess and greediness. Stinginess means one cannot give. Greediness means one robs the possession of others and God, namely the tithes and offerings.
Consequently, he is drowned in the sea of the world or failure, the sins of Babylon, up to the sea of fire and brimstone.
Acts 20:33, 35
20:33. "I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel.
20:35 "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’"
If we are sanctified from the will of money, we will say ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ It is especially when we give with the sign of blood, namely we give to other who need although we also need at that time. It continues until we can give our whole life to God.
The servants of God who willingly get the sanctification done by the Urim and the Thummim are in the embrace of God’s hand like John who leaned on Jesus’ bosom.
John 13:23
13:23. Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.
There are two possibilities in the Bible Study Service with Holy Communion as follows.
- Judas Iscariot did not want to be sanctified.
John 13:26
13:26. Jesus answered, "It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it." And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
Consequently, he is demon-possessed or on the throne of Satan. He exceedingly perishes.
- John willingly got the sanctification until he could lean on Jesus’ bosom. We obey and love God, so we feel the atmosphere of heavenly throne.
Isaiah 46:3-4
46:3. "Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb:
46:4 Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
The results are as follows.
- The merciful hand of God upholdsus as follows.
- To make us not fall in sins, but we are able to live in holiness.
- To make us not fail, but succeed.
- The merciful hand of God bearsus to be responsible as follows.
- For preserving and protecting our life miraculously.
- For our death and life. Our death and life are in the hand of God.
- For our future life.
- The hand of God sets us free from weariness and heavy burden, so we have peace and all things become easy and light. All problems are solved by God miraculously in His time.
- The hand of God saves us or sanctifies and perfects uslike Jesus. We are with Him on heavenly throne, not on the one of Satan.
Daniel 7:9
7:9. "I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire;
God blesses you.
