Peace and grace in the Lord Jesus Christ.
The whole Matthew 28 is about shekinah glory or the light of glory. There must be the light of glory behind the death or cross experience.
Matthew 28 can be divided into three parts as follows.
- Matthew 28:1-10 is about shekinah glory or the light of glory that shines the dark heart until there is renewal.
- Matthew 28:11-15 is about the lie of the council.
- Matthew 28:16-20 is about the commandment to preach the Gospel.
ad. 2. The lie of the councilMatthew 28:11-15
28:11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened.
28:12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,
28:13 saying, "Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’
28:14 "And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure."
28:15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
It is the spread of darkness or false teachings that reject the resurrection of Jesus as well as His death.
Romans 4:25
4:25 who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.
Jesus dies to forgive or deliver us from sins and He resurrects to justify us. Such matter is rejected through the false news.
The consequence of rejecting the resurrection of Jesus is as follows.
- Humans or the sons and servants of God do not believe in Jesus, so they keep on living in sins.
Meaning they do not regret after sinning but enjoy and not confess, even they blame other people and God or the true teaching.
- Not having life renewal. They keep on being flesh and blood humans who will perish forever in the sea of fire and brimstone.
Tonight, we have to receive the true teaching about the death and resurrection of Jesus, so we can be renewed day by day until we reach New Jerusalem.
There are three levels of renewal in Tabernacle as follows.
- The renewal through water baptism. It refers to the Brazen Laver in the Court.
Romans 6:2,4
6:2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The requirement is believing in Jesus and repenting so that we die to sin.
1 Peter 2:1
2:1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
It is especially to throw away these five sins.
- Malice or evil that is the root of all sins, namely the love of money.
1 Timothy 6:10
6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
The love of money causes stinginess and greediness. The root will result in bud and fruit.
- Deceit, including lies.
- Hypocrisy or pretending.
- Envy or hatred without any reason.
- Evil speaking, namely justifying the false or blaming the right. It is sin whose fruit is in saying.
The sin whose fruit is ripe will produce death.
After being dead to sin, one must be buried in water baptism to rise together with Jesus in new life, namely heavenly life.
1 Peter 2:2-4
2:2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
2:3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
2:4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,
Heavenly life is as newborn babes, meaning we live in righteousness in our saying, deeds, and feeling. The feeling of baby is always desiring the spiritual pure milk of the Word, namely Shepherding Word.
It must be pure, namely being written in Bible and revealed through a verse that explains other verses. It also means the preaching is continual in sequence.
The spiritual Shepherding Word means it is preached in the anointing of Holy Spirit regularly.
The Shepherding Word which is spiritual and pure and trusted to a pastor will become spiritual food for the congregation.
The result is as follows.
- Quietness in life or peace. It is the key to get all things.
Jacob is silent in the tent and he gets all things. On the contrary, Esau is busy with hunting and he loses all things.
- Being full, meaning we are preserved well physically.
It also means satisfaction or firmness in salvation and righteousness, so we do not seek satisfaction in other places or sins.
- Growing spiritually toward the building of the body of Christ.
1 Peter 2:4-5
2:4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,
2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Meaning we become the living stone or the armor of righteousness, namely we serve God faithfully and righteously according to the ministry we have gotten from God.
Being the living stone means we live by the mercy and goodness of God anywhere, anytime, in any condition. We can bring the mercy and goodness of God to other people who are dead in spirituality. We can bear witness so that they may get the life from God.
- The renewal through worship, referring to the Golden Altar of Incense in Holy Place.
Matthew 17:1-2
17:1 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
17:2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
The worship prayer is a process to tear the flesh to result in life renewal.
Fasting prayer and long night prayer are to hasten the process because we are competing with the time of Jesus’ second coming.
What must be renewed?
- Countenanceuntil it shines as the sun.
There are five senses in our face, one of which is mouth. It must be renewed to be full of God’s love, namely righteous and good words that become blessings for other people.
- The clothing, namely our deeds, until they are full of the love of God, righteous and good to become blessing for other people.
1 Peter 3:10-11
3:10 For "He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.
3:11 Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.
The result of having righteous and good deeds and words is God makes all things good. We can see good days, future life, and all things become good in our life.
- The renewal through the sprinkling of blood, referring to the Most Holy Place.
1 Peter 4:12-13
4:12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trialwhich is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
4:13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
The sprinkling of blood means the fiery trial or suffering in the flesh together with Jesus.
It may be the suffering in the service and ministry to God, or because of fasting, long night praying, and keeping the truth.
1 Peter 4:14
4:14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
The sprinkling of blood will result in the spirit of glory in our life.
The function of the spirit of glory is as follows.
- We are trusted to bring the Bride Tiding or the light of the gospel of the glory of God to other people all over the world.
We bring it with the grace of God, therefore we must bring offering first. We must sacrifice first in order to bring the Bride Tiding to other people. In addition, we must bring it with holiness.
- We can be joyful in the midst of suffering. Moreover, we can be strong and of good courage without disappointment or leaving God. We can be faithful and fervent in spirit doing our service and ministry to the end line.
- The Spirit of Glory performs miracles.
2 Corinthians 3:18
3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Spiritual miracle changes us from glory to glory until we are as glorious as Jesus is when He comes a second time. The glory begins from obedience.
If the spiritual miracle happens, we will experience the physical one. The more we are obedient, the more great miracles we experience. Jesus has been obedient to the point of death and experienced the greatest miracle, namely the resurrection until being glorified in heaven.
God blesses you.
