From Delayed Broadcast of Fellowship Service in PalopoPeace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The theme is "
I am the light of the world."
John 8:12
8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
It refers to the appearance of Jesus as the light of the world.
Why does Jesus appear as the light of the world?
- To illuminate a woman who was caught in adultery.
She refers to men or the church of God who lives in the darkness of sin and is ready to get the punishment, namely the death.
- To make men or the church as glorious and perfect as Jesus and worthy to welcome His second coming on the glorious clouds.
Matthew 5:14
5:14"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
How does Jesus appear as the light of the world?
Jesus appears as the light of the world through Christmas.
Christmas means that Jesus was born in the world as a sinless man.
Isaiah 9:1,5
9:1 The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.
9:5 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Isaiah the prophet has prophesied the birth of Jesus as the great light that has shined to the men who are in the darkness.
John 1:1,3-5,14
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
1:3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
1:5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John the apostle explained the birth of Jesus, namely the Word was born to be a sinless man. But,
He is the Light, namely the light of grace and truth as well as glory.
- The light of truth and grace is to illuminate the sinful men in the darkness and save them.
We can receive it through the gospel of salvation, the Gospel Word, the milk, or the Good News.
Ephesians 1:13
1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Proverbs 25:25
25:25As cold water to a weary soul, So is good news from a far country.
It preaches Jesus' first coming as a sinless man who must die on the cross to save the sinful men.
- The light of glory is to perfect the saved people, so they can be as perfect and glorious as Jesus and able to welcome His coming on the glorious clouds.
We can receive it through the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ or the teaching Word. It is the Word which is sharper than any two-edged sword, the solid food, or the Bride Tidings.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
The light of the gospel of the glory of Christ preaches Jesus' second coming as the King of all kings or the Heavenly Bridegroom to sanctify and change the saved people and make them as perfect as Jesus is.
John 8:2-11
8:2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.
8:3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,
8:4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.
8:5 "Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?"
8:6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.
8:7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first."
8:8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.
8:9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
8:10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?"
8:11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more."
The fact found in the appearance of Jesus as the light of the world is that He appears to illuminate a woman who was caught in adultery or dark life.
The way Jesus helped is through writing with His fingers on the ground.
The ground refers to the clay. How great a man in the world is, he is only the clay or man in flesh and blood who is born by a physical mother. He easily sins up to the peak of sin. If he enjoys sinning up to the peak of sin, the man of clay changes into the one of stone with the hard heart. Such kind of man will drown in the lake of fire and brimstone.
The Lord writes on the ground or stone two times as follows.
- Jesus writes the gospel of salvation, the gospel Word, the milk, or the Good News.
John 8:6
8:6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.
It is the same as Jesus' writing the light of truth and grace.
Romans 3:23-24
3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
3:24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Verse 23 = the light of truth.
Since Adam and Eve sinned and were cast to the world, all men have sinned and the wage of sin is everlasting perdition.
Verse 24 = the light of grace.
The sinful men must have been punished with perdition, but Jesus has replaced them on the cross. They are forgiven and saved by the sacrifice of Christ, the blood of Jesus, or the grace.
Jesus stooped down means that He willingly dies on the cross to write on men of clay and stone or illuminate our life with the gospel of salvation.
Therefore, tonight we must appreciate the effort of God through willingly being written with the gospel of salvation or the light of truth and grace. The process is as follows.
- We believe in the Word. It becomes faith in our heart.
- We repent or stop sinning to return to God. We die to sin.
- We are born by water and spirit.
Romans 6:2,4
6:2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The true water baptism happens when one who has died to sin is buried in water with Jesus to rise with Him in new life. After Jesus was baptized, the heavens were opened and Holy Spirit came down. After we come out of the burial of water, we get the new life, namely the baptism of Holy Spirit. We live in righteousness, namely we do not sin anymore regardless of any risk we have to take.
John 8:10-11
8:10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?"
8:11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more."
Proverbs 10:2-3
10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death.
10:3 The LORD will not allow the righteous soul to famish, But He casts away the desire of the wicked.
Living in the righteousness is the same as having the salvation.
Be careful! There is life that does not want to be written with the gospel of salvation.
John 8:9
8:9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
Judas Iscariot lifted the heel or felt higher than God. Consequently, he perished forever.
It begins from the oldest in the teachings or age. Let us be careful.
One does not want to be written with the gospel of salvation because of these reasons.
- Self-truth, namely covering the mistake by blaming others and God or the true teaching Word.
- Being unrighteous or on man's side. A woman was caught in adultery with a man, but only the woman was judged.
If we are on the Lord's side, we will be just.
- Jesus writes the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, the teaching Word, or the Bride Tidings.
John 8:8
8:8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.
It is the same as radiating the light of glory.
Jesus stooped down means that He appreciates the righteous to be perfected like Him.
We must hear the teaching Word earnestly until we understand, believe, do it, and get the sanctification and renewal.
Hebrews 4:12
4:12For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The teaching Word is sharper than any two-edged sword as follows.
- The first sharpness is to sanctify the heart.
Matthew 15:19
15:19 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts(1), murders(2), adulteries(3), fornications(4), thefts(5), false witness(6), blasphemies(7).
If the heart is filled with seven desires of evil, uncleanness, and bitterness of heart, the lamp will be quenched. The heart and eyes become dark and there is no control anymore in that life, like dog and swine. He commits sin up to the peak. The direction is towards Babylon, namely the bride of Satan who is perfect in evil and uncleanness.
Revelation 17:4-5
17:4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.
17:5 And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
If the heart is sanctified from the seven evil and unclean desires, the lamp will shine. Our eyes are bright, so we can live in holiness. We can always be faithful and fervent in spirit in serving and ministering to God until the end line, namely we pass away or Jesus comes a second time.
- The second sharpness is to renew.
Ephesians 4:21-25
4:21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
4:22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
4:23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
4:24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
4:25 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.
The sign of a new man is that there is no lie. Say "yes" if "yes" and "no" if "no". Say "true" if "true" and "false" if "false". Being honest is the same as believing in the Lord. Not being honest is the same as neither believing nor having faith in the Lord.
The sanctification and renewal are the greatest miracle we must experience. If the spiritual miracle happens, the physical one will also happen for sure.
Maybe our life is the same as the woman who was caught in adultery, namely being in difficulties, fear, distress, dead-end, and so on. God is waiting for our honesty. If we are honest, He will not punish us. He wants to perform the miracle in the midst of us. The last miracle is that we are changed to be as glorious as Jesus is. We do not stumble in word, but only cry out "Alleluia" to welcome Jesus' second coming on the glorious clouds. The hard stone can be the precious one in the New Jerusalem forever.
Revelation 19:6
19:6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
God blesses you.
